  • I bought the 2020 Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 brand new in 2021 and have owned it more than a year and have put 8,000+ miles on it. I am selling it because I simply want something bigger that can handle longer road trips on the highway and that is faster. I've enjoyed the Vitpilen 401 and will sincerely miss it.
    As for the exhaust-note hate: after adding the LeoVince exhaust, I have come to really enjoy the sound of it. I like that it's not loud and obnoxious like some other bikes.

    Holy shit, I thought I was crazy when mine kept stalling downshifting at lights. Loving the vitpilen, but by far worst aspect is the stalling issue. Was taking right hand turn, uphill when it did it the first time. Made me look like a complete moron. Great video. Can’t beat all the rolling shots.

      It happened since the first day of buying it brand new. I told my friend and he said it's probably operator error. I didn't agree... I went to forums and a lot of others have the same issue. I think it's just a quirk of the bike.

    I have a 2022 Svartpilen have sub 1k miles on it but have never experienced the Stalling issue, and I hope I don't! I also don't use the quick shifter because it's kind of jerky it's not my BMW F900r but I am just impressed Husqvarna would even consider this at the price, of course Dealers here in Southern California have a ridiculous ADM on them these days!

      As for the quick shifter, it was a bit jerky sometimes. However, if you find the right RPM to quick shift, it will shift smoothly.

      I just got a 2022 Vitpilen here in SoCal. I paid $700 ADM. The dealer had no Svartpilens. That's OK because I prefer the Vit. I only have 250 miles on mine and no stalling so far. Yes, the quick shifter is jerky but I'm sure glad it has it. The 3-4, 4-5, and 5-6 upshifts are pretty good. The downshifts are good.
      I use it but not all the time. PS OTOH I probably got $1k more for my used bike because of the seller's market. My old bike was a 2019 Honda CB300R which I bought new. The Vit is a WAY better bike than the Honda for only $450 more on the list prices.

    I miss Dallas… I’m in Houston now, but hey, I just picked up a 401 Vitpilen!!! It’s a 2023 and new. They marked the price way the hell down. New model is on its way to the dealership, but I wanted the clip-ons instead of the new handlebars. Also, the price. OTD was a few hundred less than the MSRP.

    Just curious, with regard to the stalling issue. When coming to a stop, do you ever pop it into neutral before you come to a complete stop?

    • @JAWexposures
      @JAWexposures  Год назад

      Do you mean on purpose or on accident? I never did on purpose, and it was pretty hard to get it into neutral normally. So, I don't think it ever went into neutral when coming to a stop.
      I kept it in gear so I could start back up quick if someone was going to rear end me.

    Im most likely picking up a 401 vit in a few days, brand new out the door. But a 701 vit just popped up for sale by me for $7k .. so no i am stuck in a dilemna if the 701 is still available when i go to buy... decisions decisions. Im a total beginner rider so the 401 i feel is perfect,.. but a 701 for the same amount of money.. just comes down to my personal confidence in being able to handle it

    • @JAWexposures
      @JAWexposures  2 года назад +1

      If I were you, I'd buy the 701.
      I have enjoyed the 401 and I thought it was enough power (and it was for awhile) but once I started riding other bikes, I realized how lacking in power the bike was. And I have an itch for speed, so I desired something a little bit faster when riding the 401.
      I honestly don't think a 701 would be too much power for you as a beginner rider. Just don't be stupid and full throttle it when you're not used to the bike yet and you'll be fine.
      I'm upgrading to a Triumph tiger 800, but had I bought the 701 originally, I would have probably kept it instead of thinking of getting a bigger motorcycle.
      Hope that helps!

      @@georgekrpan3181 the 401 seems to be picking up traction with consumers. I think back when I bought mine, they weren't well known; therefore, they were selling them for cheap. What a great quality video! But what about the seating position, some reviewers say that it's hard on the wrists and neck? Does it need some time getting used to?

    • @georgekrpan3181
      @georgekrpan3181 Год назад +2

      I'm 6 foot tall. I love the seating position on my Vitpilen 401. My 5'6" neighbor hated it, was on tippy toes, and really had to stretch to reach the bars. In addition to the clip on bars the foot pegs are set back 4 inches compared to the Svartpilen. It puts you in a very sporty leaned over position. I find it very comfortable and could ride it all day. Clip on bars and rear set pegs make so much sense on a naked bike because there is no wind protection. Leaned over is way better than sitting upright in the wind. I believe the Vitpilen is the only fully naked bike available with clip on bars and rear set pegs. It is absolutely genius of Husqvarna to offer it.

    • @JAWexposures
      @JAWexposures  Год назад +2

      I'm 5'7" and I do remember when first riding it, I had to get used to the wrist position. It may have been because I was holding on too tight, but my hand would go numb sometimes the first month or so of riding it. With that said, it is a different wrist placement compared to other bikes, but it is something you will get used to, and I don't think it's a huge deal. It is a Cafe style bike after all.

    • @zygimantassiugzda5401
      @zygimantassiugzda5401 Год назад +3

      Thanks guys! I bought it a week ago, and I feel the same - whenever I hold on too tight, my hands feel a little numb. But the more I drive and the more relaxed I feel, the more comfortable it gets. So it only takes some time to get used to, but I love it.

  • @IndependentVictor

    Is it THAT uncomfortable as people make it out to be? I love the looks of the 2018 and want to get it, but Im afraid of how uncomfortable it might be

    • @JAWexposures
      @JAWexposures  5 месяцев назад

      Comfort is all based on the individual. At first, it hurt my wrists but after riding it for awhile, I got used to it and it didn't hurt anymore. As for the hunch over the bars, well it's a cafe style bike so you sacrifice comfort for the look. However, it wasn't that uncomfortable at all for short rides of about an hour or so. Just the prolonged riding such as an everyday rider, I didn't like it. But if you are riding it for joy rides on the weekends and such, you'd probably be fine.
      I'd recommend going somewhere that has one to sit on it and see what it feels like.
      I rode mine for about 15 months, 4-5 times a week, and it wasn't bad. I was just worried about the future effects on my back and shoulders of being hunched over that much.
