I appreciate your list a lot because it is genuine. The X Factor is indeed amazing with 2am being my favorite song on this album, but No Prayer at the last position is personally impossible for me. It's possibly my favorite album although it's not their best. Mother Russia is outstanding.
Bold move to put The X Factor so high on the list. For me it falls somewhere in the middle, but I think it's a very solid album and definitely underrated. I like it's dark atmosphere, and I think Blaze's vocals fits the music on the album very well.
The X Factor has some of their best melodies to date. Makes Brave New World sound awkward and simple by comparison. I really enjoy Blaze's voice on this album my favorite songs from it are Fortunes of War, The Aftermath, and Edge of Darkness.

I gotta say ...hearing No Prayer songs live was awesome. You gotta smoke serious crack to prefer a Blaze album over it. The sound on No Prayer is not that different than Piece of Mind.
Nice video, very entertaining! On TXF you make some interesting points, and I also came to the conclusion the album is a journey into depression, through its many rough sides, and at the same time a way out of it; in that darkness some parts are luminous rays so that it's almost therapeutic in itself. Book of Souls imo was just a bag of recycled riffs from past efforts. Also introduced the squiky guitar sound that was so prominent in songs like Stratego later on..
I have similar impressions while listening to Book of Souls (too much auto plagiarism). Matter of life and death is probably the last IM album I really liked.
It wasn't a talk on vocals only obviously. Bruce is always the strongest when I hear their albums, but I thought Blaze did fit the kind of sound Harris was going with on The X Factor. Paul's vocals before Bruce were great too.
@@TheStrongBoyz19 yeah..X factor is missing Smiths melodies and solos. The album has a constricted feel and sonic wise it just sounds bad. Vocals are essential to maiden since its used as an instrument. Blaze has a limited register. His lows are not low enough and his highs aren't high enough. Iisten to sign of the cross with Bruce or Lord of the Flies.

Senjutsu and Book of Souls are boring with no memorable tracks. Maiden hasn't released anything good since Brave New World 2000. I don't like their newer stuff, it's overblown and just too long. The Book of Souls is 92 mins FFS!!
In my opinion, if you don't feel Piece of Mind is one of the top 3 Iron Maiden albums, then you definitely just don't get Maiden. Sorry if that's harsh, but there's no way you ever gave the album a chance then and you don't know what you are missing.
I don't need to understand the band because of a different opinion as I went into the band differently as other people have discovered them in their own journey, yet your opinion is cool to see. It's cool you love the album more, but as I said there were other albums I'd prefer and choose over that great album.
