J-hope will seriously go down in history as one of the most iconic artists of our generation. He has his own distinct style in his music. The talent of this man is out of this world! He is the most versatile artist of our generation. He does it all. He always has a uniqe flow, uniqe voice and all aorund one-of-a-kind performer. I love the hopeful sunny personality and I love this darker side of him just as much. I'm so excited to follow his carreer.
IMO, this song may shock many or at least some people. the main reason is probably not the dark concept (it's actually still in a positive way even it may look dark) but rather the song itself. it is not a typical Kpop song people usually watch/hear but rather with more rock, punk and a little metal vibes in it. people, especially the international Kpop fans, may think Korean music has only Kpop or only means Kpop. in fact Korean music includes all kinds of different music genre from jazz, rap, rock to anything you name it. however it is just that Kpop is the most known and popular music genre to the world domestically and internationally. Kpop is just overshadowing all other music in Korea but it doesn't mean they don't exist or not being heard by people. I guess J-hope just wanna to break free from the stereotype of Kpop and explore something new or something less being paid attention to. with who he is and where he stands, he can afford to do it with or without the worrying of the consequences he may get with this new 'sound' solo album. Personally I thinks "more" is a great song as I am no stranger to the western rock vibes music even I may not be a complete rock (or heavy metal) fan. BTW he is gonna rock and hype up the whole crowd at lollapalooza 2022 in Chicago.
@@kinetic3971 yep, not a 'typical kpop song' we used to hear or 'love'. but think about it, why not let a kpop idol or kpop idol(s) deviate from the mainstream a little bit for something new (in most people's minds or interpretations, Kpop is the mainstream and others are something new). In J-Hope's case. he may be doing something new for himself and Kpop fans. it is just something someone gotta to do it in Kpop and J-Hope seems to be the one. after all J-Hope with his status along with being a part of BTS, he can do it without the worrying of the consequences. additionally we still don't know if his new upcoming album is exactly or similarly close to this single "More". will the whole 'dark' out of the box concept go all the way throughout the album from the 1st track to the very last one. it remains to be seen until the moment the album is officially released. perhaps the only guarantee is that the music is gonna be good in this album possibly dark, rock, punk, kpop again and/or anything. guess we trust J-Hope on this one.
I think Hobi is arguably the most versatile member of the group. The vocal range with not only his rap as far as his cadences but also his actual vocals (Spring Day, Tomorrow as well as his DNA demo are a few examples that come to mind) is just 🤌🏾 superb
I'm so proud of Hobi and didn't expect this at all. I'm loving the beat of this song and I love the drums and guitars and this side of our sunshine is wrecking me badly. This is a different side of hobi I thought I'd never see also I love the MV aswell and I love how his voice sounds as well as how rocky this sounds and I'm also loving this néw look on him aswell and I love how he raps. Basically words can't explain how I'm feeling right now about this song besides being bias wrecked. Hobi has set the bar so damn high for me now, Bangtan chapter 2 is already killing me now. He isnt Hobi anymore he is Hoseok
This was my jam back in highschool, good old days! I am just so happy seeing yhis from Jhope! I envy people who arw coming to Lollapalooza and enjoy this live from Jhope on july31st! 💯💯💯💯💜💜💜💜
I’m with J-Mac, I love Green Day, I grew up the Australian 90’s so Grunge/Garage/Pub bands such as Silverchair, Nirvana, Spiderbait, Green Day, Killing Heidi as well as Hip Hop/Rap that this song genres were portraying was absolute top tier for me
Also Linkin Park was my fav & Hobi has stayed he is a huge fan of this genre so it was only a matter of time that we would get grunge rocker Jung Hoseok
First thing I thought when I saw Hobi's face/eye makeup....Billie Armstrong, lol. Bookish Theories has posted a great explanation video for this .... the connection to Hobi's past recordings and some info on "Jack in the Box' meaning and the jester look. I was waiting for you all to drop this. Thanks....I loved it too. ARMY grandma
A mi me encantó ..salió totalmente de lo que hacía..fue una transición fuerte ,me encanta que se arriesgue a mostrar su verdadero yo..va a captar otro tipo de público...me gusta i like
So many people shocked 😂 I love the song! First, I thought it would be a techno vibe, but this punk rock vibe is way better!! And Taehyung is there in the Mvideo too with his famous beije sandals standing at the second office scene 😊. Waiting fir the15th July and the Loollapalloza Jhope's concert!
I became your subscriber recently. Apart from your love and respect for BTS I also love the way you say your greeting of "magandang umaga and magandang gabi" and of course "salamat" for being here! That's refreshing to hear! Borahae! Salamat for doing this reaction! :)
Absolutely love this! This is my favorite solo track right behind Singularity. Creative, different, full of surprises! That transition to rock from old school hip hop beat is just epic! I cannot wait for his full album to drop. Something tells me his solo work just might be my fave based on this track (probably right along with Tae’s solo stuff as his style is very much aligned with my taste also).
Funkles+jokes=slapping knees 😆😂🤣😄 You guys are soo Funny, even during the mv. I was waiting for this reaction mv from you guys. Jhope is So Dope, cool and bad a**, I Love this other ego of him. He's been waiting to do this. Read he's letter about how he's been wanting to do this. From the bright ray of Sunshine to dark raw side. Another side of him. He sure is Cool and bad, I like it a lot. Hobi Month Just think this is only he's single, Will all be waiting for what's in the box. 🔥💥🃏
Honestly I wasn’t totally blindsided by this song. I kind of was excepting something like this. The photos teasers and the teaser helped sooo much (plus having ARMY). I mean he had a band in one of the photos. Also one of the photos had pictures of records and the top one is apparently at rock band called BlackPink. Then the teaser gave me hints about the 90’s hip pop. Idk I feel all the clue where their (with the help of investigator ARMY because I wouldn’t have know about the rock band unless I had them). For the final reason why I wasn’t surprised was that I knew and still predict that Jack In The Box is going to be him addressing his dark side, his shadows, the not so hopeful Hobi. However how good the song was, was a surprise. I loved it. Being perfectly honest I wasn’t a totall fan of the vocal part of the chorus but loved the production. Also the part when you see his “X-ray”, that flow is fine but I feel it kind of is too repetitive. However all of is this is growing on me. This song is still so good and amazing to listen to in the car or with big speakers. I am so excited for #JackInTheBox. “I WANT MORE” too #jhope.
I loved it. Maybe because I listen to a lot of music and that includes all kinds of metal, visual kei and so on. My barometer for a song are my kids and they vibe a lot with it. They were O_O and immediately started dancing/headbopping/banging xD and surfing the beat.
There's a couple of lines in Korean that I can make out and where he says "I'm in my element" he's rally saying "I'm a fish of water that meets the water". And where he sings "eeny meeny miny mo... it's a dancing baby's flow... Keep my passion, I gotta go". And then we show the music industry office with robots just doing their job without emotion and he says that. And when we see the instrumentalists they are burn victims .. possibly indicating these people got burned from the music industry by letting them have control over their artistry. J Hope is a water fish remember? And then he shows us watching his hospitalized body and he's only a shell of his skeleton. The Jack's hat is not a hat but what happens when you keep it in the box... it's a medical device. He needs to flow and surf to his beats so that he doesn't get burned either.... and at the end we see what he showed us was in his box and he's just a Jack In that Box. Does he let it out? Or do we go in? But he closes that box after he's shown us with this crazy mix. It's brilliant and brutally honest. He wants more. Dude is showing complex rhymes like Eminem and that Nirvana lke grunge. The rhyme schemes talking about feed back is freaking awesome.
My thoughts Hip-hop meets rock but like 90s it's giving western artist and Kpop like Tvxq mitotic beat but with a hint of Seo Taiji and the boys come back home type of vibes and I love it They did the same camera angle effect as Interlude: Shadow DNA intro He's going deeper with his voice in a way we've never heard until like Run BTS
I couldn’t put my finger on it because I couldn’t get past the 9 Inch Nails vibe, but I can hear the Green Day too! (Trent Reznor grew up 10 minutes from me, I think that’s why it stands out? Who knows🥸)
I might post the actual translated lyrics cause once again the translations are super simple. For example this bar: self-learning for 11 years. My highlightings my art of learning. Rage against the machine is Renegades of Funk. J Mac why is your head see through? Your headband is glitching with the background. BTW hi guys, Love this side of Jhope, very cool. I want more
lol he said Green day was top 3 best bands of all time!? I don't even think they would say that about themselves, honestly. Mid at best sir. BUT we are here for Jhope, and he is amazing and I love this video and this unexpected side of this stunning artist.
Your clap at the beginning was totally the beginning of Bruno Mars. Seriously, though, this is why JHope has been my bias since I discovered BTS. ;) Are you all going to Lollapalooza? BTW....Green Day’s and Jhope’s performances sort of overlap at Lollapalooza, but I’m heading to Jhope. 🤟🏼
Sorry, Peter. It's probably a generational bias, but I also grew up during Green Day's Dookie era and I will fight you on this, too. 😂 It might be a 90s thing after all.
No, no, not Green Day! Aawww gad, I'm with the other guys here. If it reminds me of a band, it's.... It's Limp Bizkit! or Korn! It's about time for rap metal to come back, and J-HOPE is the perfect ambassador of this genre, which was buried by the avalanche called EDM in the mid 2000s.. Think it might be too late for J-HOPE to collab with Fred Durst? Can Fred still keep up? LOL
JMac my spirit animal, confirmed. But you're looking good Scott and Peter. Sorry I ghosted you. Call me. I will tag in for JMac and throw hands, though. Be sure to read the real comments. The MV and production elements are actually mind-blowing.
Can you guys react to bts episode of them preparing for the Grammy’s,they just posted it on their RUclips channel “BANGTANTV” we would love to see that.🤍

Yup. Its like hobi s dark side. Love it
Even the format/structure of the song is different. Definitely didn't feel like a kpop/khiphop at all which I love.
