Most people, including me, discovered that masterpiece in godfather 3. And thats ok. Al Pacino with his scream of agony and pain made it super emotional. Say what you want about the movie but this scene showed that pacino was the only actor to play michael.
I watched a moving documentary about a blind piano tuner who was world class in his field. He would travel the world tuning pianos for the rich and famous, people like Elton John before concert performances. Unfortunately, due to a viral infection he lost 90% of his hearing. How cruel is that? He said this was his favourite song and I'll never forget the sight of him trying to listening to this, tears rolling down his cheeks because he could barely hear it. Heart-breaking.
I applaud Andre & his orchestra for reviving & keeping Classical music tuned up in our times. It deserves the attention & respect it had over the last centuries and thanks to people like Andre Rieu we are all still familiar with all this masterpieces in the 21st Century.
