      @@313jmo3 I feel the same way and that's why I believe in Ingram's stardom also. The man couldn't play ball with a life threatening blood clot situation until August and when the season started he was tearing it up from 3, and everywhere else honestly. Those two 22 years olds can be something special. We're only getting glimpse of their potential right now

    His work with both of them so far has been great to watch. BI becoming an 86% ft shooter has made him an elite scorer and you can see Zo slowly improving in that area too. I love that he said him and Zo will tweak some stuff over the summer too. If Zo can develop a pull up jumper it will unlock a lot of stuff on offense. I can see him shooting over 40% from three next season on even more attempts.

    • @lameloball1235

    • @tjanderson5892
      @tjanderson5892 4 года назад +14

      It’s an indictment on the Lakers coaching staff. Zo’s shot is so improved. His old form prevented him from having a jump shot. Straightening his form up not only improves his shooting but it allows him to have a midrange game. Before he had no chance of gettin that shot off in the midrange. It’s night and day. I’d say I’ve seen him shoot actual jumpers now. All fade-aways but still the same concept where you elevate before you release. Zos FT are still ass but will improve w/ confidence now that his form doesn’t use that crooked hitch. Once he gets confidence w/ FT, he’ll be willing to go to rack on contested drives and not be afraid to get fouled. Will change his game entirely. Check his box score now and he’ll go consecutive games not having shot a damn FT lol.

    • @tjanderson5892
      @tjanderson5892 4 года назад +3

      Zo hes hesitant to attack the rim bc he doesn’t wanna get fouled and go to the line. Once his terrible FT increases, we’ll see him attacking the rack. Now that his form is fixed, another full offseason will have him confident shooting FT. If I was his coach, I’d tell him that I need 8 FT a game from him. 4 contested drives that likely send him to the line. His vision, passing, and defense are all there. He needs to be more aggressive and not be timid driving bc his FTs are so terrible. They’ll get better but he gotta put himself in a positions to improve them. Going consecutive games w/o shooting a single FT isn’t helping the team at all for the long run

    • @lameloball1235
      @lameloball1235 4 года назад +3

      Tj Anderson He does attack the rim, just has to improve on it and get more confidence. No need for paragraphs.

    • @tjanderson5892
      @tjanderson5892 4 года назад

      Zo in the open court he’s great at gettin to the rim. In the half court he’s extremely timid in taking advantage of his size and length to beat his man and finish contested drives, either w/ a bucket of foul. His post game has hidden that a bit, but he resorts to a fall away pretty often. And he’s gotten really good at it. Still, his shit FT% makes him hesitant to go and get fouled. Once his FT improves, teams won’t just foul him the few times he does drive a contested lane and he won’t be so quick to pass those drives up. The paragraph was more than necessary.

    This shooting coach deserves a few million bucks. You can see the results. I coach shooting. Shooting is the most valuable skill in basketball. Shooting coaches are very underappreciated and undervalued. A shooting coach can improve your individual skill. A head coach is more concerned with the overall team. A shooting coach is concerned with helping the PLAYER. I enjoyed listening to this video, because they highlighted the principles you see over and over. Trust. Physics. Buying into the teaching. Both Ingram and Ball have had a hard time being coached and trusting and buying into things completely. I looked at Lonzo and said to myself "He needs a shooting coach." I said that years ago. I would love to coach him. He has work ethic. But he has some trust issues and bad habits. But he is young and those bad habits can be unlearned. His Dad kept telling him that it doesn't matter what form you use as long as it goes into the hoop. But what happens when you are under duress and the competition is up? What happens when the line moves back? What happens when the stress gets to you? You need good form. Good form will ground you.

If the season did end then he finishes a 38% 3 point shooter this year. Up 5% from last year and 7% from his first year. Also 41% from the field and an improved midrange and finish game. We knew BI could hoop he just needed confidence. But with lonzo the mechanics of his shot clearly have made a drastic change to his success and thus his confidence. You can just tell when hes pulling a 3 he feels good about it and it's not rushed. I've been a Lakers fan ever since watching those Magic Johnson days and I'm a Zo fan too. It was hard to see him leave Lakers along with BI and Hart but I knew it was a win-win trade for the Laker and Pelicans because with the situation of Lebron joining.
    I'm looking forward to seeing the Lakers chase a few rings for the next couple years but also enjoying watching the Pelicans develop. I hope Pelicans are able to get the 8th playoffs spot against the Lakers.
    It be Lakers now vs what the Laker's future could have looked like with a good coaching staff.
    Zo, Zion, BI, Hayes, NAW, Hart is going to be a strong 6 man roster with a few more role players around them
    After Lebron retires and possibly AD leaves, I hope Lakers actually focus on developing talent rather than a win now mentality.

    When he says ten toes to the basket, he can't literally mean that, right? Since zo and BI both have a turn, and he says its right. So what does ten toes to the basket actually mean in this case?

    10 toes to the rim is actually a myth. Notice most shooters have a turn from 20-40 degrees. This helps take tension out of the shooting arm shoulder and aligns your eyes with the ball.

    Lonzo's form was garbage when he was in H.S., college and with the Lakers. (A friend who really knows the game thinks it's because his right eye is dominant [it's usually the left, which is why he brought the ball over in front of his face,and now it's way off to the side so he can see the basket]) This is AMAZING!! LaVar, take notes!

    pelicans are so close to catch up to 8th spot,
    ppl's lives matter most obviously but it still would've been nice
    to see pelicans making a comeback for the playoff

    The issue is the lakers have became really poor at developing players in a way they always been unless its a generational talent like magic or kobe but besides that we really got our rings and our style has always been either traded for a great player or pick them up in free agency in this situation its a win won great players all around great pick up for the pels and AD great pick up for my lakers everybody won here

      Lakers have always gone for superstars. trading away young promising players for proven future hall-of-famers. Kobe is the only exception. Magic was a superstar -sure HOF the moment he stepped on an NBA court. :)

    The Lakers list of people they gave up on and went on to be even better has Lonzo, Ingram, and D-Lo. Ik they got AD for Ingram and Lonzo but they also didn’t do anything in their years there to try to fix what was going wrong.
