    The process of making paper is quite intricate, especially when done by hand. What intrigues you the most about Gangolf Ulbricht's skill?

    This is one of those forgotten skills. Not sure if it will make a comeback, but still, this is a really interesting skill to have and he seems to have a very deep passion towards paper making. Well, hope his demand grows. Thanks for sharing National Geographic.

      People love mass produced stuff - cheap and in bulk. But there is passion in love in a handcrafted item and there are people who are into that (me) and willing to pay good money for anything "tailor-made".

    Does anyone else find it ironic that so much liquid is used in the making of paper despite water being paper’s worst enemy?

    • @NottAzure
      @NottAzure 6 лет назад +6

      Its like paper is made from removing the water, and when water is added it reverts back as he uses recycled paper

      Joseph Gomes yes I think it's fantastic my comment was just in general we can make all paper from hemp alone there's a lot of things we could make with hemp much stronger than cotton but in no way was I trying to say anything bad about the video

    • @josephgomes6829
      @josephgomes6829 6 лет назад

      nitpoon ahh okay sorry if I confused your comment. I totally agree. Hemp is like a wonder plant, you can use it for almost everything. There is a company in Germany, I believe, making pre-fab houses using hemp. Amazing stuff, paper, cloth, medicines. Is there really nothing you cannot do with it??
