  • In this video, I drive around side roads in Prince George, BC in order to show how well the Tesla Model 3 All Wheel Drive handles deep snow. At certain points in this video, you can see snow billowing over the windshield. Truly this car is a beast in the deep snow!

    I’m getting a tesla 3 and this video helped me a lot as I can’t decide if it’s gonna be worth it specially winter is coming. 😊

      The Model 3 is a great winter vehicle in my opinion. I've driven 4 years now in northern BC and its a fantastic vehicle, check the channel for the many winter trips through the mountains that I've made with this car!

      Tesla’s does okay in colder climates. Due to the cold weather, the battery gets cold which uses more power and the regen braking stops working. And if you don’t have a garage ice can get stuck on the door handle and on the window so that the window doesn’t recede when you do get the door open. (I know about opening the door via the app) sometimes it doesn’t work

    Awesome! Does it handle mountain roads just as well in snow? ie mountain roads and passes to go skiing/snowboarding etc.?

    • @TeslaPrince
      @TeslaPrince  7 месяцев назад

      yes it does, i've taken this through the icefields highway many times from Jasper to Banff and vice versa, there are videos showing some of those trips on this channel. As long as the snow isn't too deep, this car is amazing in winter/snow/ice

    What type of tire chains 3:38 are you running on your tires for all that snow? Some Tesla AWD owners are getting mixed results with driving in snow.

    Does tesla also lose driving range in winter like other non tesla ev ? Approximately

    • @TeslaPrince
      @TeslaPrince  Год назад

      Yes, around 50% loss of range when temps drop to -25C or colder

    • @Peanutlickerdog
      @Peanutlickerdog 8 месяцев назад

      Yes, the battery gets cold and regen braking stops working which causes the battery to work extra hard

    hello, i’m also from pg, and the snow lately was really crazy, I’m planning to buy a tesla M3 rwd soon, do you have any advice for me buying a rwd instead of MY awd? m3 is pretty much all i can afford, also i live in a apartment, the only way i can charge the car is from that Parking outlet for Block Heater. have you done charging your car outside using a 110v outlet while it’s -20+??

    • @TeslaPrince
      @TeslaPrince  Год назад +2

      charging on 110V in winter wont work, you will either need to get the building operator to allow a 220V outlet (nema 14-50 plug) or else charge regularily at the various chargers around town. There are some free level 2 (220v) aroung pg and there is also level 3 superchargers and bc hydro chargers in town. It will be a big challenge to keep it charged if you cant do so from home.
