The tool that she is using to remove the ticks is a tick twister. They are very inexpensive and they work so well at removing ticks. That's the only tool we use to get rid of ticks. Highly recommended!
pore boois
Such adorable poodles. So glad that Boots was treated in time. 💖
One is as cute as the other! So glad Boots got the help he needed!
Aww Boots and his brothers are so adorable! They look like my Cockapoo, Rosie! I’m so glad Boots got better, Love is so powerful. I Love this show! Lots of love to all ❤️
Poor Boots 😧. Good that the owners took the Boots in time to the vet. Happy ending 🐶🐶🐶💕. Thank you, Dr. Lisa for taking care of the Boots 💝.
Thank you Dr. Lisa for sharing this valuable info about this disease. I have fallen in love with this beautiful family and their 3 precious poodles. Lucky for Boots to come in when he did and Dr Lisa to be on duty.
Poor Boots I’m happy he got better
We had no idea this tick toxin was a thing, neither the vets in my country, so my dog suffered for like 4 days in a delirious state, his muscles disappeared, and all he did was bark in agony non stop until the vets had no option but to put him down. Could you explain how this happened. It breaks my heart remembering that, he was my buddy and we couldnt do anything for him 😞
Fortunately we don’t have these ticks in the US.
@@judyfrey1344 yeah this happened in central america, i guess its only in tropical climates.
Don’t tell me I have a dog I can’t imagine my life without her
Here in Canada we have tick prevention medication. Is that not an option in Australia?
Hey is this only for dogs ?
They likely do have tick prevention but some owners don't use these options likely because they can be expensive.
These ticks aren’t in all areas.
@@judyfrey1344 Bondi vet is based in Australia
Yes there is tick prevention in the US but it does not really prevent ticks , the tick still has to bite the dog in order to die, the medication goes into the blood stream and is good for a month but it does not prevent ticks from going after your dog it is not a repellent
It was heart breaking to see Boots wobbling all over the place...
My ten year old dog just had to go through treatment for this very thing. I'm lucky my dog didn't die because the emergency vet just wouldn't see him as a critical patient. Ten days it took to get him seen. Labored breathing the whole way through and he couldn't walk on his rear legs. I'm so angry at the vets out here for being a-holes. He was critical...My husband and I nursed our boy back to health. By the time he actually got in to see a vet, he was starting to walk again. I'm lucky that it wasn't more severe. Then for my dog to have Lyme disease on top of it all...My poor old doggo.
When I was a little girl my grandfather used to have a dog around the backyard filled with ticks. He ended up dying of tick poison and he never got the good life of being a dog. I still can't understand why would a guard dog be leashed to the same place instead of giving him freedom and why he didn't took care of him.
Bondi Vet is fantastic ❤️❤️❤️
In Sweden we have Bravecto against the ticks, it’s working very good, not 100% but nearly👌
Same in Germany 👍🏽😊☮️
I’m in NY and we used a chewable flea and tick repellent once a month. Maybe this type of tick is resistant or has some type of preventative. Thank goodness for Lisa being so through to have shaved them. Happy outcome for Boots!
It is important to know, that
1. wether or not ticks are poisonouse depends on species and thus on region. At this point reports are limited to Australia and North and South America. In Europe tick poisoning is unknown. (though meningitis spread by ticks and other infections are still a thing)
2. most ticks start to develope the toxin only after 5-7 days of bloodsucking, so removing all ticks asap is the best prevention.
3. in addition to the medication, coconut oil has been shown to be effective in preventing some species of flees and bugs from biting, since they contain acids that are toxic for them, that can be found in the blood of those eating the oil. It depends on the individual species in your region wether or not it will work and dogs can be allergic to coconut oil. And it is less tested overall then the medication of course. It seems s also relativly expensive compared to medication, since you need to feed the dog a table spoon full of the oil a day to have an effect. But it may be worth a shot if your dog is not doing well with the medication.
@@hannajung7512 i really don’t like ticks😡but they was on this planet before us humans and they are probebly gonna be here when we are gone so….
Beautiful black fur babies I hate those ticks
POOR BOOTS
For for boots hopefully she will be okay for the night that is so sad I wish when I grow up everything’s gonna be normal because where I go of our bed apart of Bondi vet will be a great thing I’m gonna be a great man
Доктор молодец!👍🐕🐕🐕🙏🙏🙏❤️
Si😊😊😊
It depends on the ticks, in what country how bad they can get.
Are these ticks in the US
Why don’t they all get the anti tick drops?
Poor Boots! 🖤
For everyone commenting about tick prevention, some owners are afraid to use it because it can be just as toxic, tick season sometimes comes sooner than people realize and they’re out prior to the dogs being treated, and not all tick prevention works 100%. It’s a gamble. I personally use a natural flea and tick collar but they’re not necessarily perfect
I can verify that tick prevention doesn't work all the time. Where we live the dogs and people get ticks all the time, even with tick prevention. Thankfully we don't have tick toxin, but several dogs and a family member have contracted anaplasmosis which is very common in the area. My brother in law had to be hospitalized due to it.
Tick season in the States seems to be year round these days. I don't have any pets but I avoid grass and shrubs and parks for my own safety. I get a lot of deer in my yard along with the usual squirrels, chipmunks, even foxes and coyote.
Instead of shaving can't they use a high velocity dryer like we use in the grooming industry to check all over them?
God bless 🙏❤
to bondi vet Boots is breathing normally andeating normally hooray
Hi I love this show
I hope they give them tic prevention from now on. Five girls now I know why they have 3 dogs 😊
Oh poor baby so sick 😥
Sweet little boots
I don’t understand why these people don’t give their dogs tick prevention 🤷♀️
Because sometimes the tick prevention has caused problems.
These drugs are neuro toxins. I also struggle with the issue.....keep fleas and ticks away (which have, as we know) because they have so many diseases......or, not treat them and hope.......no easy answer
@@dorissale4457 Sometimes the ticks cause problems. :/
Tick prevention doesn't always work
I have wondered about that. Looked it up on Google and from what I saw, prevention meds did not exist till recently so hopefully it is available and being prescribed.
And if they find a tick, they shouldn’t t just pull it out. That puts more poison into the animal. If possible, grasp and turn tick counter clock wise and pull gently. Then save for vet…(in case) We don’t get those ticks here, but they appear deadly. 🥺. And I’ve dealt with dozens of ticks here. On husband, myself and dogs, so we have to watch through spring and summer.
Don't know were you live. But ticks that develope toxines are known in America and Australia, but do not occure in Europe at this point in time.
They develope their toxine after 5-7 days of bloodsucking, so early removal will prevent poisoning.
The main reason to gently turn the Tick and not just pull is twofold: if you squeeze the tick you might accidently squeeze out toxines, digested blood etc. (overall nastyness), but almost more important is that if you just pull the head will rip of and get stuck in your skin causing massive inflammation that might need surgical removal of the thing.
Are they really miniature poodles? They look more like toy poodles.
And please remember even 1 day late with your tick tablets means dogs are not protected
to boni vet did You give Boots the tick antisyrum in time
nice video🥰
I wounder if it's a common think in the US as well we have ticks
The thicks are problem for humans too.
Don't get a pet if you're too dumb or lazy to use a tick preventative.
COCONUT OIL…..is a natural flea & tick repellent….l will put it in my dogs food…when my money is tight and l can’t afford getting it from veterinarian…..just another option.
Chopper and BJ are Tick Free hooray
to bondi vet whats happining with Chopper and BJ
🖐️👍👌❤️🤗
This woman has way too many kids, half of them barefoot in a vets hospital. Do better
"Kathrine and the extended family" Some of them are likely cousins who adore the dogs and wanted to see them. Also they're kids, it's shown earlier that they all had footwear, they probably just took their sandals off because the floor was cool. I did that as a kid all the time.
