Thank you! This video saved my ass when one of my slide motors failed while the slide was out. Short and simple. Thanks!
Enjoy getting comments like this! Glad we could help. -Todd
Well done - short and to the point. Thanks!
Great advice if boondocking and the slider is stuck out (can't drive RV). This way you can at least get the slider back in and drive to a repair shop instead of hiring a rig to tow it to shop. Great idea about the 2x4 to hold slider in while driving.
Fantastic video
Thank you! -Todd
How would I get it to slide out if stuck in the in position so I can access the set screw?
You would have to pry the motor up from the inside and break the screw. Then push out. This is mainly to get it to the point so it can be pushed in to make it mobile and bring to a service center. It’s a much more difficult job when the slide is in.
can you sleep on the bed with the schwintek bedroom slide in?
Hard to say because so many different setups. And there may not be proper support at the foot of the bed. So safe answer is no I don’t suggest to do so.

Our apologies for not responding and it getting lost in the mix.
Haw do I replace the hole gears and realize?
That’s a pretty big operation that I suggest bringing to a dealer for repair. We unfortunately don’t supply videos for thing of that extent.
@@GreatAmericanRV the only thing is I living in this thing 24/7 365 day's a year
I removed motors and could barely push slide out in. Can’t pull it out. Why would it be so stuck.
@@stevengeary how big is the slide? Do you have people on both sides helping push evenly? There are various other mechanical issues that can cause it to be difficult. It’s a gear and track system so not going to flow as easy as on rollers. -Todd
Why can it NOT slide with the motor connected?
They have an electric brake on them that will not disengage until activated.
@@GreatAmericanRV I was told by Lippert that the motors have the electric brake, but it works by using a little reverse polarity electricity to through the wires. That they do not actually "engage" brake. Very similar to the way a slot car have a braking system. So if you remove all power , then they should slide.
Please, the next time you have a motor out of a unit. Verify which procedure is correct. And very nice video. Thank you.
The BEST way to fix a Shittech slide is to replace it with the VROOM system
Did you do that? Replace the system? What ballpark price did you pay for how many slides?
I don't recommend that U pull these screws out. I did and I am really really sorry for that, I didn't think it through. It has been a long worry. Don't do it.
This would be a last resort option if the slide cannot be overridden by the control. In which case there is no other way to get the slide in without removing the motor. The screw can be placed back in after the relation the system is done. -Todd
This is why engineers suck when you need to go to all this work instead of just hand cranking to close it. Engineers suck. Who brings a hand saw and 2x4s with you so you can repair something? Why not design a wrench to throw in back tool box to close slide? Because engineers suck. The old school ways work so much better.
