    Great video and project!! Thanks for making the video and sharing the build dimensions. Now I know what I'm going to be doing this afternoon.

    Thanks for kick starting my brain. I’ve been trying to buy the factory unit for a few hours, and all vendors are out of stock, and quoting four to six-weeks of lead time. This vid came up in the Google search, and will save quite a bit of money, and let me get on with finishing the garage organization project..

    Nice simple build! Made something similar for my Toughsystem Hardware Organizers. Definitely beats needing to unbury something from the bottom of the stack.

      @@Born2Make. thanks, loved it. Look forward to more showing what you've done with the foam when you get it all done. I also liked the dividers for the larger boxes. I ended up grabbing the TS bag that goes on top as my very organised stuff like drill, spanners, screwdrivers, level etc which I preferred to the foam at this stage but I did get the trays to organise to boxes a little.

      @@titerado thank you, it seems people are more interested in my dewalt stuff then other videos so there will be more to come.
      That’s a good way to handle them too. It’s pretty neat learning how everyone organizes their own tools.

    Dewalt needs to make a two drawer box with a 6" and 2" and a one drawer box with a single 8" drawer. It would be a game changer.

    • @Born2Make.
      @Born2Make.  Год назад +2

      Absolutely. I think they are missing out on a huge market with a lot of minor changes they could make to existing systems.

    • @MotorcoachTony
      @MotorcoachTony Год назад +1

      Those ideas are great! I hope they're really listening. When I contact them with "I wish you'd change this," they always reply quickly with gratitude for the ideas.
      I'm actually going to take the 2.0 roller box, and literally CUT the front out and create my own ONE BIG DRAWER for my circular saw so I don't have to unstack everything to get to it. I know it voids the warranty, but I care more about convenience. Wish me luck!

    Thanks for this. To heck with the dewalt rack, this way is far more customizable. I’m thinking of a slight angle of 1 or 2 degrees upwards on the arms instead of the shim on the side to lock it in..

    • @Born2Make.

      Glad I could help. That slight angle should be perfect.

    A shim glued on would work too to create that wedge for the handles to catch. 🤙

      I think you are right on point. They do have the tough system dolly cart that you can place the drawer on as the first box, but still not as sleek as a dedicated sliding drawer base on wheels.

    Why don’t you use an impact driver?

    • @Born2Make.
      @Born2Make.  2 года назад +1

      I get a lot more control using a drill (especially with pre drilled holes). The small atomic drill is perfectly balanced with a 2ah battery and is a joy to use.

    NEVER leave the chuck key in the chuck of your lathe! It is a missile ready to fire...
    Storing your tools in the workshop in toolboxes doubles the time it takes to get a tool- and put it back. So you don't, and they collect on the worksurfaces and you have to keep moving them around- and trying to find them. pegboard/cleats/cubbies best, drawers second best. And you already have the pegboard!

    • @Born2Make.
      @Born2Make.  2 года назад

      Thank you for the input! I live in a very humid environment and my shop isn’t temperature controlled so the boxes are saving many tools, especially with the foam insulation around them.

    • @Tensquaremetreworkshop
      @Tensquaremetreworkshop 2 года назад

      @@Born2Make. Yes, heard this 'reason' before. A de-humidifier is cheaper than the toolboxes, and also works on tools that do not fit into a box.

    • @Born2Make.
      @Born2Make.  2 года назад

      @@Tensquaremetreworkshop thanks for the info, I’m familiar with them however it’s hard for them to keep up in a shop with no insulation and gravel for a floor. From condensation/dew point location and ground moisture coming thru I don’t think that will cut it. Maybe after we get some new electric/concrete floors/ and insulation over to the shop after we recover from our house fire, that should work.
