I discovered the main title in the "Classic film Scores" Newman medley Charles Gerhardt recorded in 70's for RCA with the National Philharmonic Orchestra.
Newman was a very versatile composer !

Newman's last score. He clearly had some music left for the 70s.
Of course, he was a genius, and he remained open to the musical tendencies of his time, and Edward Powell did a wonderful job orchestrating his music!

agreed -- the album version is kind of the loungey cousin with those electric guitar ornaments and whatnot; nothing beats that heavy bass in the film finale!!
