To anyone who thinks they can’t draw-Sika I’m looking you lol-drawing is a learned skill. When I started art school I couldn’t draw and one of my professors sat me down and had a serious but very encouraging talk about want to be an artist vs working to be an artist. He said I needed to practice a lot more so I asked for extra work and he gave me a list of exercises and ideas and I drew my heart out. At the end of the semester he asked me to come talk to him after class, I was terrified. He made me take out my first and last assignment of the semester and look at the difference. We were both in shock at how much I had improved. I’m not saying I can draw anything and everything, but I’m pretty damn good at what I do. And if I can do it, you can too. And thank you both for bringing me back to my childhood and remembering days of shrinky dinks! So much fun!!! Love you both to pieces!
This is so true! I think a lot of people believe drawing ability is something you’re born with but it doesn’t have to be! I decided I wanted to teach myself to draw in my late twenties. You can learn to draw at any age if you want to, and you shouldn’t be afraid to practice and make things you don’t love - not every drawing has to be perfect and even the “bad” ones teach you what techniques you like or don’t 👍

I just wanted to say thank you so much for this video! I watched it with my son who is 7 1/2 and has ASD and ADHD. He absolutely loves watching cash or trash, and laughs like crazy when you and Sika say “In Da Trash!” Lol. Once he saw this kit he just had to ask “Santa” for it (5 days before Christmas…yikes…). Fortunately Amazon was able to have it here in time to go under the tree. Fast forward to yesterday and he asks if we can try the kit. He LOVES it! One of the rare things he actually sat and focused on for more than 15 minutes. I never would have found this kit if it wasn’t for your video, so from the bottom of this mama’s heart THANK YOU!! ❤️
When you do these you should do them inverted! The colors and everything are smoother on the opposite side! So definitely try doing them inverted and flip them around to see a bit better results!
Sakura glitter pens are amazing on shrink plastic, I love it, you just have to remember to give it time to go back to its original size... made embellishments, key chains all sorts You can also use a craft heat gun to shrinkage plastic, and to make sure its flat, just use the bottom of a glass to flatten it. Remember the plastic is returning to its original size, during manufacture its stretched into thin sheets. Great video as always jackie. Hope you are mending well and managing some crafting, sending much love x
The glitter condenses, and because it's superfine in the pens the results are amazing. I found the darker colours gave the best results and we're opaque! If you can get white shrink plastic the colours are better. Also use an alcohol ink pad and use rubber stamps, great for jewellery, card and sculpting embellishments
We used to make shrinkydinks all the time when I was growing up and I've made them a few times with my daughter. The plastic charms were used on necklaces, bracelets, as keychains, etc. The only craft supply I've used on the shrink plastic is colored pencil.
When I was a child, my mom used shrink foil for decorating easter eggs. I do not know if it is only a Thing in germany to bring in greening twigs and decorating them with wooden figurines and blown out eggs. But that was her Idea to use those decorative foil for.
Hack: place a shrunk, uncolored piece on top of a colored shrunken piece and set again in the oven, you'll get amazing fake blown glass. You can even put a pin for an earring in between and get pretty fake glass earrings.

Back in the mid '70s....we had Shrinky Dinks!!! A kit that had many different pictures to color n even holiday kits. Christmas day was crazy with the lovely strong smell of plastic! We made necklaces, bracelets, key chains n charms. Thanks for the flashback 🤪🥰
Hi Jackie! Thanks a million for posting this video. My husband and I are home with COVID-19 and this totally brightened my day. Thanks for always putting a smile on my face. Lots of love from South Africa ❤️ !
In the 70s, the brand was Shrink-a-dink (or something like that) and they were fun. We made lots of things with them. It's fun seeing it making such a comeback. I had so much fun with it as a kid.
I LOVED shrinky dinks as a kid. I had a bad depressive episode a few months back and ordered some shrink plastic and colored pencils off Amazon. Spent two days playing with it. My drawing of my calico kitty is my favorite keychain now!
Hope and pray your surgery went well and that your doing well in your healing process. Know we are here for you when your all healed and ready to come back to us but take your time. Love your grains 💜💜
Hi Jackie! I would like to tell you that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!! Your videos help me be happy when I am sad and I would like to thank you for that!!! And remember YOU CAN NEVER BE TOO SALTY!!!
Copics are a transparent medium, so it being pretty transparent on the plastic doesn't surprise me much (tosca and colored pencils are opaque). Also, the effect that happened with the copics was probably due to a reaction to the film or coating they use on the plastic
Thank you for comparing the different pens and pencils. I have done some shrink plastic projects myself. My favorite is the little garland I made for my Percy Jackson shelf. It has tiny flags with the symbols of the Greek Gods on them, the symbols are drawn with permanent marker and after shrinking I covered the back with acrylic paint since I wanted a bigger variety of colors than just using colored pencils, and some metallic shades. As a little note, clear shrink plastic needs a lot of layers of the paint, after shrink, to be opaque. Your videos always make me smile. I hope you are recovering well.
I always feel a little envy because where I live, or art supplies are expensive or non existent. But it cheers me up see you guys testing stuff and doing art
The same thing happens in my country. The only choice I have is to buy online. And many times my opcions are very limited because the shipping is very expensive or the seller dosent send it to my country. I also don't have dollar stores.
It's really nice to have a video of yours to watch on my birthday (today). (-: It's a quiet one, so this helps me to feel happier. Jackie, I hope you are getting better and better and better, and are in less pain than before.
This kind of videos are very helpfull! I work in a kraftstore in Québec and we don't get to test the products very often, so the video will really help me to recommend the right things to the customers. Thank you for the great work!
This kit looks amazing. I use shrink plastic often, for various projects, but I have always struggled with the best medium for coloring. Colored pencils work but they flake off a bit when shrunk. I definitely recommend sealing the side you colored on once the plastic is shrunk. Any sort of polyurethane gloss will do, and I imagine so would resin. You can make keychains by punching a hole in the plastic (BEFORE you bake it) with a hole punch. Thank you for doing this one!
I hope all is well with your recovery. I use shrink plastic to make pins and jewelry. I’ve tried a lot of materials and acrylic paint markers come out the best. I’ve used alcohol based markers and they run. I love the material because you can make so much detail and once it shrinks the details stay. Awesome medium. I’ve made jewelry with them too
I wonder if you could use the shrink plastic to make customized pieces to go onto your custom figures/sculptures? I'd love to see you try that out. Maybe some miniature swords? Or some ears. Maybe even some really mini earrings to put onto them?
I hope youre feeling well Jackie! I cant wait to get your kit, feel like a child again being so excited to get it! As a mother of 5 (soon to be 6) its nice to have you, moriah and other youtubers be my happy place 😊
Interestingly, we did some rock painting and found that coloured pencils last so much better in the sun. The marker pens faded away after about a month. The coloured pencils lasted about a year!
I’ve never tried shrink plastic but I recognise that footage as Moriah Elizabeth’s channel, I love your friendship. I’m trying to support all this pre recorded videos. Sending you love & light as you recover from your spinal procedure. Shrink plastic sheets btw 😂 1. Sharpie (I like that see through effect) 2. Alcohol markers 3. Pencil 4. Poscas (I don’t have any so I can’t replicate the effect)
I love making magnets out of shrink plastic. From my personal experience, the prismacolor pencils are definitely the best. The posca markers are good as well, but if you’re covering a large area they tend to get streaky and the vibrant coverage is lost. They also have a bad habit of flaking off when you’re trying to add a top coat to seal the project. These are all adorable though. You’re making me want to craft more again.
I think the translucent effect of the Sharpies could be really fun to play with, and that kit looks like it's actually a good deal. I hope your recovery is smooth and with the least amount of pain possible!
I am relatively new to shrink plastic myself. I do have a tip for after shrinking. I spray my drawn pieces with workable fixative or mod podge to seal everything in. Then I dome it with a little uv resin so it’s nice an shiny. I sometimes paint the back of my pieces with either white or black to make them stand out.
This video could not be more perfect! I had just gotten a pack of shrink plastic to try out and wanted to know the best supplies to use on it! I have used cheap crayola crayons and after shrinking, the clolors smudged off.
Sika: Can we try Crayola? Jackie: Oh! Good idea! I like where your mind is going! Editing Jackie: *And then I went ahead and forgot that idea.* Me: *-And then I went ahead and forgot that Crayola existed.-*
How did it go how’s your healing going? I really hope it went well because your my favorite youtuber when I’m sad I watch your videos and it makes me forget why I’m sad
I really got into this stuff when I was a kid. It was a brand name (shrinky dinks) that was easy to use because I could use a toaster oven and aluminum foil pie plates. I was amazed by the fact that the lightly colored plastic would become totally opac when it baked into its final shape!
The package seems like a pretty good deal since they actually do include everything you need (including a hole punch which really surprises me). I used to love shrink sheets when I was a kid.
Shrinky dinks! They are so much fun. My husband and I made so many little doodads, magnets, rings, necklaces, and christmas tree ornaments, as a date when we first started dating. We still do them every once and a while. I love watching them curl.
I love doing shrink plastic with my kids!! I made an awesome dysautonomia keychain with shrink plastic and a drawing I did 😊 its so fun to watch it shrink too!! Love your videos Jackie you are amazing!! Also hope you are feeling better after your back procedure!! Sending healing hugs! ❤
I use shrink plastic a lot to make pins and I have some tips 1. DO NOT USE CRAYOLA/WATER BASED MARKERS-they will smudge like heck 2. When you use alcohol markers/sharpies, I always paint the background(usually white but you can use other colors) to get rid of the transparency 3. To make the plastic flatter, you can roll a glass over it immediately after taking it out of the oven 4. There’s different kinds of shrink plastic-use the textured kind so the material you use stays on better 5. Alcohol markers WILL get darker when it shrinks, so make the drawing a tad lighter than you expect. I made lil swatches so I knew exactly how the colors will turn out when they shrink I’ve never used Poscas or colored pencils on it, but after seeing this I’ll have to try!😊
I loved shrinkles as a kid. I made presents for people with them. I like the pencils best as well, unless going for a strong cartoon style, then I'd go posca I've finally got skillshare! Full year! I'm so excited!!
When Shrinky Dinks came out in the 70s, my mom painted Christmas ornaments. The paint that came with the kits then was like stained glass paint, and the results were so pretty! By the 80s, they switched to colored pencils, and the results were so diminished.
Clear plastic take-out containers (either #1 or #3, can’t remember) make good, “free” shrink plastic. They are slightly less predictable than purpose-made shrinks, but they are still a lot of fun. I’ve used colored pencils after just a little sanding.
Shrinky Dinks! I was such a huge fan of these as a kid in the 80s. They came with pre-printed images that you colored in an cut out. I also had a set with plain plastic that I could draw whatever I wanted on. I remember making key chains and a custom tag for my dog’s collar.
I have a tip for the sharpie that might help. If it is the rough and ready variety, use the slick side for the sharpie, color it, and then on the rough side use a white colored pencil, or paint pen, the transparency at least won't be there. Love you Jackie :)

Then I dome it with a little uv resin so it’s nice an shiny. I sometimes paint the back of my pieces with either white or black to make them stand out.
when your a grain you come in like a hurricane salt shaker familly
This video could not be more perfect! I had just gotten a pack of shrink plastic to try out and wanted to know the best supplies to use on it! I have used cheap crayola crayons and after shrinking, the clolors smudged off.
Sika: Can we try Crayola?
Jackie: Oh! Good idea! I like where your mind is going!
Editing Jackie: *And then I went ahead and forgot that idea.*
Me: *-And then I went ahead and forgot that Crayola existed.-*
Lmao same
I’m the same way-
I hope Jakie makes a whole video making something from her own craft kit. Im excited to see.
Love you both!!!!
It would be cool to have a discord with an NSFW channel for Sika's inappropriate arts.
Or instead of w it could be y for RUclips lol
I love the way Sika used the phone/trace to do the salt shaker, amazing idea!
How did it go how’s your healing going? I really hope it went well because your my favorite youtuber when I’m sad I watch your videos and it makes me forget why I’m sad
I really liked that Posca flower that Jackie made and i hope your recovery is going well
My cheap sister decided to use normal plastic rather than buying a pack at the dollar store and lets just say it didn’t go too well😨
I really got into this stuff when I was a kid. It was a brand name (shrinky dinks) that was easy to use because I could use a toaster oven and aluminum foil pie plates. I was amazed by the fact that the lightly colored plastic would become totally opac when it baked into its final shape!
Sika should post the secret one in her insta 😭
Love that no matter how many new sharp pointy objects you get, you still use the orginal sharp and pointy for opening the box.
Sika had some shrinkage on her “special” blurred drawing.
So glad to hear your getting better...dont rush yourself to get back to us..take your time..we all want the best for you..love u loads xxx
Sika should post her copic one on her insta
do you know what she did coz i want to know
The package seems like a pretty good deal since they actually do include everything you need (including a hole punch which really surprises me). I used to love shrink sheets when I was a kid.
Me sees All might on da back round : *Omagad she watch My Hero Academia??!!!*
Hope ur doing better!!
Shrinky dinks! They are so much fun. My husband and I made so many little doodads, magnets, rings, necklaces, and christmas tree ornaments, as a date when we first started dating. We still do them every once and a while. I love watching them curl.

I found out what her censored drawing was when it was shrinked. But im not gonna tell, cause that would be bad.
Anyways, have a nice day! :)

Um sure ☺️
I use shrink plastic a lot to make pins and I have some tips
1. DO NOT USE CRAYOLA/WATER BASED MARKERS-they will smudge like heck
2. When you use alcohol markers/sharpies, I always paint the background(usually white but you can use other colors) to get rid of the transparency
3. To make the plastic flatter, you can roll a glass over it immediately after taking it out of the oven
4. There’s different kinds of shrink plastic-use the textured kind so the material you use stays on better
5. Alcohol markers WILL get darker when it shrinks, so make the drawing a tad lighter than you expect. I made lil swatches so I knew exactly how the colors will turn out when they shrink
I’ve never used Poscas or colored pencils on it, but after seeing this I’ll have to try!😊
Guys guys!! My mom is pregnant!!!!!🥳🥳🤰🏻
Ok?
Make a video don't just like go commenting on random people's videos
I loved shrinkles as a kid. I made presents for people with them.
I like the pencils best as well, unless going for a strong cartoon style, then I'd go posca
I've finally got skillshare! Full year! I'm so excited!!
Sika, I love your T-shirt.

Let’s eat, grandma!

Lol
When Shrinky Dinks came out in the 70s, my mom painted Christmas ornaments. The paint that came with the kits then was like stained glass paint, and the results were so pretty! By the 80s, they switched to colored pencils, and the results were so diminished.
I’ve tried it in elementary school in art class but I’m in high school now
Jackie please test a perler bead craft kit or customize an lol surprise doll I’ve been asking for a while. When you are recovered from your surgery
Omg your profile pic and the first craft they did match 😲
Clear plastic take-out containers (either #1 or #3, can’t remember) make good, “free” shrink plastic. They are slightly less predictable than purpose-made shrinks, but they are still a lot of fun. I’ve used colored pencils after just a little sanding.
*Someone needs to get Jackie a new Turtle hat.. She is starting a new chapter.. time for a new hat.*
Shrinky Dinks! I was such a huge fan of these as a kid in the 80s. They came with pre-printed images that you colored in an cut out. I also had a set with plain plastic that I could draw whatever I wanted on. I remember making key chains and a custom tag for my dog’s collar.
Sika made a "mushroom" 🍄 didn't she
Fun hack from someone who has lead shrink art crafts with kids a 1000 times, metallic colored pencils turn sparkly when shrunk!
me *cries* because I can't see sika's "pg-13" shrinkidy drinkidies *XD but :{
I have a tip for the sharpie that might help. If it is the rough and ready variety, use the slick side for the sharpie, color it, and then on the rough side use a white colored pencil, or paint pen, the transparency at least won't be there. Love you Jackie :)
