- A Michigan seventh grader is earning praise for his heroic actions on a school bus. Before his school bus driver can pull over due to feeling dizzy, she loses consciousness. That's when 13-year-old Dillon Reeves jumps into action and saves the day. He grabbed the wheel and pressed on the brakes, which brought the bus to a halt. Now, Reeves is receiving the hero's treatment at his family's home. Inside Edition's Les Trent has more.

Yeah it helped me steal 1200 cars in 2 weeks (very real story guys trust me)
It's already being taught. That's how he knows which breaks is which. Not to mention small kids taking their guardian car all the time.
I swear it's pretty easy, just hold the clutch and brakes when going to a full stop
same with gun safety. when they know how to respect these things they will be better off in an encounter with them as shown here.

After I saw how calm he was and how he directed the other children to call 911, I immediately thought, “He’ll make a great firefighter, EMT or doctor.” Glad to hear he’s considering one of those professions. He definitely has the intelligence and chill temperament. Amazing presence of mind for a 7th grader.

Sometimes even if you know what to do you can get paralyzed with fear. Happens to me as an adult. This kid is so brave! Good on him for stepping up

Tbh I'm someone who jumps into action, but I do get that paralyzing fear every time. Part of me realizes that no one else is doing anything to stop what is happening, and I might be the only "lifeline" someone may have until emergency services gets there.
Plus I had a trauma as a kid where i was my moms only lifeline after she was heavily injured. If I hadn't helped her, theres a strong chance that I wouldn't have my mom now.

This is the kind of kid we badly needed in this world. He is very responsible, smart & above all he observes what’s going on around him. He deserves to be recognized for his bravery & lifesavings attitudes. Parents must be really very proud of him.This kid for sure must be rightfully/ properly being raised by his parents. In the full video, you can see that the bus driver is fighting so hard to stay conscious while she tries to pull over. I’m so glad she had such an attentive student on the bus!

I cherish the love and the passion that the boy exhibited to save us all. The boy is a true hero. One death is alot too many. Best regards, boy!!!
My dad would tell me what is what, and what to do whenever we drove together. I'd sometimes get up the driver's seat and do whatever he taught me. But he never let me actually drive until I reached the required age. This clearly shows the importance of teaching your children important skills and knowledge.
That being said, kudos to this kid because having the knowledge to do something and actually having the bravery and calmness to do it is different.

That's how I learned the sense of speed and turning curve also when to brake. Simplest and cheapest way to learn to drive a car.
And then I learned the sense of Manual gears on PlayStation 2. And then Boom, learned to drive a stick car by the age of 16 in less than 3 days.

He saved the lives of all the students on the bus that day. Not all heroes wear capes. He deserves a medal.
They were barely coasting forward. I'd say saved the bus from damage but no one would have died of it hit anything other than running someone over lol.
He saved other people outside from being run over by an out of control bus.
With that mass, no matter its speed, it would have run over any pedestrian or biker unfortunate to be in its path.

Crying right now because this is what children should experiencing about being a good citizen and understanding what it means to do for others. This little man did not think twice to stop that bus. I say this because what’s happening in the schools hurt me. I don’t care what race a child is. They have the aright to live their life to the fullest. one detail they left out imo is that the driver was trying to pull over to safety, but passed out before she could get a chance to. Not only did this young man save his classmates but also the driver and everyone else thats driving around the bus. Calm and collected this young man knew what he had to do to keep everyone safe.

As a bus driver myself, this kid is awesome. We do twice a school year training on what to do in an emergency situation, including the driver being incapacitated, but this kid did great. (Should have also set the parking break, but good job nonetheless). I see a bright future for him. Calm under pressure
