If I didn't love you by Carrie Underwood and Jason Aldean, it is my ex wife and my favorite country singers finally singing together something we always wanted and it was a song about struggle post breakup made as our divorce was finalized. In my anger I said I never fell in love with her and married the first person nice to me, in reality i loved her deeper than anyone ever in my life, I was just wounded to my soul to the point I became cold and honestly sill am cold to this day, but I wish I hadn't said I never loved her. Even if I clarified or set the record strait, there is no point, the damage is done and permanent.

In all honesty, LINKIN PARK probably saved so many teenagers in my generation due to the lyrics. He helped a lot of of us with stress and finding our own. But looking at the songs now he was telling us he was depressed and we just couldn’t see it. He saved so many of us but couldn’t save himself.

Not only teenagers. When I was going through the darkest period of my life, I'd listen to them and let out all the pain I was feeling. It was the only thing that broke the walls and helped me breath, and I was in my twenties.

Even as an adult... Linkin Park still holds something special for me and even hearing "Friendly Fire" and seeing Chester on that video brought me to tears instantly. Having seen them live 10+ times ill still never forget any of their shows and what they brought to my life thru their music and the nostalgia and memories of what used to be, they are literally a band that so many within a generation still connect over... I will forever miss Chester and what could have been but will forever treasure what they gave to us.

I understand that a lot of people love that version and the reasons why. I'm a die hard NIN fan so find the bleakness of the original, especially at the end of the album it is part of, to be one of the most profound, soul destroying pieces of music ever. Consider that Trent wrote that album, then, as he has said himself, turned into the conceptual person he was singing about. Drug addict and all the rest.

Chester's death (Rest in Peace) forever changed how so many Linkin Park songs hit me. Waiting For The End, though, is the track I cannot listen to without crying, if I can listen to it at all. Chester's lyrics "Waiting for the end to come / Wishing I had strength to stand / This is not what I had planned / It's out of my control" combined with the knowledge of how his life ended just devastates me every time. All I can think is was that how it was at the end for him & 9 times out of 10 I just can't listen to the song past his opening verse. So much of that music did & continues to get me through some dark times, but that song takes me to a dark place now.

If it wasn't for Chester Bennington and all members of Linkin Park, I LITERALLY would not have survived through high school and everything that came with being a changing teenager in those important years of ones life. I got bullied a lot too and their music (plus, just music in general, really) was ritualistically my daily escape and therapy, and ultimately what helped me stay (mostly) sane and try to keep my head held high despite the bad times.
Chester unfortunately took his life literally only days before my birthday. And every single year since then, it hurts to think about and to remember the fact that he's actually gone- I almost forget sometimes because he lives on through their music and through his craft and once in a lifetime voice. But there's just something about "Leave Out All the Rest" that punches me in my gut and yanks at my heart strings though- that song seriously gets to me. I actually first heard it when I got the first Twilight movie soundtrack- it's played at the ending credits in the film. But even so, one really cannot listen to that song without crying if they ever had any attachment to the band or to Chester. If you know, you know. I will always love Linkin Park, and I will always cherish and love that song, even if it does make me cry every single time I hear it.

Floating on the Forth is rough. Scott sings about jumping off the bridge over the river, and at the end of it he turns it around saying "I think I'll save suicide for another year". It was ten years after the album when he went through what he sang about. I still have trouble listening to it.

These are the days of our lives by Queen is the last music video he was filmed in, and it's so wild to watch and see how ill he was but still performing. Every time I watch it, I see a man personally saying goodbye and I love you to his people.
Linkin Park holds a special place in me, leave out all the rest is the song I listen to when I'm down and, despite how sad the song is, I find the lyrics comforting. Chester tells his story in his lyrics and you really can feel where he was in life from his songs.

Kinda shocked to see Floating in the Forth on here as an honorable mention. Love Frightened Rabbit and it's a shame how blantantly obvious all the signs were there and he took his life in the exact same manner as the song suggests. Scott had such unbelievably raw and realistic lyrics of heartbreaks that you can't just get over. The accent can take some getting used to, but I honestly feel like they were one of the greatest indie rock bands from the late 2000s/early 2010s. I definitely recommend listening to Midnight Organ Fight, but all their records are great imo.

Chester even called him "the greatest rock vocalist of all time" (paraphrasing). On top of that, Chester actually sang "Hallelujah" by Leonard Cohen at Chris Cornell's wake, and the day when Chester tragically died of suicide was actually Chris Cornell's birthday. July 20th.

@@lisachiappetti6092 it was a plane crash in a lake where him and majority of the barkeys drowned. A lot of them didn’t die on impact.
