  • I would be remiss if I didn't add a song from this particular artist. Frank Boggs is special because he was Word's first recording artist. He recorded at least 10 albums I'm aware of and probably more. Most artists didn't get that many so he must have been very popular. He went on to have a long, fruitful career that's STILL going on. Most recently, he's directed the Georgia Festival Chorus based in Atlanta. This particular song, though, is an early recording from the mid 1950s from the album "The Splendor of Sacred Song" (back then, this sort of style was referred to as "sacred" music). This was one of those "blockbuster" albums that had not one but two records. If you like the arranging, you can thank the one and only Paul Mickelson whom I've posted and wrote about many times. Some might think Paul overdid it on the arrangement but it really is fitting for a voice like Frank Boggs.
I'm a lover of sacred music from the 1950s through the 70s. I have about 300 record albums and I digitize the best of them and post them on YT for others to enjoy.
God's richest blessings on you for listening to this music.

I have been A long time admirer of Mr.Boggs' music for many years. While browsing around around a Chirstian book store I came upon his first (if maybe not the very first) of his recordings on the Word label titled "I walked today where Jesus walked'. The most I treasure is "The Splendor of Sacred Song' with the London Orchhestra The Man is an absolute perfectionst!!
Never got to meet the man, but through his music he seems to be very humble man of God Being 89 now I'll have to wait little longer to meet up with him. RIP BROTHER FRANK... I LOVED IT!!!!!

What a treasure! I have known Frank Boggs since the late 1960's. He is still singing and directing the Georgia Festival Chorus at 90 years old. What a set of pipes he has!
