      @sarasamaletdin4574 7 лет назад

      She said Europe. And he does not represent Europe the same way the others do their countries since people in rest of Europe do not care about him in the same way. And he seems more like a concidence form Europe rather than chosen to represent the region for box office reasons like the others.

    • @idonotknow8503
      @idonotknow8503 7 лет назад

      Sara Samaletdin people in Europe do not quite feel like a minority who needs representation in Hollywood :D While China, for example, is a closed market that demands an increasing recognition we do not give a s*** if the actors are from Europe, Japan or Canada.

    • @Espinozaize
      @Espinozaize 7 лет назад

      Haked Profile Look it was more that she implied, that he is basicly American. Atleast I heard it that way.
      I mean the American movies that he has been in is a fraction of his career.
      Before that he has been in virtually all genres of movies here in Denmark since the late 80´ties & many people have grown up with him so to speak.
      He was a big part in making the danish movie industry an international phenomenon.
      So that is why it just stang a little bit when she said...well he is some Europe guy, that lives here now: Thats an American really

    The fact that Rogue One came in a very close 3rd when the film is carried by original characters versus renown characters in Batman, Superman, The Joker, Iron Man, Capt America, etc, proves what franchise has the biggest fandom. Rogue One didn't even have the hype, anticipation, nor aggressive marketing campaign those DC and Marvel blockbusters had either. To be the first SW spin off and to perform like this I know Lucasfilm and Kathy are pleased.

      Grace I have a question. You said in a previous video that there should be more diversity in Star Wars and other big franchises. Do you think that people should be hired based on race, gender, ethnicity, sexuality or a disability they have and not their acting ability just to achieve this goal? Because there are people that think this, like the BBC and Channel 4

    Marvel should be happy with Doctor Strange's high $600 million final gross (or low 700s). The only reason GotG and TWS made the money they did was because there were no major movies opening after them, so they had all the time to make money. That is not the case for doctor strange

    I wouldn't worry about Moana as it's performance is mirroring TS2 which got to around $250 million. Additionally, Rogue One is a huge threat and considering Moana dropped by only around 31%, it bodes well for its continued rjn against Sing and other releases. As for the worldwide numbers. Yes, they are very worrying, but then again, it seems to be opening small and posting HUGE legs so that could bode well for countries like South Korea and Japan where most Disney animated films usually do great business. $240-275 million for Moana domestically and $600-700 million worldwide is where its headed and that is, in my opinion, another win for Walt Disney Animated Studios.

      Thadeu Antonio Ferreira de Melo Minions and Inside Out worked in tandem to obliterate records along with Jurassic World last year. The Secret Life of Pets and Finding Dory performed alongside one another quite well bar the fact that Finding Dory was already one month into its run by the time SLOP came, but it's still another example of two giant animated hits performing well amidst direct competition. Since those examples are from summer, they won't be apples to apples comparisons, but they do drive home my point; animated juggernauts can live and dwell together even when in competition with one another. Hopefully that happens as both films deserve their individual successes in a market void of original films receiving the limelight.

    I really don't think you can say Collateral Beauty is Wills fault. That movie just looked kind of blah, and then all the negative reviews came out. Honestly if star wars hadn't came out at the same time I might have seen Collateral Beauty. If I had, the ONLY reason would have been because Will Smith was in it. I think Will Smiths problem is finding a good movie to be in. He is best in action/comedy rolls IMO, which this movie did not appear to be either of those things.

    What is that, like a third of what TFA did opening weekend? I really don't think the SW franchise can ever be an under-performer, but honestly, to paraphrase Vader, I find this lack of tickets sales disturbing. It should have easily eclipsed 165M - losing out to BVS? I think it will keep more momentum into next weekend as kids are out for the holidays this week, but exceeding expectations by lowering your expectations is not a real win in my book.

    Realistically, I don't really think people from most parts of Europe care much about Mads Mikkelsen representing them. However, I am from Denmark like Mads Mikkelsen, and even though he wasn't the only reason I saw the movie, he definitely made me not wanna miss it. That doesn't count for much, since Denmark and Scandinavia as a whole (I am also very excited to see other Scandinavian actors in big movies) has so few citizens, but it is probably all it does to draw people in. Hopefully Mads Mikkelsen brought some people in on account of his acting skills and the fans he has made through his work, though!

    perhaps the problem with Moana is that people is already in the Xmas mood and dont feel like watching a "tropical movie"

    About international, European countries are NEVER represented despite being the a biggest market... I guess they should start complaining as well.

      Mar B I agree. People should list how much money a movie makes in Europe, not just domestically and internationally and China.

    If Rogue One plays like Force Awakens it'll finish with $585M domestic and $1.29B. Even if its more front loaded it should still overtake Civil War and Finding Dory to become the top movie of the year.

    Hey grace had a question the YA (young adult) book to film adaption was once the biggest thing in the Hollywood industry with most of those films making huge money at the box office but now that trend seems to have died with mostly all of these films out now not doing well or just failing miserably at the box office what do you think the creators behind Hollywood's newest biggest trends ex comic book/superhero movies/live action fairytales movies can do from meeting the same fate or do you think this is inevitable cause audience taste will always change absolutely love your shows and watch you every single day and would be amazing to see my question in morning movie news thanks and keep up the good work ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

    Im not surprised by Moana at all. I have a 5 yr old daughter and my wife runs a dayhome, so I am around kids and young girls all the time and Moana simply wasnt a hit or even an anticipated movie amongst the group, it held very little appeal. I could see it under performing from a mile away before release. However, by the same line, SING is going to be a monster hit. All the kids are talking about it.

    Hi Grace Question????? So for the past few years I have been writing
    some short stories that are acting like lead up to my first full novel
    that Im writing right now. Just recently a friend showed my “shorts” too
    someone at the publishing house she work at and their being bundled
    into a book to be released before my first full novel. So my question is
    that if one day my books get to a high enough popularity and a movie
    studio wants to turn my books into movies how much control could I
    reasonably have over that process. I known I wont have the same level of
    power that J.K. Rowling has, but Im afraid that no movie studio would
    keep my characters interacted when adapting them to a movie. Hollywood
    does not have anywhere near a good track recorded with gay male
    characters. Because my main characters do not fit into the hyper
    effeminate stereotype of gay men that Hollywood only seems to permit it
    seems way too likely that a studio would change one of my two main
    characters to be a woman so that it would be a heterosexual
    relationship. How could I stop that form happening within just turning
    down the chance to have my books made into movies? Love your channel
    Grace, my boyfriend and I have been watching your videos way back when
    you were on the Watcher. Keep up the good work, and hope you have a
    marry polar vortex this year. I know not everyone is as good with the
    cold as us Minnesotans. ;)

    I think that Sing opening number is far too low! The trailers have gotten a lot of traction online and all the kids I know are very excited for it. I'm thinking a Wed-Sun opening of 80+ million is very likely.
