Aftermarket head units often have decent crossover high pass/low pass. Makes sure to line those up with frequency response of the speakers and you’ll have cleaner sound and maximize whatever power you feed them.
I have jbl speakers at home for about $200 and they sound great for the price. What's amazing about them is I never feel like I need more bass or treble. Everything just sounds natural and right.
@ much cleaner sound then stock but bass a little weak but ok and don’t listen to heavy bass music. Still, pretty decent speakers for 70’s type music and talk radio which is what I listen to mainly.
I installed the Mopar speaker upgrades in my car around 2014. The Mopar speakers were made by Kicker. They were better than the stock speakers but they still sounded muddy. It sounded like someone trying to sing through 5 covid masks. I just installed the 6 1/2 inch 3 way JBL Concert Series speakers. The JBL's sound much more clear. I can actually hear the words on the songs now.
Replaced My Factory Speakers in My 2018 Mazda CX-5 w/BOSE With a JBL Club Series 3.5" (Center Ch.), JBL GTO Series 6.5" (Front Doors), and Will Be Replacing The Rear Door Speakers With 5.25" JBL Club Series - Loves Me Some James B. Lansing Speakers!!!
My front stock speakers on my 2010 civic 2dr are going out and like you i swapped the head unit and nothing else. Crazy we're looking up the same things haha
So you used the same speakers I just bought... Hmmm... I saw that these were 3-ohm speakers, and everybody always says you should use 4-ohm, but I guess apparently JBL tweaked these differently so they can work in 3-ohm instead, but hiked the sensitivity up so it doesn't draw more power from the head unit? I just wanna make sure these are actually okay for me to use, because I don't want to destroy my head unit by using the wrong impedance speakers..
@@JR14Channel Yup, I've been using these speakers for about 2 and a half weeks now, and sure enough-- it's been great! They sound AWESOME! And they sound SUPER clean. :3
Bought similar ones for my mk4 golf thanks to ur vid cause the front ones are SO FKIN TRASH they can’t handle any bass at all without completely destroying my ears with just pure rattle noise, planning to install rear ones too but that’s supposedly harder cause I have to remove the rear door cards n stuff ah
boy if you don't put an amp on that head unit you doing the most, that head unit is fake advertising power the amps are peak it gives 7 watts rms per speaker at most. you need good 20 watts rms or more on those for real test. and that amp is the real work.

You should amp it, its definitely worth it with.
Guess I have to look for a budget amp that will work well!
@@JR14Channel Crunch or hifonics seems like it could be something for a budget build.
@@JR14Channel Rockville 5 channel for 190 something. Might as well find a budget sub and box off amazon as well.
I thought, the front speaker is the component set. Did you also get the high frequency with that coaxial set?
I sure did! These speaker for sure definitely did the trick in making the overall music experience better.

Yea the civic was 1000 dollars so I found the cheapest headunit I could find to get the job done.
The speakers are going to absorb more sound? No sir. That's not what speakers do
