I’m a Japanese woman who learn English now. Thank you for introducing your tiny room. It seems so cute and comfortable! I hope you enjoy your life in Japan!
Good luck on learning English! There's an app called HelloTalk where you can learn it with a native English speaker who wants to learn Japanese. Another app called Clubhouse might be useful for conversation practice. I'm active on both, wanting to learn Japanese as an English speaker, so feel free to hit me up as well!
英語が上手ですねー
頑張ってください、私はまじめな日本語を習っているんです
Very good english. Well done!
New follower I love your energy! I took many years of Spanish and I can't converse with it because I have a hard time with the verbs and their past and present tense and all that stuff.
African dude currently living in Japan. Hadano, Kanagawa. Your apartment looks so similar to my last place. I loved that place but had a horrible downstairs neighbor so I had to move. Used to be so little and cozy.
Living alone is a bless. Although the apartment is small. It's got a bed and a bathroom and a washing machine and a kitchen. And it functions well. You can even have sunshine sometimes. Japan is like a heaven for a poor introvert like me. It makes me happy just thinking about the life there. Even though the working environment might be a little harsher than other places. It's a good place for a transition.
Agree, i personally just love how tiny it is, you can basically min/max your life while at home since everything is like, RIGHT there lol
I live in Germany and for almost three years I lived in a small apartment (room) of 12 square meters. The apartment had everything, a shower and a toilet, a small kitchen with a refrigerator, a wardrobe, a bed, a nightstand, a table and two chairs.
Girl you have it going on. A full bathroom and tub is rare. You have everything you need. Good job and it’s economical!
Man, this makes me want a tiny apartment like that even more now lol. 430-ish USD/month isn't a horrible price for a roof over your head, and i just personally LOVE tiny living areas like this, as opposd to massive areas. Super cozy and you basically have everything nearly within an arms length.
I love watching these videos when the content creator talks about being grateful for 6-7k subs and I'm watching them at 20k. Like look at UUUUUUU! Being more successful than you even realized lol. It's just cute.
😊😊😊😊tee hee🤭 Thank you!
Same here! Love it so much! It makes me sad when I see shorts or reels where creators are complaining about when they only had 5-10 orders or followers but now have hundreds of orders or over 100k followers or something! It super bugs me bc I appreciate every single person who supports me as a creator so it’s super refreshing and nice to see! ♥️
i watch her at 70k+
I briefly taught English in Yokohama back in 2011. I lived in Ofuna Kamakura. My apartment had the exact same layout. I also loved walking around and getting lost in my neighbourhood. I vaguely remember living quite close to the shiseido cosmetics factory. Sadly, my experience ended prematurely due to the 2011 tsunami and earthquake. Your video brought back so many fond memories. Thank you!
This apartment looks so perfect for me, and I agree with everything you said! Also I wondered why sinks weren't placed over lavatories, so I'm glad to see Japanese people have seen the light.
Random rant about learning Japanese:
Okay from 2023 January 13th to 27th I'm going to see how much Japanese I can learn in two weeks, the sound familiarity from listening to a lot of Japanese should help, while also to learn to draw from not being able to draw a straight line since I have negative talent for drawing, so by March I can start writing my girl shogi manga, while aiming to reach EGF 1st dan blackbelt in igo from my current brownbelt level by May, around when the Women's Korean Baduk League begins and I have to start reporting on it on Lifein19x19, and during those four weeks I'll do the same for Korean and Chinese simultaneously, also hoping to be able to understand both by 2023 September when the Women's Korean Baduk League finishes. From then I will start compiling a universal Korean-Japanese-Chinese Dictionary and Universal Dictionary of European Language, all by December while simultaneously training to be a 5th dan blackbelt in 囲碁 for the Britgo London Open During 2023 December 28th to 31st. Then I'll get a job. Also from then would be time to start the universal comparative religion project compiling translations of the primary texts of all the worlds major religions into a single book.

I see you repping home town with the Old Bay seasoning 👍🏾
Old Bay🤤🤤
Oh my god yes ❤
I recently read a case study that emphasized on the tiny size of Japanese homes. I never expected this tiny and I’m in awe😅. I think I need to give UK homes some accolades here. However, I must commend how the space is maximized. Ah-mazing 🤩
I live in the UK and to me her apartment doesn't seem that small at all . . .
For just one person I’d be happy with the size pol
I hope the price of UK apartments/studios were as cheap as the ones in Japan.
The tiny size has more to do with being in the Tokyo area than it does with being in Japan. When I first moved to Japan I had to stay way out in Chiba and it was at least a 20-minute train ride from the heart of Tokyo. Anyway I was staying in a 3 bedroom house with roommates and the house was not much different than a 3-bedroom house in the States and was more than spacious enough. Still, I did not stay there long as I always knew I wanted to be right in the heart of the city. And getting something in a prime location in my price range of course meant that it would be very tiny. For me it was worth the trade-off however as I was able to ride my bike to Shibuya or even Roppongi fairly easily. By the way, apartment prices in Tokyo are not only determined by the area you are in but also by how far away your apartment is from the nearest train station. If it’s less than a 5-minute walk that is good and this will be reflected in the rent. If its so far away however that you need to ride a bike just to get to the station before catching your train then this is bad and you can get a much better price on that place. The point is, if you don’t mind having to take a 20 0r 30-minute ride into the city center and you don’t mind being far from the station you can get a lot of space for a very reasonable price.

Your apartment is functional and cute. The light that comes in is just gorgeous. There is so much that can be done with small spaces. For example, putting away things in furniture that has doors. Another way is by using the walls for displaying books, plants and special “trinkets.” I love your space! I am glad you are happy there!
同じく一人暮らししてる、日本人の女です!お部屋可愛いです!コタツがあったり、調味料も親近感湧きました笑
日本での生活楽しんでください❤
こんにちは〜
この種のアパートがどこにあるか知っていますか?
I am Japanese who live in Los Angeles. Your life in Japan is soooo interesting!❤
😂😂😂thank you. I want to see your life in LA. I bet it’s interesting too😀
Am amazed at how small legal living spaces in Japan are and how cramped and built up it is outside. No wonder tourists think Scotland (where I live) is beautiful
Your apartment is so cute! It's way better and more equipped than the tiny apartments I see in NYC. I personally wouldn't mind living there for the price! I also love that you have a washing machine. Sweet video!
God i wish we had more affordabl housing like this in the US. It looks so cozy, versatile, kinda of smart. 432$ in the US won't get you an apartment with a doorbell camera.
$432 won't get you a bedroom in someone's house!
@@leese.23 my bed room in someone house already cost me $300 in 99- 2000..23 years ago loll ....well they let me eat their food sometimes tho loll
This looks SO COZY. I think it's absolutely realistic to live in this tiny apartment for some time. Seems very minimalistic and clean and easy to maintain 🤭
Also suction cups from daiso alows for winter coats, company coats etc umbrella place on entrance door. If you move fridge closer to wall and place black cart on other side saves more space
Suction cup that toilet area and bathroom up baskets from daiso IKEA bath towel hair stuff extra toilet paper etc😊
That apartment is spacious, it just needs to be strategically organized. Look at tiny home videos
Fun thing, there is a Daiso stores in Texas. Layout and lighting is not like typical stores in America.
I think the loft area makes it really livable. It’s cute!
You go, woman! You're up to 42.3K subscribers! ONLY 57.7K subscribers to go! Keep it up...I love your apartment. When I studied violin, guitar and piano in Japan with Master Suzuki, I lived in a tiny little loft I built above one of my workspaces. Your space is even cozier!
Oooh, your kotatsu is the perfect area to read books and relax. I have that Alchemist novel in my Amazon list to buy this year.
Congrats on reaching 10,000+ subs. We are on our way to 100,000!
It is!! I love it so much! 🥰 Every time I read The Alchemist I learn something different. I hope you enjoy it if you haven't already read it. :D Thank you always, FreeSpirit88 for being here and for your support. 🥰
@@EnimsLifeinJapan What made you go to Japan.
@EnimsLifeinJapan You're welcome! 😊
I've been getting back into reading books this year. I've even started following booktubers too. I've heard sooo many people say that The Alchemist is a favorite of theirs, so I hope to read it by this summer.
Lovely layout of your apartment.I like the loft area and also the fact that you have two windows that let in a lot of sunlight. Ithink this whole place is very cosy.
Oh wow! Good size apt with everything that you need and so cheap! You have your head on your shoulders young lady and great to hear that you have other languages up your sleeves! Thanks 🙏🏿
I like your apartment, its tiny but you did such a good job using that space, i find it impressive. Also, the reasons why you chose that apartment are really good reasons
Something really cute about having blue LED lights in particular when writing late/evening notes in Yokohama haha. Cute place!
Impressed. I was lucky to be married and stayed in a apparently large house while I was there! Miss that house. It is gone now, replaced by two smaller homes on the same piece of property!
hi, I’m actually moving to Yokohama pretty soon as well and I was looking for apartments just like this one since they’re so common, this video was really helpful to see how to organize the space well, appreciate it
The alchemist is my favorite book as well. Your apartment definitely is cozy and homey.
It's so good, right?! I've read his other books too, but still come back to The Alchemist. I wish you the best...but you know the best is already coming for you. 😀
WOW! $436 monthly is very cheap! You are so lucky! Thank you for showing us your apartment. I enjoyed it when Jasmine showed it and I enjoyed it when you Enim showed it 🥰🥰. Also, Im kinda nosey so I would be interested to see what was in your fridge lol, I have this thing where I like to know what people's diet is like lol I'm weird like that 😂🙃🧐
Yes!
Grateful for your outlook on life in Japan Enim.
Its Jamie Davies I live in a independent apartment in the UK Hawa Lari my friend.
Now that it is winter time in Japan, I have definitely fail victim on many of nights to my Kotatsu 😂! Its so weird, like I would be in the middle of reading manga, fall asleep, have a dream that I am still reading, wake up and realize that I fell asleep 😅! I definitely adore the way you maximize the space in your apartment!
If I lived there I'd sleep downstairs, those stairs kinda freak me out, and also I'd always end up hitting my head on the loft area. So I'd use the loft area for all my storage and only get up there if I need to get anything and end up living downstairs all the time.
This apartment has some nice features and spacious areas vs comps.
💕Your loft apartment is so cute💕
Thank you! It's so small so it gets messy very easily, but then it's very easy to clean 😃
Congratulations Enim! Everything about you Seems unique and I'm loving it.. Im definitely one of those 10k subscribers. Sending love from the USA
I have the alchemist on Audible. Your space is cute. I don’t think it’s super tiny, but I do appreciate having a full kitchen with my small condo.
Loved seeing the Old Bay on the spice rack! You are truly a woman of refined taste.
That's much more spacious than a lot of the tiny Japanese apartments i've seen recently.
This is so wholesome I love your videos and yuta's as well as many of the abroad in japan video's
This was so cute & fun! Also it’s adorable to hear how Japanese inflections have crept into your English. 😊
Ok but this apartment is great and you have decorated it beautifully..I love love love the kotatsu!
I have studio apartment and I'd gladly take yours. You have so much light from the windows and the loft are is so cozy. Truly love it.
I think I’d be able to survive with a tiny room if I ever go to Japan 😊 I really like the coziness and small areas that only I can access, if that makes sense hehe
I could do it when I was younger, but not now. I could not get up to the loft to sleep. Over 60 has its drawbacks!
Cool stuff,enjoyed the video!!
this apartment is definitely goals, looks so cozy 🥺 I stayed in a small apartment with a kotatsu in Honancho when I visited Japan recently and I loved it!
This is a great way to maximize space
that futon and mattress combo... chile, I bet that sleep feels like heaven - whew
It's AMAZING! On my first floor my kotatsu is always on a mattress. I practically lounge all day. 😩
I love your apartment! I rented a 1dk in Fukuoka for 3 years which had a good-sized balcony. I now live in a 1dk (small studio apartment) in the UK. Small flats are so cozy! And such fun playing with the layout so that you still have space.
Very interesting. I like and appreciate your content. Thank you for sharing!
Wow!! The second level, really makes a difference. It really is a great use of space.
Thanks for sharing your space with us!
I've seen SO MANY japanese apartments but I like yours the most. it has an easy feel about it somehow. it also looks comfortable and not extremely compacted like the usual sardine can I usually suffocates me
I like you. I'm gonna subscribe 🤗 I came here just on a random scroll thru YT and ended up really excited to see how I can improve my Spanish speaking skills lol 😂 LBVS I need that so bad because I've been studying it since 4th grade and I'm 29 now and I freeze up during conversations as if my mind draws a blank on everything I've learned I'm spanish. I'm on Duolingo and have been practicing in there since 2012. Keep up the great work love and keep those affirmations up, they will take you far. 🧡
Your apartment is so clean, organized, and sparsely filled I am envious. How long have you lived in Japan and what is your occupation if you don't mind me asking? I also live in Yokohama, and have for a couple years, though in total I've lived in Japan for going on 8 years now. I've definitely accumulated quite a bit of stuff, not so much, but it's difficult to get rid of things and keep things sparse and tidy like you have. (I'm an English teacher for primarily elementary school students).
Looks really cozy.
Thank you so much for sharing your loft and views of the city you live in. They're both beautiful! 😍👍🏾👌🏾
My pleasure 😊 Thank you for watching
Very informative and enlightning. You are obviously bright and well traveled...which makes your channel even more interesting. The apartment is super cute and imaginative...Kudos!!! Hope you acheive 2023 goals...much success!
Loved your place!!!
You seem like such a beautiful person inside and out! ❤
Love your apartment! ❤
When you said, that's enough space for you.... I doubted it🧐... until I saw the under cabinet space with room... You are an Awesome Adaptive Person... 🏆👍🏾
Hello from the Netherlands, I appreciate your content as I can relate living in Amsterdam and having to downsize significantly even though the price is higher, but much happier living abroad. Keep up the good work.
I'm look forward to your videos and channel growth . Thank you for the e book.💖💖💖
Thank you for your video. Can’t wait to visit in a few months. Oh, and love your apartment.
100k subscribers by the end of the year? Yeah, I think you'll get that and more.
This was such a nice video! Loved seeing how you used the space 😊
i like this kind of apartment. so minimalist.
Your place is small but looks comfortable. Love the heated table! Thank you for sharing. 🥰
I’m under the heated table now. 😊 It’s so cozy🥰🥰🥰🥰. Thank you for your comment
Ok, so I just watched this guy show these apartments empty and then u popped up! I loved seeing how u decorated this space.
Your apartment is so cute and cozy.
Love your tiny apartment. So cute 😊
Your personality is adorable 🥺❤
Enim it's so cute and cozy.
I really like your apartment it feel that your apartment is perfect for one person
Found this page today. I am going to visit one of my first trips will be Japan. Love your hair. Thank you. Be blessed.
Another nice video. Thanks for sharing. Best regards in your adventures.
I love the caricature at the end of the video. Somebody has got your essence in one cartoon.
I love your vibe ✨️ definitely subbed ✅️
Your home looks very cozy and well designed, i like it a lot 🥰
For a small flat this place actually seems quite large and the bed has a good amount of headspace. Nicely kitted out. Lovely idea with the blue lights. Thanks for showing us round 😊
Small but comfortable enough with clean and advanced design .
Amazing!
Enim, I love your Japanese apartment.
tiny and super cute & cozy! i'm super envious of that couch area! lol
Wow, such a cute and cozy apartment and with plenty possibilities to optimize storage space if you’d have to.
7 months later. 7,0000 subs turned into 71,000 subs. Congrats!
Thank you! :)
What a cute apartment, you really made the best of a small space.
the apartment is cute, you on the other hand are lovely and I wish you have a wonderful time in Japan
Your layout is the best I have seen in. Japan tiny apartment
Very cute!😍
Pretty nice size apartment. Enjoy🤗
Thank you for the your and how impressive you are learning Japanese and Spanish!
Wow hey fellow UB Alum 🎉 so happy for you!!! it’s good to see your doing well🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Sempre fico impressionada com quem lê Paulo Coelho fora do Brasil. Mas é muito legal de ver esse fenômeno. Ótimo tour real de pequenos espaços no Japão!
I was reading about Paulo Coelho from The Alchemist. He's very famous and wonderful author.
This vid is awesomely too.
From JPN🇯🇵
Thanks for sharing
I love the tiny apartment tour...I wold really encourage you to go more vertical! with a large amount of wall space above the fridge and microwave you could add shelves and just keep going up up up....even your food rack (or similar) can be mounted on the wall. Get a good little step stool and you are good to go! thanks again, I enjoy seeing how people live in other areas of the world.
Omg I love it😍😘❤️
I want to live in your apartment. The kitchen is definitely a minus for me, but everything else is just exactly what I want from an apartment.
