Lady silence93 hey, I honestly didn’t think it was too hard:) listening to the sat nav was just like listening to an instructor I think, just prove to them that you know how to drive x
It would be useful if you added a list of his minors and the timings when he made them. Did he secure the car after the emergency stop? I thought that was compulsory.
In Sweden the test are basically driving city, parking however you want, driving highway, reverse around a corner in a junction, follow road directions (follow road E20 and then go onto ...). I passed mine with no faults by just driving privately, no school at all.
I passed my test second time, about a month ago now . Both test were the new driving test but I never used the sat nav on either test . I would say it was easier as I learnt to drive for the old test. The manoeuvres on the new test are a lot easier . Just take your time and use your mirrors a lot 😃
18:34, 27:15, 20:40, 22:25. he should have had at least 8-10 driving faults. but no serious or dangerous faults. he signals before doing safety checks. hardly looks at centre mirror.
Sat nav ain't so bad after all since I use it on my motorcycle to commute to areas I don't know to well. I will preparing to take my driving lessons again as didn't pass test before. These videos are great references I will definitely be using these when I'm ready for my test thanks.
I've spotted 18 faults on this...most of them mirrors checks, stirring(arm crossing and let wheel slide),signal to early 20:44,he washed front screen not the back one, emergency stop no hand break.....
Apparently, crossing your hands on the wheel does not get you a minor. It only would if you let go of the wheel completely, which you cannot do, and you often you have to do this when crossing your hands on the wheel. That's why it is openly discouraged by instructors, however, if you do not let go of the steering wheel, it is fine.
But turning it back manually seems like a pain all that turning, the steering wheel will go back on its own once you made the turn as long as.ylu have the car under control and don't let wheel spin too fast I think its fine.
Magic Man I think you can allow it to straighten now, instead of feeding it back, as long as hands remain in contact with the wheel at 10 and 2 like a loose grip
“Rescue remedy” is good its natural and helps with anxiety and can be bought from most supermarkets, I’ll be sitting my test on Tuesday and I’ll be using this chills you out a lot!
Liam fam, I've got my test booked in about a month and I'm on my 41st lesson with my instructor, as well as a few hours out and about in my personal car (A mini cooper s) and i can guarantee you that struggling to take in info on your 9th lesson is not unheard of, it took me about 20 lessons to master some of the more "basic" maneuvers and aspects of driving. Eventually you'll find that all the shitload of information given to you will just click in your head and make sense, sounds stupid i know but for some reason, it can go from being really difficult to deal with on say your 9th lesson to a sudden "oh shit i get it" on say your 15th for example. I too suffer from anxiety due to being involved in a very close call a few years back where a driver almost hit us head on as he was speeding around a corner and we were in the middle of a road due to parked cars on the street, yet here i am 3 years later ready to take my test and absolutely bricking it :L keep at it though, regardless of wether you stall once in front of a bus full of people at a junction or stall in a queue of traffic and get some ignorant prick beeping his horn at you, a learner (talking from experience there) you'll only be getting better from where you are now, i guarantee it. Keep at it, your mind will make sense of it all with time :)
If he passed and I fail my test tommorrow, I'm going to have to recommend my driving instructor to watch this. This dude as done sooooooo many things wrong
It's just dangerous trying to feed the wheel with both hands. It's not a natural movement and takes longer to do. In modern cars with power steering it's just not necessary and in the real world nobody does it. Also, could somebody explain how an "infotainment" screen that size is safe to use while driving. Older cars had physical dials or levers which could be easily identified by touch, there was no need to take your eyes off the road to adjust the fan speed for example. In new cars there are no such controls and the driver must look at the screen to perform even the most basic change of settings.
I'm in the middle of my driving lesson and my instructor told me never cross your arms with the steering weel and never let it slide in your hands but he doing all that wtf
3.17-4.11 no mirror checks when moving out and no moving back in when he had chance 6.43 way too early with indicators also when he's doing bay parking he's crossing his hands instead of feeding the steeringwheel through his hands
Sat nav ain't so bad use it on my motorcycle when I commute to areas I don't know to well. I will be preparing for my driving test and these videos are good references.
Well spotted re: handbrake, it should be put on once stopped. He just got the checks in as he started moving otherwise it could have been a serious fault. A dangerous fault is action has to be taken either physically or verbally
I passed my test in April and watching this made me so anxious, many of the things he was doing my driving instructor would have picked me up on e.g. Cancelling the indication manually on many unnecessary occasions, seriously late gear changes, letting the wheel go, hand crossing, not putting handbrake on. Although you would not fail for these things having bad habits will give the examiner the impression that you don't know what you're doing or may no be safe therefore lead them to failing you on something that could have been a minor, e.g. Stalling or being In a cycle lane. Always best to correct these habits.
YeshuaReigns right well in most cases it is not. Unless you are overtaking or pulling over the signal will cancel itself once the wheel is re- aligned to straight therefore there is no need to distract yourself from the driving to think about cancelling signals when they will cancel themselves.
The main reason for him not passing would be the fact that he parked on the right, when there was a junction literally to his left. So it is an automatic fail. He also doesn't indicate when he is pulling up on the left, which is something that you must do, even if there is nobody around. You do not have to indicate when moving off if there is nobody around. Also, he is constantly filtering the wheel through his fingers, which I was told is not actually a serious fault, but it would get you a minor, because essentially you are letting go of the wheel, which is inappropriate. He often signals waaaaaay to early, which the examiner could class as misleading other road users, another fault. His observations, however, are good, he did miss his blind spots a couple of times, but overall, he did remember the correct procedure for moving off.
My candid opinion, your pupil hardly utilises tge mirror, he uses them but am not too convinced, he bends his head for bending sake, but to me he is not checking properly before making decisions. He can move the vehilce, but am not safe.
sgradone I would honestly say just indicate for most things. As long as you're not going to confuse other drivers, you may as well just indicate whenever to insure you don't receive any more minors that you should.
The puegot 208 gt line is exactly the same interior my partner has it. He wanted the gti but gt line is cheaper on insurance as he's only be driving a year. Also my partners one is a 1.2 with turbo. Love that car. I've got my test in may and got given his old puegot 206 rust bucket 😂😂
My dads partner name is called Clair and her son is called Oliver he's going to start driving in his birthday this year he's going 17 and his birthday is the 4th may 2001 and he's going to start driving this year and her other son is called Luke his birthday is 26th January 1996 he was starting driving this year but a couple Of times he couldn't be bothered to do it and a couple of times he's been missing out on it
Thanx for reply.i completely understand that you can pass with 15 drivers faults but my instructor said that if you have 3-4 for the same fault it will because serious fault(in this case mirrors checks)
in all honesty the driving tests dont prepare you for real life conditions i mean most people learn and take there test in low power small engine small hothatches however you are then licence to operate vehicles of unlimited power up to a 3500kg weight. honestly I believe the harder parts of driving is different sized, power to weight and geared vehicles vary so much that driving techniques promoted on the highway code do not cover all vehicles on the road. e.g. high and low gear ratios power output of engines long and short wheel based vehicles affecting how much you turn the wheel, ground clearance blind spots now yes it comes with experience to become a good driver but that is where new drivers struggle and make mistakes. power delivery too affects how vehicles handle and honestly 10 and 2 hand positioning race car style steering is a useful tool but not using it should not be a minor. feeding steering wheel does not work on tight low speed manoeuvring unless you are moving at a snails pace. and changing gear while turning can be useful especially at low speeds in ideal weather conditions without oil on the road to cause a "slide out" loss of traction because thats why changing gear before and after turning is taught. but respectively you can realistically change gear withing the first and last 35% of turning the steering wheel. most driving instructors will teach you to pass but not to drive and being in control of a vehicle with minimum co ordinations allows the driver to have more time to scan a road for hazards and to be self aware. How many driving instructors tell you about 20 zones, sign gateway speed and repeaters or how to assess a road speed limit without seeing signage? most of them think its not there job because you will have done the research for theory test yourself and its there job to just get you operational with controlling a vehicle safely.
That's great he passed! I thought he was a calm, confident and good driver! Although I didn't think you were allowed to let the steering wheel spin like that? I used to do that and my instructor would tell me off.
Erica Lambert if your hands aren’t gripping the wheel you by default have no control over it. Yeah I’m the real world you do that, but it’s a test. Letting it spin is a fail
Magic Man my instructor said it wasn't a fail. I even did it on my test day like 2 times. Never was it ever an issue and i passed on june with 7 minors. 2 being very silly minors due to nerves. But nothing to do with control and stearing.
After Chris turned round the corner he let the wheel spin without feeding it back. I thought in the new test this was a fail, or a minor, but I may be wrong?
Wait... is letting the wheel slip through your fingers allowed now? Dude does it all the time. My grand-dad would slap my knuckles if he saw me doing that.
Bexxie Boo you can cross your hands on the wheel, it isn't even a minor. Do your research, I do it all the time and didn't fail my test because of it. As long as you stay in control of the vehicle it doesn't matter.
Yeah you should avoid it but it doesn't matter if you do it aslong as you're in safe control! You won't fail or even get a minor for it on the driving test x
it matters actually! let me simply put it this way, god forbid but if u are involved in a serious accident would u rather have your hands crossed and tangled up or free? and besides the probability that your arms can stab you or choke u are higher than acting as a barrier when we instinctively try to protect our head or body especially in high speeds... just my 2 cents
I still continue to watch these even though I passed my test on Monday, I just find them so helpful ☺️
Hi katie barnes, really great to hear that, thank you. Congratulations on passing your test- enjoy.
I passed last Monday 😄

On country lanes he was driving in 6th gear whilst going 45mph. Thats a fault. The car was confused.
It has 7 gears and alot of bhp I don't see any problems
All dependent on cars I’m in 4th at 30 mph
Michael Burns It has 6 gears not 7.
thats just the way he drives i think. everybody drives at different pace. (thats not a fault)

Magic Man it would only be a minor if he lost control of the vechile you wont get a minor for just the wheel spinning back .
It's not a minor as long as you're in control
It’s calling letting the wheel feed through your hands. It’s smoother. If he lost control then that’s when he’d get a minor xx

I found this test easier

Serious fault at 27:15 during emergency stop. Did not secure the car and do a 6 point check before moving off.
Well spotted re: handbrake, it should be put on once stopped. He just got the checks in as he started moving otherwise it could have been a serious fault. A dangerous fault is action has to be taken either physically or verbally
Sanay Patel yeah i failed because i didnt put handbrake on the once!😓
Question please: my car is auto handbrake after stop, it is no need to put it, right?
Sufen Z Not needed unless you wanted to rest your feet for a few seconds at a traffic light.
Sufen Z you’d need to explain that to the examiner if you use your own car for the test
I like the sound of the Satnav voice. Is it Fiona Bruce?
Well done on your driving test x

Hi Matt, great video! I have a red Volkswagen like at 10:49 in the video :) I thought the bay parking was very good :)
Very nice! Is that your first car?
Go2 Driving School it is thanks, I’m very proud of it too. It’s a special edition spec model so it has all the fancy bits in it :)
Hey thats my car too :D 2012 Reg VW Polo. 60hp 1.2. only £1200 for insurance if i remember rightly (first car)
He also turned right in third gear at one point
Pulled into a bus stop when asked to pull up on the left
Hasn’t indicated when pulling up on left and on both times of pulling up on left didn’t indicate when driving on safely
When Chris took that right turn I believe he was in 5th gear, then just before he turned it looked like he went into 2nd. Can you do that on the test?
Man like Chris
Watching these videos reminds me of my test 🤧 i cant
I can start learning to drive in 7 months 😀
Trenzy ! In April for me 😬😬
June for me, I can’t wait I’m so anxious to get behind the wheel

It's a 40 minute test, not the end of the world.
hahaha me right now
Hey I’ve got my test soon and I was wondering would my driving instructor will be the same as my driving examiner? Or would it be someone different?
Not being picky ..but he tends to let the wheel free turn through hands when he's done turn etc. Is this allowed?
It is. Just make sure you have control over the car.
Crossed his hands while steering a few times otherwise I would say that’s a good effort
Mirror, Signal, Move. The driver here often signals and then checks mirrors
Can you fail your test for crossing your arms when steering or do you have too do the push pull slide technique
No
@@Go2DrivingSchool cheers for reply mate I passed last month. But my instructor said they fail you if you do this 😂
@@themoocher3029 congrats mate, shows a lack in their understanding if you ask me.
He didn’t secure the car when he did the emergency stop and didn’t do a blind spot check afterwards and before moving off again
17.04 Doesn't indicate left when asked to pull up on the left.
according to my instructor if there no one around you dont need too. but however on a test make sure you do coz they can put it as a minor.
He didn't indicate right when pulling away from that stop either.
If he never signals pulling out that would make me suspicious as his examiner. What about his observations, did he get any minors for missing them?
sgradone I would honestly say just indicate for most things. As long as you're not going to confuse other drivers, you may as well just indicate whenever to insure you don't receive any more minors that you should.

Hi Kam Moore, I do too so that now makes two of us! Thanks for watching my videos. Have a great day!
15:45 Will be a FAIL steering error
Thanks for commenting. It wouldn't even be considered as a driver fault/minor as he keeps control of the vehicle.
not at all actually, as long as you have control
I do that all the time, that’s why cars with power steering are good. It’s minimal effort and the car is always in control.
Well u must have a driving licence already I guess because they wouldn't pass you steering like that
B.I.G TV erm yes they would
Never cross your hands over on your test...
Bexxie Boo you can cross your hands on the wheel, it isn't even a minor. Do your research, I do it all the time and didn't fail my test because of it. As long as you stay in control of the vehicle it doesn't matter.
Leah Davies I have passed my test... my instructor said avoid this .. just until u pass..
Yeah you should avoid it but it doesn't matter if you do it aslong as you're in safe control! You won't fail or even get a minor for it on the driving test x
Leah Davies Yh true that I still don’t do it lol
it matters actually! let me simply put it this way, god forbid but if u are involved in a serious accident would u rather have your hands crossed and tangled up or free? and besides the probability that your arms can stab you or choke u are higher than acting as a barrier when we instinctively try to protect our head or body especially in high speeds... just my 2 cents
