Love seeing the TS10 probably my favourite attachment to watch. Mowed along the freeway with a JD HX15 for years and its amazing how much stability the mower adds to the machine. Also, could back sign posts/trees/reflectors in between the back tandems and it would cut fairly close

You mastered that 180 degree turn to keep the mower on point right back on the next row of grass. Impressive. I had to chuckle when you were talking about the mower discharge and there was Christy’s shadow, literally running, chasing the mower for the shot.

What a nice job. It features a great turning radius, and I saw you turn around on the end and come back on the same pass. The PTO seems very forgiving on tight turns. The tractor seemed very comfortable with TS-10. Enjoyable to watch. Have a blessed Independence Day!

You are part of the reason I went with a TS 12 I remember all the cutting of with that TS 10 on a property with brush and the good job it did. I have an NX 4510 and I mow the ditches with the travel lock for height. Leaves it nice and green and the weeds can't grow so fast with the tall grass But it looks really good. It does a real good job of chewing up all the grass also. Enjoy the videos.

Always loved tractors, now and as a kid. Growing up in the suburbs, the city mowing contractor is all I have to watch for tractors. That TS10 is really something! Its amazing how great that thing cuts. The Contractor here uses flex wing mowers, albeit much larger. 15 to 20 foot mowers to be exact, and all Rhino. You look like you are having fun, Tim! Me, I'd love that. You wouldn't be able to get me off the tractor! Partial to Deere, but I am a general enthusiast. The 3046R is a nice little tractor.

  • @kaytod
    @kaytod Год назад +3

Tim, The outboard wheel spindle shaftst on the wings are likely welded in place. A suggestion to Rhino would be to use a bolt in spindle shaft, or a wedge type like a bale spear, that could be reversable. This would allow the wheel to run at the edge for ditch work and normal usage and reversed with the wheel inset for getting closer to obstacles without rubbing the tire on them. Just a thought.

I just picked up a used woods rm 600 3 point finish mower last week. It needs a little tlc but tried it out on my 3046r and for what I was cutting (taller then by looks you just had) it did well. One of the tlc items is a set of blades as these are very nicked up but in good shape if they aren't so deep that it take having an edge put on then again. I've only got about 2 tops that we let go and hit it once a month or so. Loved the cruise control while doing it!.

We finally went for a tractor and got it on Friday. Aside from driving it around the yard a little bit we haven't got around to doing any work with it yet. When we went to price out a unit at the beginning of June we stuck to the brands that were the easiest to travel to from our house which were Kubota, John Deere, Massey Ferguson & Kioti. Since Kubota has the awful rocker pedal we just kind of skipped looking at one of those. We looked at a Massey Ferguson and Kioti first since the same dealer sells both.
The smallest Kioti he had on the lot was too big for our yard and he didn't have any of the sub-compact Kioti's in stock. He also said the Kioti's were more expensive than the Massey and steered us toward that as best bang-for-buck. So we got it priced out in a few different configurations to see what the difference in payments would be. A front mounted snow blower obviously being the most expensive. We also got it priced out with just it's stock loader unit & a set of pallet forks and it's stock setup with a box blade. But before we went with that as our choice we priced out a John Deere 1023E also with a snow blower. Ended up going for the Massey because the John Deere was going for $3,000 more and the tractor itself wasn't really any better imo. What made it even worse is the monthly payments I was given by the John Deere dealer were what he estimated even AFTER adding all of the incentives John Deere was offering. So that was a bit nope.
So, long story short we opted for a Massey Ferguson GC1723 E with it's stock loader and an added box blade for flattening and maintaining the yard/driveway. When we hit the 50 hour break in period the dealer wants us to call them and they'll come get it to do a full fluid flush and filter change which is nice. All of the controls seem to be in a decent layout and are easy to get to. So I'm very eager to do some work with it. We're hoping to move some dirt around tomorrow. :)

Haha, I was just going to comment before you said it, that a hydrostat would be so nice when mowing around stuff! We mow around TONS of trees a time or 2 a summer, and it just ends up better to leave a teardrop on each side, and go back with the ZTR. Of course, we do as much driveway grading (5/8 mile, some of it at 20% grade) and log skidding that I don't know that a hydrostat would hold up well to that over time. Also, with a 64HP tractor...

Two good mower stories. We lost our farm and had to work for other farmers. The place my brother worked at had a wide mower and at least once a week the PTO shaft would break. They blamed the driver for cutting too sharp. My brother told the owners son it was put on backwards. He was told in no uncertain terms to put it back just how it comes off. After the third time my brother had to fix it he reversed it. The next week the driver was telling the bosses son how he mowed all week and it never broke and ran much smoother. The bosses son talked to my brother and said you turned it around didn't you. Yep. The bosses son, who was also a school teacher said well, that is how the salesman told me it went.
I was using the wide mower my boss had, every now and then it would make clanging noises. My old bush hog did that because the sides were pushed in and the blades would hit sometimes so i thought nothing of it. I told my boss and he said it gets out of time, just take one of the side shafts off and retime it. Whaaat!! OK, I do that, an hour later it grenades. He was blaming me for not fixing it soon enough. If it is jumping time the center gear box was already toast. One expensive gearbox later it was purring like a kitten.
It goes to show you you do not have to be a good mechanic to be a successful farmer.

Bill, the 3e is TOTALLY different than the 3R. 3e is about half as powerful, and yes, the 3e loader is not easily removable.
3R is a high end machine with easily removable loader, mid PTO, etc.
Deere made this confusing by calling both of them ‘3 series’. They are NOT EVEN CLOSE!

@@TractorTimewithTim I'm curious but does the 3R series offer OEM 3 rear remotes like the Grand L? To me they are very similar Tractors. We went with The Grand L primarily because our dealer had one available and we just waited a few months for the loader to come in. It would have been a longer wait for a JD or Kubota to have it all come in together. Just the way the world is now.

    • @TractorTimewithTim

Yes, the 3R offers rear remotes. I have one… there are two more available. I did not get them because I want to show chase a Summit product…which I have not yet received.
The 3R is similar but physically smaller than the Grand L. Both are fabulous machines! I would say the 4060 and 4760 are more similar to the 4R in physical size…but likely not quite as capable. It is hard to do direct comparisons on these due to size differences.

We show it on a 2038r which is identical drivetrain (engine/transmission). On level ground, you will be fine. Steep hills will be a challenge due to weight of the unit.
