You know, 6-person drafts generally speaking have almost never been represented in Magic videos prior to the Showdowns, and now more in-depth in your videos. The “slightly different tenor” between 8 and 6 you mention here is something the consistency of these videos has shed major light on for a lot of people I think. Your commentary in the 6-person ones is so different, more about wheeling and the packs feel more like a sealed pool for it. It’s really neat!
Is there any chance that the low pitch banging the mic is picking up during pack 1 is a wagging dog tail that is hitting the desk? It's really noticable on my setup.
Absolutely sick deck and very cool games! 49:21 - Unfortunately making a second copy of Hullbreacher with Kiki-Jiki won't cause you to create twice as many treasure tokens. It's a replacement effect that replaces the card draw with creating a token, so the second instance of that replacement effect won't apply. Also, there was a slight thumping sound throughout the video, as though you were bouncing your leg and shaking the table. I found it a little distracting. Other people might not be bothered. Idk.
Hi LSV, your content is great. I love the insights during draft and the games. However I wonder if you are aware how often your mic movement causes a very present drumming sound. Maybe you can look into it and solve the issue. Wish you a happy day.
I think it might actually be his dog, but yeah, I'll periodically wonder the neighbours are doing before realising the banging noise is coming from the video. XD
The things that LSV can do with these Decks that he drafts is just completely out of my league of understanding. I've been watching him for well more than a decade now and I don't think I'm particularly bad at Magic. It's just you know he drafted a busted deck but then you have no idea that he could go infinite match 2. Still the best in the business after so many years it's crazy.
@43:35 To make it even more unlikely, you only won because you decided to pay for the mana vault. Had you taken 1 more point of damage, you wouldn't have been able to win with rolling earthquake.
LSV great video and thank you for the regular uploads. Just an FYI there was a thudding sound near the end which may have been your leg bouncing (I do it all the time without thinking about it). Either way the mic picked it up a bit. But still great video and I’m loving the hull breacher love lately
Been loving the videos! I assume these were prerecorded because of the pro tour, but just for future reference there is some vibration going on with the microphone causing some annoying noise. :) By no means a dealbreaker, but maybe something you could adjust?
At the end I was internally screaming at you for even considering making a token to block when that token can double your potential attack power if you draw a mountain the next turn.
A couple hours after I comment on Kenji's cube video that he should have prioritized draw 7s as soon as he got Hullbreacher, you draft this masterpiece. Cheff's Kiss.
A deck has 4 cards left in it. A triome, a basic and 2 spells. Option 1: You search a triome which leaves you with a 1 in 3 chance to draw that basic the very next upkeep which then leaves you with the 2 spells you can't acces. Honestly hullbreacher when you don’t play with the same people you draft with stinks. You’ll wind up playing against it with your draw 7s. I really think cross pod play for a cube is a net negative
@@dsnein The upsides of playing in pod is so utterly dwarfed by the flexibility and time savings of playing cross pod. They offer in pod drafts and they're very unpopular compared to the league.
@@michaeldegrave5905 This may surprise you, but even after completely understanding the pros and cons of mtgo cube and having played it since it debuted in 2012 and up to this day, I abide my opinion that same pod offers a much better gameplay experience. Awesome video as always, LSV! What would your opinion be on adding a card like “Lab Maniac” to this particular cube? In my opinion it seems a little easier to use than a few of the cards that you’d mentioned wanting to see “go.”
LSV, first, thank you so much for the cube draft content! Secondly, does being so consist in the type of decks you draft, lead to any thoughts of being predictable to opponents or feeling lackadaisical/bored when you dont open certain first and second picks? Like, do you ever think, "next time I open a mox emerald, I am making a green deck."
I'm surprised more draft formats haven't popped up. I think something like 4 teams of 2 (instead of the normal 2 teams of 4) would be really cool. Could even add a little spice to where you and your duo partner could communicate while drafting.

I don't understand the logic of running that many lands, with other mana accelerants. An all land/mana accelerant hand is 99% as bad as a landless hand. 1 mana and 6 mana hands also awful. 2 mana though? With all those wheels and cheap spells he likes to run? That's golden. 5 mana is garbage though, way to often you'll have multiple lands on top with not nearly enough action. It simply can't be mathematically the best choice to run that much mana. Consider at 50+% mana 1 in 8 games your top 3 cards are lands. That's 1 in 8 you're losing before you even start because you're seeing no action until turn 4, any disruption of your starting 7 at all, in the form of mulligans, grief duress, clique and you may as well resign. None of this includes the fact that 90+% of his decks are low curve, he often plays many cantrips and he has many situationally useful cards. All of these factors further reduce how many lands you should or can afford to play.
Basically if you start playing accelerants instead of lands, they stop being accelerants because you're now missing land drops more frequently. There's a lot of nuance here, though.
Apologies for the sound issues - I’ve been working on eliminating all those, and it’s better in subsequent videos. Cheers!

A couple hours after I comment on Kenji's cube video that he should have prioritized draw 7s as soon as he got Hullbreacher, you draft this masterpiece. Cheff's Kiss.
34:46 This reasoning doesn't quite hold. Thinning a triome from your deck provides exactly the same draw power as cycling it if you happen to draw it.
You search a triome and draw a basic vs you search a basic then draw a triome, which you can cycle.
How are these the same?
A deck has 4 cards left in it.
