    Thank you all SO SO much for watching this video! 💜💜💜 I can’t tell you how humbled I am by the support and the sweet comments. You guys are the best! Here are some FAQs so far:
    Q: Why are labels where no one can see them?
    A: The labels are mainly for my family to know where to put things at when the drawer/cabinet is empty. They’re to make sure everything go back in it’s designated place.
    Q: What’s the name of the song at the end?
    A: It Should Have Been You x Loving Caliber
    Q: Where’s the girls’ bunk bed from?
    A: Birch Lane www.birchlane.com/baby-kids/pdp/bellmead-twin-over-twin-bunk-bed-gryl6582.html
    Q: How wide is your hallway?
    A: 37”

    Yay! I’m not the only “lunatic” using IKEA shoe storage trundles for linens! 😁 We moved from a 3/2 townhouse to a 2/2 apartment and, needless to say, I had to get creative. I got the plastic ones, which are thinner, so I could put them behind doors and inside bathrooms for linen storage, with minimal “footprint.” I even have one next to my vanity. It’s brilliant storage!

    I love the way that you've thought outside the box for this storage. Thank you for sharing your project with us. I'm in the process of decluttering after having a serious health scare recently. I don't want my son to have to worry about anything because he lives on the opposite side of Australia to where I live. I also love the white on the front and the stained wood on the top. I did the same thing to all of my dark oak furniture by painting it all white and leaving the tops the natural colour. I think that dark furniture is nice and cosy in a colder climate, but since moving to the subtropics, it was. too oppressive. Friends were horrified that I was going to paint it, but when I'd finished it, they all loved it and agreed that I'd done the right thing. We only get about 4 to 6 weeks of 'winter' which is when the temperature drops to about 17 Celsius or approximately 64F. We actually complain about the cold! However we get up tp around 110 Fahrenheit although we would only have aa week or so of these extreme temperatures in January and February.

      Put folded sheets btwn mattress and boxspring of each bed theyre for. You only need 3 sheet sets TOPS per bed. 1 on it, 2 stored. Same for towels for each person. Put their extra towel btwn too. Wash towels just weekly as youre clean when you get out of shower, right?
      Put beds on risers also and store TONS of stuff under beds too! We use concrete blocks actually as I want alllll the space I can get. Getting into bed is feat here lol My kids literally have a playspace under their bed, its so high up. They can sit up under it, or they could-they are now having to slouch as theyve grown so much that theyre now 5-6 and 5-9. I can barely get on the bed but theyve never had a problem.

    • @CorinaJane
      @CorinaJane 4 года назад +1

      @@YeshuaKingMessiah That's great that that works for you, we are reducing clutter around our home so nothing under beds and extra sheets under the mattress sound lumpy lol

    • @YeshuaKingMessiah
      @YeshuaKingMessiah 4 года назад

      Corina Jane linen closet storage is not clutter and folded sheets, spread out under the mattress, top sheet folded up here, folded bottom sheet there, pillowcases there, is not lumpy at all.

    this is brilliant. I am in a new apartment which has almost no storage space and I've been putting my sheets in a storage bin under my bed and in milk crates standing on their sides in the laundry closet. It takes up some of the laundry closet shelf space but it works for most of the towels and on the top which is a bit of a hassle to reach I put the out of season flannel sheets. Ikea builds are always fun, eh? Love that you shared this. Hope your family enjoys the work you did!! You rock!

    I agree it takes forever but I find it sooo satisfying. It really turned out beautifully with the custom piece of wood on top. Great eye!

    What a brilliant Innovative idea and putting the top on that makes the entire two pieces look like a cohesive single piece of furniture is the best part ....also how you decorated with the photo of your kids and the Beautiful florals just lovely. Added to that was the organizational part with the labels, it's like you have the artistic side and the Practical side Blended so well

    I just pick up one of those from ikea. What a way to think out of the box. Great job! I need that label maker in my life

    This is so pretty! You have great taste and I love that you didn't use the white top with the overhang on the sides, this looks stunning. Wow!

    Thank you for this. I just bought a new log cabin and didn’t know where I could store linens and laundry items. The laundry room is basically just a closet that my stack washer and dryer will fit it, and nothing else. I wanted something that would work in the hallway but not take up much room.
    I want to have a ministry for pastors and their spouses to come and stay for free and be ministered to. The cabin is in the mountains, in a forest, with a large covered deck, with a pond and a couple streams.
    However, I don’t know if they may have mobility issues or need a wheelchair, so I want to make sure there’s plenty of room in the hallway just in case. So thank you for that.

    That was a great design for your small hall. I didn't have a linen closet but had a small alcove going into the bath. Problem was, the pull down stairs to the attic was directly over head. Turns out Ikea's Hemnes glass door cabinet with three drawers fit in a gap between the stairs and the wall opposite the door. I put textured contact paper on the glass (looks like grey tweed) and got Ikea KVARNVIK storage boxes for on top (the two grey patterns worked well together).

    You're so lucky to have a basement space. Nice house, and beautiful family. I've always used the hallway for some shallow storage. Smart hack. Love the way it turned out. Looking forward to see what else you come up with. Thanks for posting.

    Wow, can’t believe I found this! I’ve wanted to buy this piece for a while now, as my hallway is so narrow. The “shoe storage” angle made me think it wouldn’t work for regular storage. Thank you for showing that towels and tp do fit!
    I’m taking the plunge and getting 2. Might do the stain, too. I’m lazy, though 😂
    Beautiful job!

    I looooove this! I need a linen closet for my girls and was wondering if anyone made a video with this cabinet storing other things, rather than shoes! So excited!

    This is one of the best DIY videos I've seen! You're clear about your steps and materials, and your video shows even the tricky, frustrating parts (what's real about DIY!). Great tip about using the same stain color on *everything*, and why had I never seen a Dymo Mobile? Thank you for sharing!

    I’ve seen these used for storage other than shoes but didn’t think I could use it because I rent my condo. Watching you attach them to your walls I realized I could use Command strips to attach to the wall! 🤔 There are no little ones to worry about tip over safety. Still, I’ll be using A LOT of the heavy duty strips😉 I’m going to try this for a mail/gloves/scarves/hat storage off my entry. Thanks!
