Nice landing! I put the AtomRC camera gimbal on mine. It's less that twenty bucks and mounts the the whole unit on the top to keep it in the air. I have the pan assigned to the left slider so I can look over the shoulders.
Thanks! A buddy of mine has that, he hasn’t finished his plane yet though. Are you liking how it works? I was thinking I would get one once I got my flying down pretty good. I haven’t done an auto tune or auto trim yet and I think I need to so my wing flies better.
Thanks man, I appreciate your comments! I have opened up the vent near the O3 a bit and it was recommended here in the comments to run it at 2.7k @60 FPS so I will try that after work today. Take care and have a great weekend!
Most times with these Digital VTXs they need to be mounted outside the fuse for extra heat dissipation, vents and scoops just don't seem to draw in enough cool air.
Yeah I’ve discovered that’s really my only option. They all run so freaking hot and then other electronics get hot as well. I’ve seen a few people have success with everything internal but I’m thinking they fly in much cooler temps?
not having the second antenna on the o3 can cause the rf signal that would go to that antenna to reflect back into the transmitter chip causing it to overhear or fry.
I’ve read it’s usually ok to fly with one but results will vary (from DJI). In my case with this O3 I have no choice since the other connector ripped off in a crash. I have some 5v fans coming and will try a couple and if that doesn’t work I’ll move it outside the fuselage and maybe put a heat sync on it.
@smithe68 they sell a cnc heat sink ment for drones that u bolt around the 03... but yeah alot of people have to mount on outside there so dang sensitive
I agree. I opened up the canopy for some more air flow and am also going to drop it down to 2.7k@60fps which was suggested will help keep it cooler over 4k@60fps.
@@smithe68 also whats your output? do you have it armed as if it was connected to a fc? that would also be my concern. obivously more power output means more heat. if the processor overheats/ in power saving it uses a differnt codex that has a worse proccesing settings to keep the 03 from overheating. in fpv its wide open always moving so we just wick the heat away. however it seems to be in the cavity of the dolphin. so adding two fans would be the best one for ingress and one for egress. but you do it right you can probably get away with one fan for ingress creating a postive airflow in the cavity. with doing 2.7k would add optimal video to heat ratio. but adding a fan would probably get you back to 4k thats just my opinion. i been doing alot of research lately on this, since im looking to add a 03 to my traxxas since im not a great pilot.
@@WhiteTrashFPV it’s setup with a fc so doesn’t go to full power until I arm the plane. It definitely need more air flow, especially as it gets warmer. I’ve never had a problem in an FPV quad but it’s definitely an issue installed inside the plane. I did another test today with larger venting in the plane and it still got hot, I forgot to change it to 2.7k. I’ve made that change and will test that again tomorrow. I was going to install a fan but the only one I have is 12v and I would rather do 5v since there are a lot of 5v connections on the flight controller. I ordered a 4 pack of 5v fans that will be here tomorrow so I can try that. If that doesn’t work I will 3D print a holder and move the O3 to the outside of the plane, which I really don’t want to do.
That's fair. I honestly think with adding fans will help. Maybe even fashioning a heatsink. I mean your literally 9/10ths the way there on this one. Keep it up!
That was a great flight! Nice to see how fast you are progressing with your planes. I can’t wait to see what comes next!!
Thanks brother! It's getting really fun now, looking forward to more fun flying and maybe some following/formation stuff!

Nice flight, pilot! That's unfortunate about the overheating, but I'm sure you will resolve that soon. Safe travels, my friend. ❤

I wonder how it is able to work in the Dji Avata 2 without over heating because it is completely sealed in.
Dude that looks good with the 03 unit.
Thanks, I’m really liking it and it looks pretty smooth.
Nice flying. Do you record with Rocksteady ? Also less heat when recording in 2.7 k at 60 fps I think. Happy flying.
Thank you, I’m still really new to flying wings. Yes this was with Rocksteady. Thanks for the tip on recording at 2.7k, I’ll give that a try.
Where is that? The Area.
Selamat pagi sahabatku sukses dan semangat selalu ya💪💪👌♥️♥️
Good evening and thank you so much 🙏🏽
why do you have only one antenna connected to o3 air unit?
It’s a damaged O3. One of the UFL connectors broke.
Great experience 😊
Thank you 🙏🏽
Did you ever come up with a solution for this one? I recently put an O3 in my dolphin and I’m dealing with overheating, even with a fan.
I ended up cutting a space for it and mounting it in the lid after 2 fans and a heatsink weren’t helping.
@@smithe68 ahhh okay okay, I was fearing that I would have to do the same thing 🤦♂️ thanks bro!
@@Nastee_FPV yeah, it definitely isn’t ideal but I just couldn’t figure out any other way. Pretty frustrating. Good luck brother!
Great Erik ✈️💪
Thank you!
also, if this the orv park?
Yes it is
@@smithe68 and the rangers are not freaking out? lol
@@WhiteTrashFPV rarely see rangers but I've been out there and ranger has gone right by and not said a word at all.
@@smithe68 thats fair! it seems like the perfect place to fly but i always been scared to since its a "state park" and they have that dumb rule

im not sure you have enough air going through to the 03, i would, if you can add a fan
