👋ah Ben, so now you're taking over. best of luck, mate. us viewers can get to know you better, outside your Vegan shell. see you around the channel🎙
I really do enjoy these podcasts I hope you keep doing them.
This has legitimately become one of my favourite pods.
your'e human, things cant be 100 all the time
as an access customer for slam dunk, the reason it had such an uproar for the way they posted about it is because if rain makes your festival inaccessible, then it isn't really accessible in the first place. it's more of a fundamental problem with the festival itself and this just shone light on that.
i did still attend and had to stay at one stage all day because i couldn't really get around munch, but i still had a good day and there were LOOOOOADS of improvements -- i just think they could do a lot better for their access customers especially when there's hundreds of us!
Exactly this, it’s a festival in the uk. If they are not accessible when raining, then it’s not a viable location for a festival. If they can’t use the land as needed to create an accessible event, same detail.
It’s an event created with accessibility as an after thought.
After you mentioning the clicker I spent so long through this podcast thinking about when the clicker needing clicking 😂
You'll be pleased to know the clicker is now gone!
Wow, breaking news. Rip 🙏 🪦 clicker
Mary, DMs are so tough on feet. Stuff with paper and stretch them . Wear them round the house as much as possible. A tip to stop blisters, put Vaseline on the areas that might rub or apply plasters before hand . I get blisters sometimes too and it’s very painful . Happy belated birthday to Rob. Thanks for showing us Slam Dunk . Take care everyone, and it’s appreciated that you put up with all sorts and are tenacious. You really entertain me as I’ve had different experiences myself . Sliding mud , rain , great laughs , good food( chicken noodles mostly ) stranded and had to get a shared taxi( shorty me in the dog car compartment lol) and work like a few hours later . All worth it as it’s an experience. You never forget good times .
Me and my friend came and spoke to you guys on your way into south and we came away thinking isnt it great when the people you look up to are as nice as you think they are. Hopefully most people get you guys have a job to do so would expect you to be headed somewhere so don't stress about that too much haha. See you guys at download 😊
'Plaque's too heavy'. Ben should really get more credit. 😆
You're telling me!
Great pod as per, the time goes by so quickly. Love this trio 💙
'technically capable people' cant get the framing right... my bad!
ben is ready to rock and the podcast is ready to look better than ever!
I reckon you lads should do a wide shot with all of you in it, if there is a need for a clicker just use it for alt angles?
OUTBREAK upload loads of very high quality footage of all their sets. I really hope you see this Rob, but seeing the TPD crew do some crowd surfing and stage diving with like an action camera would be INSANE. Its something else. There is no other event like OUTBREAK, even outside of the UK.
Instead of a clicker have you thought about recording both screens at once on OBS and then just edit multicam? Or would that be too much editing?
I did this way back for a video, just doubled the OBS recording width to 3840x1080 instead of 1920x1080. Then in editing split the two. Might be a bit much but it would save the clicker from being needed at all.
Btw, this is my favourite trio for the pod
@BulletFever409 rob dont need no more editing
It looked like a rough fest but the chocc edit might have been one of my favorite bits ever. Sometimes the real deal is just the real deal. I appreciate seeing your honesty.
Ben did a good job on this 😊👍
Personally not sure you need to cover SD North & South. They're identical line ups/crowds/vibes. You're from Leeds, its on the Sunday. Having Saturday off and being fresh and done Leeds properly would have made for a better video imo.
love all the recent content and have really noticed the change and drive towards more dynamic content. I was just wondering if you had thought about having someone to lead the pod that is nothing to do with the other videos so that they can keep the pod moving forward and dynamic from the other vids.
Thanks for the love! We certainly have and it's kinda why I've took on the pod. I mean that and to give me a platform to prove to people I'm not actually Chris...
I've been binge watching every TPD TV video since I found the EDC vid. I've clocked in at least 15+ hrs so far you guys work/party hard lol. Will definitely join the Patreon keep up the great work
Love the background view. Well done to the guy I didn't like..... lol you're the must improved 👏 and a new fav of mine.
1:00:53 Absolutely this. I miss the old style videos when it was just you guys dossing about and fucking around without really much of an agenda beyond showing you guys having a good time at a festival. Yes. I'd love to see more of that shit.
would love to see you guys do some smaller festivals. and I know you prefer festivals up north (which is understandable) but we have some banging festivals down south I think you guys would really enjoy. e.g. Balter Festival in Chepstow, Love Saves the Day in Bristol, British Summer Time at Hyde Park & Hospitality in the Woods in London. Also it would be really cool to do Boomtown Fair vs. Boardmasters as it's always been on the same weekend and they have a bit of a competition with each other so would be interesting to compare them. Boardmasters is on the beach as well so would definitely be something different
Raz is so quick to blame attendees of festivals for any mishap, the initial post deffo could have been written for better optics but he jumps to saying 'nothing wrong' 'everyone just whinges'
I don't blame attendees - I just think most people working in the live music industry are doing their best to make sure everyone has a great time. Fests like Download make it look easy cause they're massive. SD are still a small fest from Leeds
I love to watch ya'll for the posivibes. I understand you guys need to cover the festival and what they have to offer but once you've already covered the festival once....im just here for the shenanigans yall come up with. I am interested in what you guys think of the line up and how the festival did that year but 80% of why I watch is to see what shenanigans yall come up with.
love these pods, 4K would be even better though ;)
Never thought I'd be speaking about Leeds United on a TPD video. However “Death of the Club” refers to the way Red Bull has gone about renaming teams and altering the heritage of the teams they own/work with (Red Bull Salzburg, RB Leipzig, New York Red Bulls etc. However counterpoint, Really cool front of the shirt sponsor.
This has been the best podcast for a while
The setup was so much better all sat at the table
Na it wasn’t
Give me a chance, I've only been at it at week!
Maybe next time it makes sense to just send half the squad to one site and half the squad t’other when festivals are split like this and the bands are repeating.
P.S. Rob missed Ben’s solid joke about field reports.
Any idea why all lineups have been hard to book this year? Definitely seeing that on festivals across the board. Maybe it's just that not as many artists are touring albums this year
Really enjoy the pods were you guys just talk about random stuff
you should offer bands a vlog for their gigs, see the show, review the venue, buy some merch, Patreon could choose where you go
Not what they’re about
Solid crew that
funny moments from Slam Dunk was Ben telling Rob "about how he's trying to listen to that one song". Jack in attendance was unexpected, whatta mayhem. it's funny watching him :-) get him in again, Rob.
Raz is really good on pods. Brings alot to the dynamic.
Great on pods, great in vids, all around top lad.
Innit. His and Jake's EDC one last week was mint.
I'd love an ep where we just talk about going to the tip and general house maintenance. That's on brand, right?!
as a man who is very aware of how I stutter and fumble my way around words - thank you
I wish I could stan anything as hard as Raz stans Slam Dunk's organisers and social media team 🙏
Just pissed myself at download lmao.. had a piss bottle set up so i wouldnt need to step out in the mud and avoif the hassle just for am outside piss.. so anyways got a piss bottle while i was half in my sleeping bag.. but i underestimated my stream and it was at an awkward angle i iust pissed a whole bunch in my sleeping bag lmao
So I sent a PO box parcel almost 2 years ago.... will it ever get opened
Will you guys be at Glasto this year?
you guys should try book festivals more based on lineup be extra critical with the ones youve already been to
p sure there was wide awake and several others in london that weekend with cracking lineups
no hate just thoughts love
The problem is they barely like any music and only listen to pop shit. All the small bands on the lineup was great but they didn't bother their arse. It's tough to keep interested in music festivals when you don't really like music
I prevail are bigger than ymas and were on the lineup
I just realised how much of a good bromance raz and rkels have.
I didn't go to Slam Dunk but went to Live at Leeds the day before and I completely agree that the city version is better (if the line-ups are decent)
You did great ben
I have an American suggestion for the future (is this the right place to suggest? prob not lol). Might not be your vibe at all, but Jazz Fest in New Orleans is a blast and is such a great party town, feels like you guys might enjoy???!!
Raz looks under the weather.
I literally was lol
32:25 I've lived near Salisbury all my life, went to school there and drove by Stonehenge every day on the school run. Been to solstice many many times. So. This whole little conversation is kinda hilarious to me. Can confirm, yes, significant religious historical site, but, also, just some rocks hanging out, being rocks. 👀😂😂😂😂
Do you not just get on any train in the North?
My mrs said who the fuck is laughing like that. It was Ben and now it’s really apparent. 😅
Wheres the labrador at ❤
The woman with a psychology degree effectively manipulates a social situation to her advantage. SHOCK
luckily i was at south not north, weather forecast was rain for north all month, why didn't they hire grates to go on the field for parking. it is slamdunks fault for that cock up. south was great tho, no complaints
Haha quality I also got scammed by the same company in Leeds fun times.
if u get mechanical keyboard get silent keys pls
outbreak fest dons better be listening 👀
Surely just one cam on everyone is easier? Or go back to the old way? Ben is a fantastic “host” if that’s what you call it.. no offence Dan 🤣
What happened to Dan hosting the podcast?
he's useless
Oi! 🎉partyyy
You guys sound bored.
What about including a few really big US festivals to your line-up?
Maybe start at Bonaroo? Bonaroo looks like a really fun fest. Also, Boston Calling. What about Riot Fest?
There are so many other festivals than Slam Dunk. F* Slam Dunk.
Are you new here? They’ve literally just done 3 festivals in the states
Aldi scan your items before you’ve even done it
Nowt wrong with moaning about the bands being shit if the bands are shit. Calling a spade a spade init
