- The title says it all. Corfu Airport is the gateway to the Greek island of Corfu serving arounf 4 million passengers per year. Situated between two hills and the sea, its location is truly unique as its 2360 meters long runway can't be approached by a straight approach path. Due to the scenery, this airport has become one of the most famous plane spotting locations around the globe, so I had to visit this place and I must say: I was impressed how beautiful the surrounding scenery is and how great it looks when the airplanes are landing and taking off in front of this spectacular background. Take a look yourself in this 40 minutes compilation of various traffic and some specials!

I once stayed at the Pink Apartments at the end of the runway “Anna’s Apartments” when sitting on the balcony facing the runway you could almost touch the planes taxing to take off. The apartments were triple glazed-to block out most of the noise.
I was looking at that one as well but they didn't have free space anymore, so I stayed at the Royal Grand Hotel.
@@ZurichAirportSpotter I normally stay at the Ariti Hotel now. Good view of runway and airport from many rooms
