This was definitely 79'. The Tempts were already looking at Ali in 77' to replace Dennis because they were leaving Motown for Atlantic Records. Dennis wanted to go solo. Ali had orange hair and The Tempts wouldn't let him get on stage with them like that. By 79, The Tempts were coming back to Motown and Dennis came back to the group BUT Ali was still on that back roster. After the reunion tour in 82', Dennis began to cut an album with The Tempts but left the group again in the middle of the recording. Ali had to help finish the album and on the next album, 'Treat Her Like A Lady' was released and the rest is history! What a GREAT singer! RIP Ali 🎤
