- Ollie Woodson (September 12, 1951 -- May 30, 2010) was an R&B singer, songwriter, keyboardist and occasional actor. He was known for singing with The Temptations beginning in 1984, and also worked with Aretha Franklin and Bill Pinkney. This Video Was Shot In 2004, At The ROOSTERTAIL In DETROIT.

Baby Ray, one of my few musical regrets is that I didn't go see him perform when I had the opportunity. I can only imagine what the rehearsals were like..One of the top 3 Temptations lead singers ever!

I saw Ollie and the Temps at the Chicago theatre on a fluke one nite after work, I flew home ,my wife and I got dressed and hauled A__!to the theatre.One of the BEST PERFORMANCES WE EVER SAW.Sadly my wife passed away a few years after Ollie also from cancer.I like to think he's up in Heaven performing for the KING! And I pray my wife June,has a front row seat!!😇😇

Come on now ?? When I first heard this song I thought man the Temptations? For real? Can’t be but I could hear that classic background singing.. Instantly I love the song.. Well as you know Otis, ain’t coming to see you co-wrote this song with Ollie. I said what? It’s as if Otis is not included in the fabulous five. Then Ollie is not mentioned. Ollie is one bad vocalist.. He’s got that raspy voice and when he hits that falsetto it side like the call of the wild. And I never heard that kind of run until he came along.. As matter of fact Dennis, Richard, Damon,Leonard, and many more kept the group current and in the spot light. But let’s get back to Ollie.. He put the stamp of Treat her like a lady and Soul to Soul. That time they appeared on Soul Train hosted by Don Cornelius it was classic.. And Ollie leads was just incredible.. No one will ever sing that song like Ollie he was in a class by himself.. that falsetto is incredible and yes he should have been in the rock n roll Hall of Fame.. LB March 10, 2023 Friday

Ollie was great!!! Listen to Ollie in this video. However, overall Dennis was the best Temptations lead in my opinion. All of us will debate who was the best Temptations lead forever. This is what makes the Temptations great. So many great singers.

they dont even make 'em like him, no more...that era of stone cold singers, is gone. Yea, Smokey is still around and so is Al Green and Stevie Wonder. But beyond those legends, you're scratching your head trying to think of which cats are even in Oliie's ballpark. Broke my heart when I heard cancer chopped him down.

If you hadn't mentioned it, I would've missed it! However, Ali-Ollie was an awesome vocalist either on lead or in the background. Like other Temptations, he died much too young.

Thank you for this video--it shows the consumate professionalism of this man! The lights were goiing on and off; the microphones did not appear to be working properly; there was not much in the way of background singing support, YET this man kept performing and in an excellent manner! God BLESS him. One question, please---what is the date of this performance?
