Before recording MTV's Unplugged, Cobain asked Lanegan to come and sing Leadbelly's song on the show. Lanegean refused. Then Kurts asked if it would be ok for him to sing the song in the style Lanegean had recorded it. Lanegan answered basically saying 'It's not even my song, who am I to tell anybody how to sing it'.
The only think that is wrong with Mark's story is that he mentioned he was by the greenhouse with Tom and Dylan. According to Tom Grant, Mark was with them driving around and Not at the house search. I'm not sure why there are inconsistencies.
They were the 2 closest people who gave him no grief for his addiction and destructiveness. Kurt used him and Lanegan allowed himself to be used. I've been through it and done the same things.
@johncarolina4950 Dylan was on Courtney s side though for drugs, so he wasn't the best of friend you think he was. He probably knows exactly what happened to kurt back on his death day.
@@heightenedsenses9605 I agree Dylan knew something bc he had to know the greenhouse was there and didn't mention to search it with Tom Grant when they were looking for Kurt.
Lanegan's book was the most realistic take on the life of a drug addict. The writing is incredible, his description of what its like to be jonesing and want a fix and what you would do to get the fix to stop the sickness from taking over. It should be read in grade 11 english.

Wow! I really enjoyed this and learned something new. Banger.
Great video, man
I bought a car stereo from Mark Lanegan in 1988. It was a Jensen cassette deck. I still have it.

because Tom Grant is inconsistency
I’d love to know what kind of tobacco he used when singing, if it was dip like Copenhagen or Red Man chew
Great vid! I find it interesting that Kurt felt his only 2 friends were Lanegan and Dylan Carlson. It seems he was so isolated towards the end. 😢

And honestly, I don't think either were really his friends. Not when heroin is involved.

I once had the chance to score and use with Mark. Great Being. RIP
OUCH 😢
Lanegan and Staley were hanging out, and Staley thought Cobain was murdered, so wonder what they talked about.
I honestly don't trust a lot of what Mark Lanegan says. He seems to be FOS a lot.
