You dont have to do that. If you filled it with the nib and grip section on it'll work immediately bc you dunked it into the ink to fill it. I have a collectioj of around 15 pens and ive never done this with a single one and it works immediately after filling it with a converter. The only time it hasn't it with a cartridge, which is normal
That can contaminate the ink. If u do that spray it in the garbage so no foreign objects get into your ink. Other than that have fun. I’ve been doing tons of drawing with these pens. So fun
Ok, but when I inevitably get the ink on my hands...how do I get it off so I don't have to walk around with green fingers for a couple of days? Any tips?
I’m newer with using fountain pens, but I will say with more saturated inks, I wear gloves when filling and dabbing the excess ink on the nib. I’ve had a rough time trying to scrub inks off my hands, especially noodlers ink (and I just used the forest green, not even a bulletproof or waterproof ink of theirs). There’s some stuff I use at work (I work with paint) called Kresto ATP, which is an adhesive, tar, and paint remover, but it will take anything off your hands. I also recommend buying gloves that aren’t dark so you can see the ink on the gloves, that way you don’t mistakingly touch something with the gloves that you can’t see if there is ink on that particular spot of the glove.
I twist it back down to squeeze a bit of ink out so it works immediately

This was perfect, I got my first pen with a converter today, and wasn't sure how to use it. Thanks for posting.
Glad it was helpful!
Its better to push the ink back and again pull it back then it fills fully otherwise its either half full or 70%
Now show us the pen actually working
Thank you
For showing the wrong way?
Beautiful and informative
You dip the converter itself. Your way it's just 2/3 full.
Does the ink matter like is there a certain type?
Instructions unclear
It doesnt have catridge
Can some translate this, I don't speak Canadian
So much air in that converter. Can they not be filled completely?
