      I mean.. of COURSE you’re not the only one. We live in an image-obsessed society where the worst thing a woman can be is OLD. I don’t care how many “50 and Fabulous!!” IG accounts pop up in the next eight minutes, that is not what the western hemisphere celebrates.
      The first time a guy says “excuse me, ma’am” instead of “hey, girl” marks the beginning of the end. Panic ensues, and we start our search for serums, creams and facelift tape. Any woman who says she’s never experienced that is either full of sh¡t or a unicorn. The only one. Not even close. We are all sisters here.

      A few days ago, I was looking at reviews for a cream, and landed on some random site where there was an article with pictures of the Kardashian sisters during a day at a med spa where they laid around having all of their various ‘procedures’ done, right? One of the photos was of Kim Kardashian having something done to her foot. The photo was captioned: “Kim has admitted that she’s always been very self-conscious about (wait for it…) a scar on her toe”
      HER TOE.
      This is what we’re contending with! Every day! This insane standard of perfection that only women who are millionaires can afford to sustain. After absorbing crap like that online all day, of course it’s hard to then just sit back and watch ourselves decay. Damned hard!
      Her TOE. She “admitted” that she was self-conscious about an imperfection ON HER TOE! Like it was some kind of epiphany or deep, spiritual breakthrough. 🤷🏻‍♀️?? 😂

      🙋🏻‍♀️ it really hit me hard when I noticed that no one was looking anymore. I didn’t turn heads like I used to. That might sound vain but it’s hard to take. If I was vain back then I didn’t know it. In fact I was always self conscious. You young ones enjoy it while you’ve got it! Don’t take it for granted. 😊 AND DON'T BE SELF CONSCIOUS! YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!

    So I wore for a few hours, no issues with tape lifting off, but on one side, the metal piece was digging into my face, I could also see it on the other side through my hair, but I colored it with a black sharpie and it took care of that problem. It's a fun simple option if needed!! For those who can't get the description box (click on down arrow to right of title on mobile), here are the links. I used the Art Harding but think the other might be better option: Art Harding's Instant Face Lift Tape - Dark $17.25 amzn.to/2UkmAth

    ....You already look really good, and this little product just made you look 8-10 years younger. Which I think is fine, because it's a personal choice if we want to use things to help us feel better about certain aspects of the inevitable ageing process. I'm 66 years young, and even at 56/57 , I looked 49 or 50.
    .....but we still age , and if a woman wants to use these, I say that's good, it's her own choice. Nothing wrong with that . I read the comment about " the fountain of youth , yes, it's sometimes taken too far. ...however, small things to feel better about yourself, I'm all for that. No different than using certain makeup tricks and techniques to look better, and feel good about how one looks. 🙂😊👌🏻

I think that, apart for a photo shoot, I would use this gadget to determine with a plastic surgeon what type and level of facelift I would like to have done. I dont get where all these annoying "we should accept our age and get older with class" or "we are just old bruh" are coming from. This video is just to show if a product works and it does. We should drop the hypocrisy and the political correctness. There is nothing, NOTHING wrong on trying to look better, look younger, unless it means harming yourself.
    It is clear these kind of products are for special ocassions, parties, family meetings, not mean to wear them everyday. Of course you have to love yourself for who you are but wanting to look nice has nothing wrong.
    If you are coming with that BS "I´m just old" just dont watch these kind of videos and keep your opinion for yourself, do not try to discourage people who are just trying to look better. We are not doing it for others, we are doing it because we love to look good for ourselves.

    I am rebooting my real estate career and planning to be on RUclips a lot. Right now, I have to budget myself very carefully, but I have been to a plastic surgery consult mostly for my neck, but the surgeon insisted I would regret not getting both the face and the neck done at the same time... and of course, the eyes would have to be done, too! I would have booked the surgical appointment that day, but the first date available was going to be in Dec and this was March when I went to the consult. I could not see obligating myself with a nonrefundable deposit so far out, as you never know what might happen or change in that time and I can't afford to let even the deposit amount evaporate if I can't go through with it. So, my plan is to basically do the Hollywood tricks with lighting and any other temporary measures until I sell enough houses to book a surgery date! Goals!
    You are so beautiful, btw! Thank you for this amazing demo! I've seen others that don't have the metal or the connector in the back that seem to do a good job, too. I am so grateful for the reviews!

    I think it really took off ten years and smoothed out your nasal labial fold and tightened the jowls. Of course you really look young anyway but this took any of the aging elements out of the picture for you. I can't wait to try the neck because who couldn't use a little tightening in that area! You don't look a day over 40 as you were and your hair style is very flattering. I'm going to get facial framing on my long hair too because that would help hide the tapes and I can't wait to get them for my 50 year Reunion coming up this year!

    Hi Lisa
    This was amazing.
    I like how you demonstrated it, showing that it is not that easy to get right.
    I could so relate, as at 61 years old, my skin is sagging due to damage from too much exposure to the sun these last few years!
    This was very informative.
    I suppose it's like having "threading" done without the actual surgery!
    So much fun to watch.
    Thank you for a great video!
    👌

    • @LisaMonique
      @LisaMonique  3 года назад +5

      You're so welcome! It is definitely something you can play around with and it's less invasive than a lot of other procedures. I've considered some other things, but while I notice the beginnings of sagging, I'm not at the point where I'm ready to take the plunge and try some thing other than what I can do at home at this point! But I won't rule anything out for the future 💕

  • @katrenco
    @katrenco 2 года назад +4

    Ive used these, and they work quite well, even for someone my age (mid 60s, with plenty of jowl to pull up & hold in place, unlike Miss Lisa, who really doesn't need them, although they did make a difference, even on her). The skin must be very well cleaned with alcohol (as done in the video). If you want to lift the jowls and some of the mid face, you do have to place the tape right in front of the ears and pull UP, not across, as Miss Lisa discovered.
    ~~~One thing she didn't do that I recommend....Once the tape is in place, press on it with your finger and hold it down firmly for 20-30 seconds. This assures that the tapes are well adhered and won't let go when put under tension.~~~
    If the skin is adequately cleaned, the tapes are correctly positioned and well adhered, and the strings pulled tightly enough & in the right direction, they definitely make a noticeable difference that I was pleased with.
    BUT (the dreaded "but"!) the trouble for me is no matter how I've tried to reposition and tweak this and there, they start to hurt my ears to the point that I inevitably can't stand it. I can't wear them for more than 3 hrs, tops, before I have to take them off, and it's always the same side, same spot that hurts first and worst. None of us are perfectly symmetrical, and that must be why it's always the left string/hook that gets me every time.
    The brand that I use has small hooks on the ends of the strings, and that's how the string attaches to the tape. The other end hooks to knots in the string coming from the other side of the face. That makes their size/length very adjustable....do you need them to pull tighter? Just put another knot in the string. EASY! They're very secure and very discreet IF you have hair long enough to cover the tapes. Short haired people are of out of luck, I'm afraid, no way to hide the tapes.
    Where the hook leaves the tape, it rubs on my ear & really hurts after awhile. If I put the tape in a different position or angle, the string doesn't lift my jowls as well, and that's why I wear them in the first place (although not so much anymore). But, that may not be the same for everyone, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend someone try them if they're really interested.
    ~~~In addition to what's already been mentioned, remember these tips: *The string is hidden under the hair, so get the right color string; black if you have brown or black hair, white if you're a shade of blonde or light to medium gray. *Get a brand with the hooks, not the kind Miss Lisa had, with all that clunky plastic that doesn't look like it would hold well if pulled tight. *Do not wait to try this until you're getting ready to go wherever you're planning to wear them for the first time. The kit comes with a generous number of tapes, plenty enough to practice at home until you figure out how to make them work for you. (Also, you can order more tapes separately if or when you need more.) *BE PATIENT. *The kit consists of small pcs of tape and a few short pcs of elastic string with some knots and small hooks. The goal of the product is to provide a subtle but perceivable, temporary lift, and expectations should be on par with that.
    If used as correctly, I think most people would be pleased with the result......and, hopefully, able to wear them comfortably (and I am not affiliated in any way with any brand of this product, just a customer of several years).

      @katrenco Год назад

      I use the "Secret Lift" Original or Pro. I think they still sell that brand, but any brand that uses the hooks and elastic strings should work. Also, I have found that if I trim the tapes so that they don't rub against my ear, it allows me to position them better and wear them longer. Still have problems with the string rubbing, but trimming the tapes helps. (Trim in a kidney shape and put the trimmed area next to the ear. Don't trim too much off or you may compromise their sticking power.)

    This seems very helpful for performances where stage lights are not our friend! I usually wear a headband or wrap, so the little clips wouldn't be an issue.

    Your hair is beautiful your face looks fabulous & no thanks to face tape I hear it’s worsen the sagging it stretches your skin out & makes it worst later on. Tfs!

      I can see that! Especially since as we age, our skin loses elasticity. I wouldn't want to do it every day, lol.

    You look great. Will have to try this myself. Thanks so much for sharing. Hope the tape stays on for a good amount of time as I have oily skin. God bless.

    You do have the perfect hair for this: thick, beautiful cut, lovely style (with good tape coverage!).

      Thank you Olina!, They definitely could work in a pinch! But I do wonder if you were hugging somebody or it was hot and sweaty, what would happen😂😂😂

      @@LisaMonique have you tried skin tight? Geek out of Water & Frugslista (mature beauty ladies on YT) too swear by but I just can’t bring myself to try.

      @@olinayoung6287 No I haven't. I did try some tightening mask from Peter Thomas Roth, but it didn't work.
