Whoever put this video together has no idea what they're talking about. The Jeep has stock control arms. In the description it says it has anti-rock but actually the anti-rock components are the sway bars. In the opening they talk about all these awesome suspension components but really only get into the king shocks and reed racing knuckles. What about the axles? What about the track bars and control arms? With stock control arms the travel will be limited and can't fully take advantage of the king shocks. With 40-in tires? You would definitely need to upgrade those. Otherwise the first time you hit a rock your wheels are going to fall off.... But hey that's cool that you have a 3,500 watt sound system.
Angel, thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. While we will never say we are the smartest or best at anything, we certainly try to purchase, build, and represent the nicest rigs we can find and afford. You mention some great ideas on how to further spend/build upon this particular Wrangler, though we would point out that there's always "more" someone can do to a vehicle...
But again, we appreciate your positive feedback, and on the next vehicle we will consider building and spending into oblivion. :)
Yea kind of spent money in the wrong places. the smittybuilt fenders... the audio system... couldve/shouldve bought control arms, drivelines, axle shafts, if you wanted to possibly run those 40's with out breaking. however you all did get a few things right, reid knuckles are great, the Kings are great, and the upgraded draglink&tie rods were all excellent purchases. quick question, what did you guys do for gearing? Thats a sport model, so 40's on 3.21's ugh that would be horrible
Brandon, thanks for watching and commenting. As we replied to another commenter, there's always more that can be done to a Wrangler build, and we spent a bit on aesthetics and entertainment equipment because we wanted to appeal to the show-car market as much as the off road one. Wheelin' is as much about the hang out between trails as it is the driving, right?
Also, while more money towards driveline and running gear is always fun, we did ensure the Jeep had Dana 60 axles and 4.56 gearing, plus a billet triple-clutch TC. It would've been good info for the video, but duration was important for the editing.
Through extensive testing (and even a rough 'n tumble weekend with me @ Walker Valley ORV in WA), the Jeep proved capable, impressive, and most importantly, reliable. :)
Would like more info on the supercharger
Is that fiberglass dei header wrap on the interior rollbars?? Why would anyone do that? Would be super itchy
392 hemi would rock my world.. Nice jeep though...💙
392 swap would be an awesome motor for this thing, but an expensive job. We appreciate the watch and comment!
no rock sliders???? good luck
That's a great looking Jeep, I like the frenched tail light buckets in the Smittybilt rear armor/fenders.
Obviously there’s a lot of money spent on this build but tired the main end of the video did I hear “Rough Country winch?” 😂 I don’t have anything against Rough Country and I had several of their accessories on my 4 door 2018 Wrangler JL Rubicon but considering “thousands” were spent on the suspension upgrades and of course a lot of money on other items why did you do a Rough Country winch? Just curious. Beautiful build though.
My boy got 392 power in the V6 that’s what I’m fuckin talkin about
Does anyone know what Co designed/built this JK? Who sells the tailgate? And what rear corner panels are these?
Nice build. Did the RIPP XL on my JKUR hardrock about a year ago. Really like the extra horsepower and torque. Fun to drive with the manual transmission. That said, definitely don't need for off road but makes on road driving a bit safer.
Holy cow, Yes! lil tank - looks sicker than any G-wagon - so cool, wouldn’t change a thing
Awesome! Thanks Cousin Jack!
Dammit I haven’t seen a JK of that caliber in a min! Nice & clean rig man 😎 well built
Thanks Freddy!
How much does this ripp XL effect fuel efficiency?
Bob, thanks for the comment: A decent amount, unfortunately. Now, whether this is directly attributable to the blower OR the size of this vehicle/tires & our foot getting heavier with the extra power, we cant be sure. But the dozer shown here like it's drink. :)
Well well built rig. Wish my jk looked and acted like that one.
20 psi Ripp? Just because the highest number on the boost gauge is 20 doesn’t mean it develops that much unless the needle hits 20. Nice rig btw👍👍
Hey Mike, thanks for watching and commenting. You're absolutely right, gauge display isn't indicative of blower capacity. That said, depending on specific conditions, pulley set-up, and particular stages in the vehicle's powerband (which, ill admit, aren't that sustainable or likely) the RIPP XL in this application can be made to apply upwards of 20psi of boost.
Again, it's tough to do. But hey, I'm selling a car over here! :)
What is the link to the seats?
Dayum beautiful JK!!
Nice car!
Sick build.
Clean
20 psi on a stock bottom end 3.6 with a stock trans is asking for a bad bad time. High compression motor stock with boost added? blown motor in the making.
Gucci, thanks for the watch and comment! Like we replied to another poster, I should've clearer about the actual boost being produced in this application as-is. With specific hardware and tuning, the RIPP XL can be made to produce upwards of 20psi, but as it sits, it currently makes closer to 10+.
Agreed, 20psi on a stock Pentastar would be alot. :)
HORSEPOWER MEANS NOTHING IT IS TORQUE THAT MATTERS.
Amazing rig
Thank you Virgil!
Not, a mall crawler !! Ditch that crap in the back and replace it with rescue gear !!
With all that and yall didn't even bother putting an AGM battery?
...not sure we've ever had a complaint over an Interstate battery before, but I suppose we could always do better. :)
@Tiki Motors Adventure Cars | TMAC Nothing wrong with interstate but at that level of build, I figure it would have an AGM for sure
To much power and tire for those axles without any mods.......also spend all that money on mods then have a rough country winch up front........wow
Without any axle upgrades, we agree; it would be too* much power. But as we specified in the comments, the vehicle has Dana 60 axles and 4.56 gearing.
Also, Rough Country has been reviewed multiple times in the last couple years regarding their winches. As it turns out, most of their offerings are as strong or stronger than units from Smittybilt or WARN.
Thanks for your comment Jay, let us know which winch manufacturer you prefer. :)
What size of serpentine belt did you put on it?
I considered a turbo on my JK but ultimately decided on swapping in a 6.4L Hemi, instead. Upgraded to a 8HP70 transmission while I was at it.
Trying to drive a JK uphill on tons was an absolute nightmare on that 3.6L Pentastar.
You have a good looking rig, mate. Nicely modded!
Amazing work!!!!
