🚨 I LOVE FEEDBACK AND IDEAS! 🚨 If you have any video ideas or feedback, I’d love to hear it in the comments below. I’m replying to everyone. Thanks again for the kind support legends! ❤
Nice cozy apartment, it's difficult to find a $500/m apartment in Japan that's this nice. That sunlight is wonderful, a bright apartment is priceless, sunlight is very important, you should consider adding some plants 🪴
I couldn’t agree more! Sunlight is one of my top things to consider in my living space and this place has an abundance of it haha I am a HUGE plant lover though, as Im not permanent here, Im trying to keep my things as minimal as possible. Wish I could though, I’d have a jungle!
Mate as a fellow Australian from Sydney, Australia who is hitting 30 years old soon and seeing you enjoying life so far in Japan in school and how life works dor you it makes me hopeful that I can also do the same and be able to live in Japan one day and see if I can live/stay longer as well. You have earnt a subscriber
So good to hear from a fellow Sydneysider! And don’t worry you still have plenty of time to make that dream a reality. Just need to set a firm date and goal to reach as a target and don’t loose sight. That’s how I finally did it after almost loosing hope on the dream! Mate - I appreciate the support and the sub, and wish you the best of luck with your future move to Japan 🇯🇵
I can't get why people who live in much better place than Japan dream of living in Japan. For me a guy who had lived in New Zealand, Australia and now living in Japan don't really see why, why???
1LDK = 1 bedroom + living room + dining/kitchen space 1DK = 1 bedroom + dining/kitchen space 1K = 1 bedroom + kitchen space [which usually doubles as entrance hallway]
Haha who would turn down a free bike! Like the brakes don’t really work, it squeaks a lot, and the seat isn’t comfy, but Im owning it! Thanks so much 🛎️ appreciate the support legend!🙋🏽♂️
This was a great tour. There isn't enough male living spaces in Japan shared on youtube! I am planning to live in a 1LDK when I comeback to Japan and this was very helpful to understand the dimensions I am expected to work with when it comes to furnishing my own place in Japan. I'm 6'2 and this was a great watch as another tall person.
Thanks so much for that feedback! Yeah, that’s right. Japanese apartments can be really small but also for taller people like us, things like the height of door frames can be a real problem. Generally, if you can find a newer or renovated apartment you’ll be sweet! Good luck with your move back to Japan buddy 🇯🇵🙋🏽♂️
Yeah I swear the light is one of my favourite parts. Though! I am noticing since the warmer weather is coming, it is starting to become rather hot inside alot. I didn’t account for that 😜 Thanks for watching and the comment Lisa!🇯🇵🙋🏽♂️
I appreciate the feedback Em! It’s not bad right?? Perfect for one person. I reckon two people could get away with it but it would start stretching it. And YES! NATTO EVERYDAY for breakfast is a must especially at only 79¥ 😭
This text was written using translation software. Japanese kitchens are low, so be careful not to hurt your back when cooking. Japanese people also feel that it is low. lol🤣
Haha I completely agree! It’s funny you say that, I was just talking about that a couple hours ago. The lost count the number of times I’ve hit my head 😅 Thanks for the support and I’ll always wear a helmet in the house going forth 🙋🏽♂️
Yeah, that place was an absolute steal although I have moved on from that apartment now and live in the new apartment with my family. But I do miss it! That place was such an amazing deal. I was super fortunate to get it when I first moved here! Thanks so much for tuning in again, buddy 🙋🏽♂️
What a great video!! I feel like you covered some of the important questions I wish I knew before I moved to Tokyo for my studies. Also, the Tokyo rent was CRUSHING but worth it in the long run for me. Keep up the great work!
Hey buddy - thanks so much and Im glad you enjoyed the video! Oh you lived in Tokyo I see. What was the rent like there for you? I’d say it’s about double in comparison to Fukuoka hey. I love Tokyo but I’d prefer Fukuoka personally to live long term hey.
All three apartments are nice in different ways. I think yours is the nicest. It is fully furnished and includes the utilities. Purchase a bidet and you aren't missing anything. I really love all the natural light that you get. Largest balcony area too. No fancy face recognition but it did come with a bike. Thanks for sharing.
Yeah I do really love my place. And you are right, it is just missing that bidet upgrade, than its perfect but for the moment it works amazing for me haha Thanks so much for the feedback and watching both videos buddy ✌🏽🙋🏽♂️
Hey, hello Christian, just came across your video. What a great apartment. You're right it is a good deal with everything included. Interesting facts about the magnetic walls. The rolls are great ideas too. Good luck with you studies. Watching from United States.😮😮😮
Thanks so much for watching mate! Yeah I absolutely loved that apartment so much even though it was short lived and I’ve upgraded since to a larger space with my new family! Appreciate the support 🙋🏽♂️🇯🇵
Yes, Fukuoka is a lively student town, inexpensive, moderately rural, and very easy to live in. The airport is close to the city center, so it is easy to travel to Tokyo or other Asian countries like Taiwan. I hope you enjoy your stay!
Great and accurate review of Fukuoka. I love that it’s by the water, not congested and have all your access points such as international airport and Shinkensen. Love this place. Thanks so much for watching mate 🙋🏽♂️✌🏽
Japanese apartments, small as always hehe, works great for one person and this one looks really nice! Keep up the work with the videos, love your style!
Haha so true right! Though Im pretty fortunate to have one that is bigger than my normal stays AND a seperate room for sleeping haha I’m just glad its not a studio apartment, half the size you know?
Thanks for tuning in buddy! Yeah I really love the way of life here, it’s really fitting to the person that I am. Love it here! Hope to hear from you again soon mate 🙋🏽♂️🇯🇵
It’s not bad right! Yeah I’ve had a few comments about the light, it’s my favourite thing also hey. Though Im not finding since it’s more hot, it’s getting…warm haha I still love it! Thanks for tuning in buddy and hope to hear from you soon!✌🏽🙋🏽♂️
I'm headed to Fukuoka in July for language school as well and just got my apartment floor plan which looks pretty similar. I really appreciate the comparison, thanks for uploading!
Oh that’s so awesome to hear, I bet you are well excited! I hope you got a decent sized apartment though haha Thank you so much for watching, hope you enjoyed it legend. And best of luck with your move to Japan 🙋🏽♂️🇯🇵
@@hangswithchristian I just watched your "Day in a Life" where you mentioned you were going to GenkiJACs, me too! Appreciate the well wishes and maybe I'll see ya around!
@@hangswithchristian Yep, in Fukuoka! I actually just watched your $400 vs $600 apartment and I'm almost positive I'm in the same building as the $600 one, so I think I pulled the short end of the stick on space😅
Oh true! Well say g’day if you see me abouts mate 🙋🏽♂️ thanks for supporting. Is your apartment the same layout as the $600 one also with everything included?
Absolute legend mate - I super appreciate that feedback hey. Love to hear that people around enjoying the content as Im having a blast making it. Thanks for watching 🙋🏽♂️✌🏽
Great video! Loved the different camera angles and flow of it all. I have been living in Fukuoka for 2 years now, so I definitely agree that is a great city! I hope you enjoy!!
Thanks so much for watching and for the kind feedback mate! Oh true, you live in Fukuoka? I have questions! Haha What is it that you do here and any favourite local places you love? 🙋🏽♂️🇯🇵 Appreciate the support buddy!
@@hangswithchristian Hey Christian! Thanks for the reply. I am studying a Masters degree 🔥 and favourite local place I think it depends haha. Favourite temple: Dazaifu, Favourite park: besides Oohori and Nishi Kouen I love Kasuga Park, favourite coffee place Rojiura Café and so on💕
Oh wow, that’s so cool. May I ask what your Masters is in? And they are some great recommendations. I do love Dazaifu, I’ve been there a few times already and I was at Ohori Park on the weekend haha the other parks I’ve added to my list. I’m still getting to know Fukuoka, I absolutely love this city! Thanks for sharing mate 🙋🏽♂️
@@hangswithchristian Of course! I am studying a Master in Design. For Nishi Kouen is cool especially during night time. Glad to share! looking forward to your next videos 😊
@@SaikyouNihongo oh that sounds amazing! I wish all the best with your journey. If you or your university friends are interested in being interviewed one day in the future, send me a DM on Instagram or email! And thank you so much for watching mate, truely appreciated!
HI. I am Japanese and want to let you know that Uwabaki is a name of shoes that students wear at the school. It called SULIPPA (Japanese pronounce ) witch is slipper. hope you enjoy in Japan.
Love your videos man. I have kinda the same Apartment here in Tokyo. However my washing maschine is in a shared space, my room is a bit smaller. But I love the similarities
Oh that’s pretty great for Tokyo mate! Shared laundry machine can be pretty common in alot of buildings in Tokyo. Do you mind sharing monthly how much other is for comparison? Is it pretty central? Appreciate the support also legend 🙋🏽♂️
Always liked the way you share and chat on in such a friendly manner - from the fuzzy top 🟢🚽 - midori - magnets 🧲 and catching a sun tan 🧴 on the balcony 😂 - glad to see you’re enjoying it all! 🚴🇯🇵
Aww thanks some incredibly kind feedback mate! I just love hearing when people around enjoying watching my content because I have a blast making it 🎥 Where you watching from if you don't mind sharing? Always love hearing it!🙋🏽♂️🇯🇵
Oh what’s your name? I would have worked with you so do you know me from there? Haha I can only see a tiny profile picture so it doesn’t really help me sorry!
To actually have a separate bedroom is such a luxury. I've stayed in a couple apartments about the size of just the kitchen/dining area. What school are you attending? Your videos are so well done. Thanks.
Hey Kim, thanks for the support! I know right, Im so lucky to have a slightly larger space than the typical studio, ‘I can barely stand’ apartments. Also, just have door frames I can walk through without hitting my head is a dream 😅 Are you considering a move to Japan yourself?
I'd like to do 1 year at a language school and considering GenkiJACS. Hard to find a relatively recent video/review to help with the decision. If you have any personal experience you'd like to offer, I'd love to hear it. Thanks.
That’s a great question. So what I did when looking for a school here was emailed all the school I was interested in, and asked them questions about their focus for teaching and a little about their school. I also check Google reviews. GenkiJACs has a great reputation for their focus on speaking. Really getting you to start using it straight off the bat. But if your focus is more on the reading and writing part it might be better to shop around? I hope that’s helpful! My next video will be around why and how I moved to Japan. Any how hard it was etc. I hope you find it helpful and manage to find your own way here!
Haha mate - I have a slight new obsession with magnet solutions now! Am I still a minimalist if I have hella magnets everywhere? Probs. Probs not. Thanks for the support you inspiring legend. Waiting on the visit ✌🏽
Nice video, cool flat, btw keep your inside slippers up inside the step to your "inside" part of your room. Your genkan floor is considered dirty so you would want your inside room slippers there. Step UP into them,,, a clear separation from "dirty outside" and "clean inside"... and.. I see you like NATTO! awesome, me too!
Oh that’s great feedback. Maybe once I’ve been here a few months, I’ll have a better idea of monthly costs for myself and I can share that! Thanks for the idea mate 🙋🏽♂️✌🏽
Hi Christian, Thank you for sharing your rental house tour. Can i ask which shop did you get the extendable shelf shown in your video at 3:48 and also the extendable pole which you hung your towel? Thank you.
Hey mate! Its great right, pretty sure I bought it at Daiso. All of the ¥100 stores ($1 stores) here have so many rad solutions! Thanks for watching legend!
Thanks so much for the watch mate! Yeah I used to feel exactly the same until I finally took the leap but it wasn't easy. Hope you at least get a trip to Japan soon 🇯🇵
Haha I totally understand this. I was living in Sydney prior to and was paying $425, a week…just for my room in a shared apartment haha This is heaven for me 🤣 Love Adelaide, I went to CBC primary school there for a couple years! Thanks for tuning in legend 🙋🏽♂️
Great video, the apt. looks decent for the price. One thing I would like to mention is that your 上履き (uwabaki) shouldn't technically touch the 玄関 (genkan) floor so they don't get any outside dirt on them, especially the underside
@@hangswithchristian yup definitely amazing! U should try it! I still wanna explore the rest of Japan slowly haha. Will be back again end of this year!
Hello from Australia I love your apartment I would love to live there one day & rent one like yours as you get older u don't really need much things ... TFS just subscribed to your channel
Hey legend! Always great to hear from people back home, welcome to the community and thanks so much for tuning in! Yeah it's a simple apartment but it's really nice I think right. I prefer minimal myself also and I hope you get to live that dream here one day yourself mate. Appreciate the sub 🙋🏽♂️🇯🇵
nice apartment tour! Good to know that Fukoka is alot cheaper. $500 that includes everything is really really good deal, in my cuontry $600 only get you the room and it is not near any stations. Your videos make me feel that living in Japan is not only for the rich. I am really interested to know the cost breakdown and what level of Japanese is required to know the paperworks/handle daily conv etc. Cheers!
Thanks for watching! Yeah it’s very affordable if you are coming from a stronger dollar country. Japan really isn’t expensive to live. I used to think so myself but it’s very affordable. Oh that’s great feedback! I get alot of questions regarding this. I think I need to put some time into making some informative video’s on costs and ease of daily life here. Thanks again 🙋🏽♂️
@hangswithchristian Thanks for replying! Yes. Japan is really a nice country to visit but the language, complicated paperwork, crazy working culture, fear of discrimination and cost of living makes foreigners think twice about living there. Your video has shed some light that it may not be as scary as we think! I have shared to my friends, please keep it up!
Ah thank you so much for sharing! Yeah, that’s totally all valid points. Things do operate very differently here and much like anywhere it isn’t perfect. But I’ve always believed that any place is what you make of it. I’ve always been open to the people and my experiences here and that has led me to some great situations. But the language barrier and paperwork can be very tricky…especially the paperwork haha I hope you too get to have your own experience here soon mate 🙋🏽♂️
Yeah it’s a hard choice right! I love my space personally, but than there is all the setup costs. It’s really a space vs financial situation the more I look at it haha
@@hangswithchristian Depends on how long you'll live there I guess :) If you live shortly guess I even prefer the 600 all included one since nothing to buy xP But yours and the other 400 one are so spacious and good for long term :D
Would be interesting to see some akiyas. Might be interesting to consider. I taught in Japan years ago snd was not aware of them -- if only I'd known st the time.
Ah hey man this is a really dope apartment. I'm considering a move to Japan myself, was going to apply to JET anyway but language school came up on my radar recently. Are you at a language school or doing an exchange thing with your uni or something? Either way enjoy, seems way more chill than Tokyo, as much as I love that place haha
Thanks so much buddy, Im super happy the place I snapped up. Suits me perfectly! I’m here on a student visa myself but I think any of those routes here are very popular and a good choice. If you have the freedom to come here and doing language school than move onto JET later, even better. When you looking at moving? Sounds soon? Yeah I love Tokyo so much, but Fukuoka is way more relaxed. It’s an amazing place! Good luck!
Thank you so much for the support mate! Haha I totally understand what you mean. I do still love Tokyo so much and it’s where most of my friends are, but Fukuoka is definitely more suited to me and my lifestyle. You’ve been here before yourself? Recommendations! And ps, bidet is on the list of improvements😅
Uwabaki needs to stay on upper level/hardwood floor rather than genkan level so that your uwabaki won’t pick up soil from outside. Genkan floor used to be compressed dirt in old Japanese houses.
Hey mate! Haha yeah appreciate the feedback, It has been mentioned in the comments plenty of times already 🥲 my mistake but I love that people are looking out! Appreciate you tuning in 🙋🏽♂️🇯🇵
Yeah it’s not bad hey - everything included also! I love all the natural light but what I didn’t think so much about was during summer here currently, it turns it into a sauna haha Thanks for watching buddy 🙋🏽♂️🇯🇵
How did you get this appartment. Maybe I missed it in the video. I love all your stuff. SUBBED UP! I am relocating from the netherlands to Fukuoka JP in October!
Thanks for the sub and feedback, truely appreciate it and love hearing it! Oh yeah, maybe I went over it too fast. I actually got this apartment via my language school luckily. Super fortunate to get such a great place. Are you coming as a student or for work?
When I move house, I have to be sure to find a unit that is small. If I don't, it will be too easy for the clutter to take over. I learned that the hard. way
haha I do TOTALLY UNDERSTAND THIS! Over the years, I've learnt to be super minimal and only have things that I truely love and need. My living space is super important to my mindset and focus. I think when I move to a larger space, I will be interested to see how that evolves though I still want to keep that mentality towards my living space. Thanks so much for watching buddy and hope to hear from you again soon 🙋🏽♂️🇯🇵
I didn't realise how cheap it was to eat out, there. That would be about five quid a meal in the UK, yet if you wanted to do that over here, it would be about 15-20 quid for a restaurant meal!
Absolutely right! Its well cheap here, I love it. Though in comparison to there lower wages here, they have to be that cheap. Im fortunate to have come with savings that can stretch much further than when I was in Australia. Which sounds super similar in prices to the UK 🇬🇧 Good to hear from you again buddy 🙋🏽♂️
@@hangswithchristianThanks, and it would be cool if I could sell my house here, buy one near Tokyo if I could get a good deal so I got the same size house for cheaper, or just buy a piece of land, and find a way to teleport this place over there. 😃 Also had a thought about those wooden chairs. They need replacing with a La-z-boy 😁
Haha time to make that dream a reality! Time to put the plan into action I think. The only thing I have found here is that land for sale can be quite expensive as that’s where the value is. And the blocks of land near the cities are pretty small. Have to go a little bit out to get a decent size. Haha would love a lazy boy!
@@hangswithchristian Yep, I definitely feel like it's time for a change. However, if I went for an apartment, I'd need two of these in the video next to each other, so I could make the second one my home cinema room, and knock through between them 😁 A reliable La-z-boy would be great. I had a proper one for years, but it would break down every other year and need them to come and fix something. I've currently got a chair that's similar to them, but even after 6 months, it's got problems. They don't build things like they used to! (now I sound old 😁)
Haha yeah absolutely. Tokyo is very expensive though. I love Tokyo and its where most of my friends are but I think now, I couldn’t live there. That’s just me personally. Definitely do your research and travel around of you are really thinking about a move because in my opinion, there are so stunning locations here and its worth the hunt. You’ll save a ton of money also!
Thanks Carolyn - it’s not bad right! Especially considering everything is included in the price makes it a great deal! I’ve heard Canada has become quite expensive now? I haven’t been there for almost 20 years.
Haha it truely is right! I’ve heard Canada is actually pretty expensive these days, is that right? May I ask what a rough monthly cost is on a student dorm in Canada is?
This study option with accomodation looks so good! Which language school do you study through? I have heard hit and miss stories with language schools, so I'd love your input into the company which is best in Fukuoka. So interested to do it one day with my teenager and both of us plan to study and live there as an experience. G'day from Victoria, Australia 🇦🇺. New subbie here.
G’day mate! I love to hear from my fellow Aussie legends 🇦🇺 Ahh Im keeping where Im at a little private sorry! But what I did to find my school was email them all and ask what their focus was and how they teach. Also, check reviews on Google! Haha Though that sounds like such a great plan you have with your child, that would be such an incredible experience for them also! Really appreciate the sub and watch. If you have any questions during video, never hesitate to drop a comment and I’ll respond the best I can!
Haha right! OMG, so two things I wanted in an apartment when moving here: - Toilet room seperate to the shower - Laundry machine…INSIDE! Seems simple but in smaller apartments, that isn’t always the case right??
Yeah its a great size for one person and I love that it gets so much natural light. Bit warm in the summer but it's worth it I think! Thanks for watching mate 🙋🏽♂️🇯🇵
haha Actually my latest video I just posted yesterday, I talk about getting married and that I actually just moved out of this place into a new apartment with my family! New apartment video coming soon but thanks so much for tuning in legend🙋🏽♂️🇯🇵
Hello your video popped onto my RUclips page this morning,I watch a lot of you tubes about Japan so this isn’t surprising, I live in Queensland. I am coming to Japan in November and am joining a tour group. I arrive into Fukuoka at 8am and the day is for me to explore at my leisure. Would you please suggest some places for me to explore/visit. I’m interested in seeing some temples and shrines. I am interested in visiting the laying down Buddha, I believe it’s called Nanzoin. Thank you
Oh a fellow Queenslander! That’s amazing, thank you so much for watching🙋🏽♂️ Okay, I’ll give you some suggestions but not sure how busy you want your day haha I would go straight to Nanzoin Temple. There is a cute udon place there that opens around 10.30am called Kojin Chaya for early lunch. Then come back to Hakata and go to either Tochoji Temple or Kushida Shrine. Next to Kushida Shrine is Canal City for shopping also. There is also Shofukuji Temple close by. Then close out your evening going to what Fukuoka is known for which is Yatai’s around Nakasu which open around 6.00pm! I hope that helps and you have an incredible trip Kaylee🙋🏽♂️🇯🇵
where/-howww did you get this place? im moving to Japan next month and it's been so difficult to find one such as great as this! also love the vid! you look like a cool and friendly guy!
All the information is in the video🙋🏽♂️ Must have missed it but my apartment was fully arranged by my language school so I was incredibly fortunate. So if you do plan to come as a student here, it’s definitely a great question to ask your school if they can support you in finding a place. Best of luck on your upcoming trip mate and thanks so much for the great feedback!✌🏽🇯🇵

What a nice apartment. Can you make a referral where to find one as well? My daughter will be transferring to a new apartment next year after staying into her dorm in Kyushu university. Would you mind to share so we could find one before summer comes next year. Thank You and God bless.
Actually this unit was arrange completely by my language school, so there wasn’t any direct contact I can share exactly. Though Kyushu university is so large, that they would most definitely has a department catered towards assisting students with accommodation in the city and generally alot of school have existing relationships with real estate companies! I would suggest enquiring sooner than later though as I arrange mine with my school one year before arriving and ended up with a really nice place. Others at my school weren’t as fortunate for the same amount of money! Best of luck mate 🙋🏽♂️

Ohh really?? British houses have unit box bathrooms like this also? I thought it was only in Asia that these exist🫣 Thanks so much for tuning in buddy, Im glad you enjoyed it and hope to hear from you again soon 🙋🏽♂️🇯🇵
@hangswithchristian yeah 😊 our bathrooms come standard with a toilet, sink and shower/bath combo. You do get the odd house where these an extra room with a single toilet (as a 2nd one), but there is still usually a main one with all in one. Also another thing people find weird is we have our washing machine and tumble dryer in the kitchen 😂 that usually throws a lot of people haha. British houses are soo small compared to bigger countries so we've adapted to make everything fit haha!
@@happycatyoutube OMG! I NEVER KNEW! haha that is so wild. I always thought you guys would have similar layout to Australian houses with everything having individual room and whatnot. Learning everyday! Haha Actually you did remind me of the laundry machine in the kitchen from when I visited the UK so I have seen that and you are right, it did throw me off. But really, that’s okay, good way to save safe. Though the toilet thing is a big ‘not for me’ thing! 🤣 Thanks for the share bud!
Yep! Definitely an oversight there haha Also got brought up in another comment 🫣 Keep the clean away from dirty haha Appreciate the looking out and the support Kat!

Hahaha so good! Appreciate the effort on the transcription ✏️ I still love that movie so much, it used to make me excited about living in Japan and now I am living here and still love the movie! Yeah I definitely lucked out with this place 🏠
1:02 hey man. I don't mean to be a dic, but indoor shoes should not be on the lower part of the genkan and your bare feet should not be touching the lower part of the floor either. It defeats the purpose of having a clean home :P 1:52 Be mindful since most WC are located in the hallway which is narrow. Avoid placing something big in front of the door area where it could accidentally fall over and block the door. If you happened to be inside, you could be trapped. There was a real case that happened to a lady. In Australia, do you have the issue where the hot water will ran out if the person before you take their time showering??
Appreciate the feedback buddy! Actually you aren't the first to mention it on this video...maybe about the 10th haha it's the only thing I missed in the video that keeps being brought up 🤣 Yeah actually, I've been brought up since I was young being mindful of my shower times because of the hot water running out. Though I even do it in modern places still even though it isn't required haha HABIT!
Japan has a reputation of being expensive, but an apartment that size would be 5 times as much in a city like New York or San Francisco and salaries are not 5 times higher in those cities compared to Tokyo.
I used to believe that viewpoint myself, but really think it only applies mostly to people living and working here on a Japanese salary. As a foreigner coming in, I think it’s reasonable. Though, this apartment isn’t in Tokyo, which is why is much cheaper also. Though you are definitely right, New York, or even Sydney where I was living before would be far greater in rent for the same apartment! I am currently enjoying these prices haha
@@hangswithchristian The other thing I found interesting about costs in Japan is that prepared meals you get from 7-11 or similar are often cheaper than you can make at home if you buy the ingredients. Enjoy your time there.
It’s clean, has lights and space! Have you seen the $2500 apartments in Manhattan?! It’s a dark closet and windows facing nothing (or windows so dirty can’t see anything!) bathrooms are old dirty as well..In comparison this apt you have is Heaven! For 500 bucks!
Haha yeah New York is crazy expensive hey. This place is an absolute dream in comparison! I definitely lucked out with it for sure haha For $2500 here, I would have a super nice house in a great location I think 🤔
Hi Jess, Thanks for watching, truely appreciate it. Great question! My apartment was arranged by my language school but Im thinking about researching and looking into how to find apartments here in Japan as a foreigner and making a video about it. Would that be an interest to you?
Hey mate! Yep - this apartment was supplied by my school and is only for students. They prices are generally a little higher than normal because it’s really difficult for foreigners to rent here in Japan on their own. But its nice that everything was included in this price!
great video! i was just wondering are you allowed to monetize your videos while being on a student visa? (my assumption is that it's considered 'freelance' work, is that allowed?)
To be honest, I haven’t really even thought about that as I think that is a long way off haha Though, you are allowed to work as a student in Japan if you wanted to. It’s something like 20 hours a week or something. Unless you are doing remote work for an overseas company then you are free to do what you want really. Considering a Japan move yourself bud?
Awesome sizing for one person right - so perfect! Unfortunately I moved on from there now to a different place which I made a video about not long after 🤣 let me know what you think!
Thanks for tuning in! Oh that’s great feedback. I didn’t know that. I will definitely assess that when editing my future videos. Thanks so much for letting me know 🙋🏽♂️✌🏽

If you have any video ideas or feedback, I’d love to hear it in the comments below.
Sunlight is one of my top things to consider in my living space and this place has an abundance of it haha
I am a HUGE plant lover though, as Im not permanent here, Im trying to keep my things as minimal as possible. Wish I could though, I’d have a jungle!
You’re telling me yall never wash your hands after you got to the bathroom
It's probably Australian $.🤔
Isn't there working holiday visa for people from Australia up until 30? Maybe you can still apply!
I can't get why people who live in much better place than Japan dream of living in Japan. For me a guy who had lived in New Zealand, Australia and now living in Japan don't really see why, why???
What a great apartment. Love the light coming in through the windows. Also love the variety in camera angles. Excited to see the upcoming videos.
Thanks so much for the feedback buddy!
The natural light in the apartment is wild, one of my main things about it.
Appreciate the support 🙋🏽♂️✌🏽
I forgot I was watching an apartment tour. All I could see is You are so tidy and organized. Loved this❤
Haha that is so kind of you to say, thank you so much for watching. I truly appreciate it! Hope to hear from you again soon mate 🙋🏽♂️🇯🇵
What a charming, functioning apartment. I love the set up and it definitely looks cozy. I'm a fan of the minimal life style, awesome job!
Another minimalist - love it right! Appreciate the kind words and support in the watch mate 🤙🏽🙋🏽♂️
1LDK = 1 bedroom + living room + dining/kitchen space
1DK = 1 bedroom + dining/kitchen space
1K = 1 bedroom + kitchen space [which usually doubles as entrance hallway]
Great breakdown mate! Appreciate it 🙋🏽♂️
“If it’s free it’s for me” 😂 I’d be stoked with a free bike … that’s an awesome little addition.
Super happy to see that the place fits your needs! ❤️
Haha who would turn down a free bike! Like the brakes don’t really work, it squeaks a lot, and the seat isn’t comfy, but Im owning it!
Thanks so much 🛎️ appreciate the support legend!🙋🏽♂️
Including a BIKE? now that's a good deal 😂
This is actually such a nice place for 500$
Solid deal, right haha
Roof over my head and some wheels. Stoked!
Thanks for the watch buddy, truely appreciated 🙋🏽♂️
Great apartment. Love all the natural light. It really is an efficient use of space. Thanks for sharing and for the videos 😊
Yeah I swear the light is one of my favourite parts. Though! I am noticing since the warmer weather is coming, it is starting to become rather hot inside alot. I didn’t account for that 😜
Thanks for watching and the comment Lisa!🇯🇵🙋🏽♂️
I am loving the videos! It’s a lot more spacious than I thought it would be. Love the nato in the fridge 😊
The lost count the number of times I’ve hit my head 😅
Thanks for the support and I’ll always wear a helmet in the house going forth 🙋🏽♂️
You had me at "the bike came with the apartment." I agree with the slogan, "if it's free, it's for me." Great find for the monthly cost. 👍
You keep a nice home. Very tidy and comfortable. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much - its a cozy little place. Not too big or small! Appreciate the support 🤙🏽✌🏽
And you are right, it is just missing that bidet upgrade, than its perfect but for the moment it works amazing for me haha
Thanks so much for the feedback and watching both videos buddy ✌🏽🙋🏽♂️
Hey, hello Christian, just came across your video. What a great apartment. You're right it is a good deal with everything included. Interesting facts about the magnetic walls. The rolls are great ideas too. Good luck with you studies. Watching from United States.😮😮😮
Thanks so much for watching mate! Yeah I absolutely loved that apartment so much even though it was short lived and I’ve upgraded since to a larger space with my new family!

WONDERFUL apartment!
Thank so much mate - it was a great first apartment moving to Japan. I loved it so much! Great natural light hey!

Though Im pretty fortunate to have one that is bigger than my normal stays AND a seperate room for sleeping haha

One of the best one man apartment in Japan I saw so far !! Thanks man,,🎉🎉

Also, just have door frames I can walk through without hitting my head is a dream 😅
Are you considering a move to Japan yourself?
Looking forward to more videos! 👍

nice apartment tour!
But the language barrier and paperwork can be very tricky…especially the paperwork haha
I hope you too get to have your own experience here soon mate 🙋🏽♂️

Uwabaki needs to stay on upper level/hardwood floor rather than genkan level so that your uwabaki won’t pick up soil from outside. Genkan floor used to be compressed dirt in old Japanese houses.

Which sounds super similar in prices to the UK 🇬🇧
Good to hear from you again buddy 🙋🏽♂️
@@hangswithchristianThanks, and it would be cool if I could sell my house here, buy one near Tokyo if I could get a good deal so I got the same size house for cheaper, or just buy a piece of land, and find a way to teleport this place over there.
😃
Also had a thought about those wooden chairs.
However, if I went for an apartment, I'd need two of these in the video next to each other, so I could make the second one my home cinema room, and knock through between them 😁
A reliable La-z-boy would be great.
I think that’s a pretty super apartment compared what I’ve lived in in Canada when I was in my 20’s.
Thanks Carolyn - it’s not bad right! Especially considering everything is included in the price makes it a great deal!
I’ve heard Canada has become quite expensive now? I haven’t been there for almost 20 years.
That looks like a steal for a student. Nice better than my university dorm in Canada. What do you study in Fukuoka?

Haha it’s not quite an Akubra but it’s close! I am a fan of my brims hey. Love em’
Good eye! 😝✌🏽🇦🇺
nice and cozy! get a bookcase in there and make it cozier lol.
haha Actually my latest video I just posted yesterday, I talk about getting married and that I actually just moved out of this place into a new apartment with my family! New apartment video coming soon but thanks so much for tuning in legend🙋🏽♂️🇯🇵
@hangswithchristian oh grats! Looking forward to it!
Good find!!!! $500? Wow wow wow
Absolutely right! Such a steal for that price - i was superr lucky haha
ohayo konichiwa okobenwa, the opening made me really laugh. good vibes and good luck
Haha thanks for tuning in legend - yeah I wanted to say a proper hello to all those timezones!
Just curious, what do you do? Great video and nice apartment!
Right now, I do this, making RUclips videos and enjoying life! 🙋🏽♂️🇯🇵
That’s amazing, thank you so much for watching🙋🏽♂️
Okay, I’ll give you some suggestions but not sure how busy you want your day haha
I would go straight to Nanzoin Temple.
All the information is in the video🙋🏽♂️
Must have missed it but my apartment was fully arranged by my language school so I was incredibly fortunate. So if you do plan to come as a student here, it’s definitely a great question to ask your school if they can support you in finding a place. Best of luck on your upcoming trip mate and thanks so much for the great feedback!✌🏽🇯🇵
@@hangswithchristian Sumimasen! you really explained that 🤦🏽♀️. Thanks for the answer though. I’m travelling alone from Argentina 🇦🇷 with a WorkingHoliday Visa, I hope I’ll find some nice place too!
And I’ll keep watching your videos to learn more about Japan :)
That sounds like an amazing journey. You have up-and-coming! Thank you so much for washing it and I wish you all the best with your working holiday Visa. Have an absolute blast year!🙋🏽♂️
What a nice apartment.
10k+ views! Let’s gooo!
Yesss! Thanks so much tuning it buddy 🙋🏽♂️✌🏽
I really like you're apartment 🥺 it's not that bad
Thank you so much for watching!
It’s not bad right, I really love it here. It’s my perfect little escape 🙋🏽♂️
Appreciate the support and the comment mate 🇯🇵✌🏽
Love how you hate the toilet in with the shower but like 90% of British houses are like that too 😂 loved this video! Thanks for sharing 🥰
Ohh really??
British houses have unit box bathrooms like this also? I thought it was only in Asia that these exist🫣
Thanks so much for tuning in buddy, Im glad you enjoyed it and hope to hear from you again soon 🙋🏽♂️🇯🇵
Haha
Actually you did remind me of the laundry machine in the kitchen from when I visited the UK so I have seen that and you are right, it did throw me off. But really, that’s okay, good way to save safe.
Though the toilet thing is a big ‘not for me’ thing! 🤣
Thanks for the share bud!
@@hangswithchristian hahaha! Love hearing about how everyone else lives! 🥰🥰 hence why I stumbled upon your videos! I've watched a few of them now 😁
Haha well Im glad you did and thank you so much for watching through them legend ✌🏽
Btw the indoor slippers needs to be up on the top not in where the genkan dirty shoes goes.
Yep! Definitely an oversight there haha Also got brought up in another comment 🫣 Keep the clean away from dirty haha
Appreciate the looking out and the support Kat!
No problem 💯😁
Every time you say "uwabaki" I can see and listen the teacher from Tokyo Drift saying it XD
🤣 I am so glad someone brought that up as that is exactly where I learnt that word! Every time I say it, I am referencing that movie in my mind haha legend!
Thanks for watching DK 🙋🏽♂️🇯🇵
@hangswithchristian "👩🏻🏫ARA ontu Uwabaki nudukudu kiteru enu uwabaki👉🏻🖐🏻👉🏻🖐🏻 UWABAKI" XDDD I don't know even how to spell imagine write it! i tried my best trying to transcribe this part from the movie hahaha it is transcripted in spanish IDK jj Your apartment is soo nice btw and cheap I guess for the prices there right? I hope i could find one like this in this price here in Barcelona too. haha blessings and succes!ruclips.net/user/sgaming/emoji/7ff574f2/emoji_u1f590_1f3fb.png🖐🏻
@@hangswithchristian DQ 😎💅
Hahaha so good! Appreciate the effort on the transcription ✏️
I still love that movie so much, it used to make me excited about living in Japan and now I am living here and still love the movie!
Yeah I definitely lucked out with this place 🏠
Apologies, DQ 🙇🏽♂️
Gawddang…. This apt would cost double where I live… 😢😢😢😢
Haha and like 4 times minimum from where I was before. Living the rental dream here hey!
Great space and price.
Yeah, I really lucked out with getting this place. Such great value for money right!
1:02 hey man. I don't mean to be a dic, but indoor shoes should not be on the lower part of the genkan and your bare feet should not be touching the lower part of the floor either. It defeats the purpose of having a clean home :P
1:52 Be mindful since most WC are located in the hallway which is narrow.
Actually you aren't the first to mention it on this video...maybe about the 10th haha it's the only thing I missed in the video that keeps being brought up 🤣
Yeah actually, I've been brought up since I was young being mindful of my shower times because of the hot water running out.
Haha yeah that is true for some things. If you get a chance, always go to the supermarkets, cheaper again! 🤣
I definitely lucked out with it for sure haha
For $2500 here, I would have a super nice house in a great location I think 🤔
Hi there! Could you recommend how to find these kind of apartments or through which agency? Thanks for a lovely video! kind regard//Jess
Hi Jess,
Thanks for watching, truely appreciate it.
Great question! My apartment was arranged by my language school but Im thinking about researching and looking into how to find apartments here in Japan as a foreigner and making a video about it. Would that be an interest to you?
It's like 768 aud .. and 79000 yen !!
Sure is! Great price for everything included 👌🏼
Noticed your title says STUDENT ACCOMMODATIONS. So is this apartment and price only for students?
To be honest, I haven’t really even thought about that as I think that is a long way off haha
Though, you are allowed to work as a student in Japan if you wanted to. It’s something like 20 hours a week or something. Unless you are doing remote work for an overseas company then you are free to do what you want really. Considering a Japan move yourself bud?
It's an awesome apartment.
Thanks so much for watching mate - appreciate it!
Yeah Im so happy with this place 🏠🇯🇵
Compared to a micro apartment, this one is huge!
Awesome sizing for one person right - so perfect! Unfortunately I moved on from there now to a different place which I made a video about not long after 🤣 let me know what you think!
Showing off them legs!
Such a nice apartment for its size!
Wish Sydney is affordable like that 🥹
Keep up the good job!
Haha they are some small pins!
I know right, Sydney is soo much more expensive. Feel so much more free here 🙋🏽♂️
Appreciate the support buddy!
Thanks for your videos, but sometimes I can't hear well your words, maybe you should adjust the audio. Hope to see more of your videos!!!
Thanks for tuning in! Oh that’s great feedback. I didn’t know that. I will definitely assess that when editing my future videos. Thanks so much for letting me know 🙋🏽♂️✌🏽
@@hangswithchristian no problem! I liked the video of the beaches of Osaka! Would be nice seeing more travel videos too if you have the possibility. Also, it's passed long time now since you arrived in Japan (seeing when you first started with your first videos) and would be nice to get some updates on your stay and plans for life etc!
All amazing suggestions!
This is the feedback I absolutely love to hear, thank you so much Jade 🙋🏽♂️
I’ll see what I can come up with along those lines and show a video maybe a little more about me and my journey and how its been going. Nice one ✌🏽 thank you mate!
@@hangswithchristian happy to have helped with some suggestions! You could make some videos about your life in Japan as a student or as an Australian and talk about the differences between Australia and Japan for example. Or what isn't allowed in Japan that is allowed in Australia for example. Or just the difference of culture.
Anyway I will make sure to have the notifications for your videos on, in case you will make more interesting videos.
Good luck with the videos :)
@@jade_purplegalaxy Legend - keep the feedback coming I always love to hear it Jade. At the moment Im just trying to find the time with school to make all the things I want to make haha
But this helps alot!
