I absolutely love how you address the intensity in which Neil attacks the toms as it is vital to recreating the distinctive sound of the fill. Love these lessons!
@Michael Ramsey Absolutely Loved Your Video! I'm so glad that I seen it!! Neil Peart is who inspired me to start playing the drums, and will alway's be my favorite drummer! And thank you so very much, for breaking down Neil's,"always beautiful but hard to figure out drum fills!!" AWSOME JOB!!!!
I get Neil, he was my first drum hero and the reason I permanently switched from Bass to Drums. It took me many years of practice to get to a point that I felt good about my progress and it helped every other aspect of my playing. I have a lot of Rush songs memories that I can play along to and am still hearing new things in his playing. It's a joy for me. For many years now I have been working on getting better at internalizing TooL to this day Danny Carey is my biggest challenge. Have you spent much time with that Music? As always great video and thanks.
Love Danny Carey! I haven’t spent much time with Tool’s music. There’s a great video with Dennis Chambers playing a Tool song cold. Pretty cool!!! Thanks for watching, James! It’s much appreciated!!
Lovin' the Tama circa 80s kit. I had a Tama 1978 ten piece SuperStar kit with concert toms, in the same mahogany color you have. I think the shells were birch. Best sounding kit I've ever owned. I play DW now and they're awesome, but I have fond memories of my old Tama kit.
Thanks Frank! I love my Tamas! You are correct, they are birch shells. I contacted the man who “Vibra-Fibed” Neil’s shells, and he told me 4 coats of polyurethane would do the trick. It made a huge difference, especially with the concert toms. Thanks for watching!🥁
There’s a video of RUSH from Presto that’s here on RUclips somewhere and you can really hear Neil’s snare clearly. All those little ghost notes… Thanks for watching man!🥁
Another great video. Subdivisions is one of my favorite songs to play. I’ve always had a problem with Drum Fill #2 for some reason. My brain and body just cannot meet up on that one.

Many thanks!!!🥁🥃
There's not many that understand Neil's approach to the kit. You, are one of the few exceptions. Well done.
Thanks very much! 🥃

Great work! Curious what pedals you use, or from which era? 😊 Speed Kings or the classic Tama? Thanks for the content and keep it up!
I’m using the old Tama Camco bass drum pedals. Great action!!!
Thanks a lot for watching man!
@@professor55 Right on thanks for the info!
