Exactly the info I was looking for but I’ll stay around cos I loved your art! Sub #262 🤗🤗🤗 I have a $31 toaster oven I bought 2 years ago for polymer clay (which I never do anymore, was a passing phase)....but I also have a heat gun so wanted to see what was better to use for shrink plastic for bag tags 🤗🤗🤗 P.S. 4:14 “*flies away” not fly’s away 🤗
Also do you think it would work better to maybe put a piece of parchment paper or some kind of non stick sheet on top to hold it in place & heat through it? I hope that makes sense.
I've actually never tried that! But I assume with the heat tool, it will just blow away the paper lol. But it may work in the oven 🤔 Best thing is just be ready to flatten it once it comes out
I always use parchment paper to line the pan with. I refuse it over and over many times. Also, you can get heat guns that do not blow air, I would think that would work better, at least for beginners?
Don’t use wax paper, it’s not meant for oven use which is why it melts and sticks to your pans. Use parchment paper or aluminum foil instead :) And I found heating the oven at 340°F works fine! And it shrinks fast enough to watch it happen, so maybe around 3 minutes or so? It varies for people, but that’s usually the time for me :)
Hey hi, love the comparisons. May I just ask, have you had any issues with resining your pieces? If not any future videos on how to please? Many thanks
Thank you ☺️ The only problems I've had are 1) the resin doesn't always cover evenly on the pieces (keychain pins, whatever I'm making) so there will be spots that look like they have bo resin. That doesn't always happen though. 2) if the resin isn't mixed properly, it won't harden and stays sticky for ever 😓 so make sure you have the correct ratios. I usually use the I've resin brand in the plunger to avoid this, but their resin in the store looks so yellow and old. I did buy a new resin I've never used before, I'll try to make a video on it someday soon 🤗 hope this helps!
Thank you soooooo much. I might try modge podging them first very lightly with a sponge roller. See if that helps. Thanks again soooo much. I appreciate your time and help xx 😘
UV Resin doesn't cure until you put it under UV, so you have plenty of time to work with it :) but I personally wouldn't leave it alone too long just to avoid any dust or dirt falling into it
In this video I bought a pack of shrink plastic that had images printed on it already, it's clear. But I usually use the frosted ruff n ready one for my other pins 😊
Sometimes, just a slight smell or some smoke but I think it's because of the markers I sometimes use. If they're only using colored pencils there shouldn't be any issue. But it does get VERY hot so depending on the ages of your students, they would need help from an adult. Hope this helps!
I think #6 plastic is the same as shrink plastic. If you want to color on it with colored pencils, you'd need to use sandpaper to rough it out first. Some of it is thicker than name brand shrink plastic though, so I'd say test it in the oven to see if it will shrink at the same heat for the same amount of time
I usually use a regular sized punch, I did have a smaller sized one but I gave it away 😭 idk what size it was, but a lot of different sizes pop up in Amazon 👍🏻 hope you find one...then let me know🤣
I'll Try it for you!! So sorry my reply is a million years late! I don't always get the notifications but I plan on making videos again soon and this sounds like fun haha! I'll try to get to it this week or next!
@@CarmenGarciaJMJ I feel the exact same way. I either go to home depot or Walmart.com to purchase my craft needs. I almost always save money there. Example: I buy my Mason jars at Walmart online for super cheap. I get 12 for $7, plus its free shipping on orders that are $35 or more. They cost $1 each at craft stores. I tend to buy 5 cases at a time to get the free shipping.
I use the shrinky dinks brand, the frosted ruff n ready. But in this video I used one that already had images printed on it. But usually the frosted one for my other pins that I myself color on
I put smaller pieces in glass jar and shove the heat gun in so they don't fly away
That's genius
Belles face when she was melting was ridiculously hilarious to me 🤣🤣🤣
Omg hey buddy. It's Tarra Howard. I'm on RUclips looking for tutorials and I came across your page. OMG this is so awesome. I love your videos.
Tarra hey!! Lol yes it's me haha! How embarrassing lol
You could buy the melting pot from ranger. Love the pieces.
Hi I'm new on your channel and I have a doubt that can I use hot iron which we use for pressing cloths plz tell
These shrinks dink’s are so cute! I now need to go out and buy some shrink plastic for these!
You can also use any #6 plastic, like from clear deli containers, etc. Reuse, Recycle! Lol!
do use pencils or markers on the pieces you shrank?
What type of plastic to use i have hard one(the food container) like its hard it is not sift kinda plastic
Hello, can you tell me can we use microwave oven for shrink plastic?

I saw on TikTok someone put their piece inside of a roll of tape so it didn’t fly all over the place
Which one is colored pencil n which is marker
How long do you bake them in the oven? Im having a hard time with the wax paper that keeps on sticking to my pan and shrinky dinks

Just follow instructions on the shrink plastic package ; mine says 340 degrees F and 10 seconds!
Did it hardened??

How fast do I need to put the uv resin under a uv lamp? Thanks for the tips.

Hi- Does the heat gun give off a weird smell? (Just trying to see if this amazing idea will work for my students in my craft club at school)

hi, i’m having a hard time in putting resin on my work the pen marks are spreading. how can i handle that?
What kind of pen markers are you using?
When we have recycling plastic, how would we know if it is shrinkable? In other words, how would we know it can be used for making shrinkable jewelry?

can i use a microwave
Do you Think a hair dryer will work?
I doubt it, the heat gun gets much hotter than a hair dryer
I tried the hair dryer but it didn’t work very well.
What size whole puncher do you use 💕
I usually use a regular sized punch, I did have a smaller sized one but I gave it away 😭 idk what size it was, but a lot of different sizes pop up in Amazon 👍🏻 hope you find one...then let me know🤣
Can you do this on an oven toaster?
yes. Make sure to 'preheat' the oven by leaving it on to heat fully before you stick them in.
We only have an olddddd oven toaster(american heritage oven toaster) 😭 is that okay?
It should be...not sure though lol
Can I use oven toaster?
Yes
can i use some pan layed with alumunium foil and cover the pan? cuz i don’t have oven and heat gun😭
You mean try to heat it in a pan?
Carmen yeah, and i put the pan on the stove, could u try it for me? cuz in my country shrink paper it’s so expensive its like 1.50 dollar/sheet😭
@@khonsanaw7416 you can also use any #6 plastic! 😁

I have a heat gun that I bought from freight harbor tools that does not blow air. Cost me $5 with a coupon. Regular price is $10.
I always feel ripped off at craft stores when I go to a hardware store. 🙄 thanks for the tip 🥰

Can we use iron??
I've never tried that

Shrink paper, or just an acetate number 6 will do

Did you leave it in long enough? And on high enough heat?
Some brands need different heat/time than others in the oven
@@CarmenGarciaJMJ what temp is the optimum temp for shrink plastic to shrink properly?
Hobby Lobby no longer takes coupons. 😑
can i use ordinary acetate sheet?
No I don't think so
We can just use a PRESSURE COOKER.
LOL! I don't know about that...have you tried it?

u tried that? how did it work out? what was the process? that's amazing
