    I myself like as glassy smooth and I'm used to adjusting my writing so it doesn't skip.
    The whole point for me is to get away from scratchy rough wrighting pens. If I wanted scratchy, I'd just write with a ball point.

      @@pen.venture BTW, I received my order of Waterman Absolute Brown ink. It was the only place I could find it and can undamaged and in perfect condition. Something I can't say for any of the inks I have recently received from Amazon! They came all crumpled or even outside the box they come in. Really appreciate the care you took to package them!

    Hi ! I missed the live, but I am watching the video now.
    I have smoothed nibs in the past, with success, but everytime the nib ended up slightly broader that it initially was - so I am eager for some professional advice.
    By the way, I purchased several pens from you, that you checked yourself before shipping ; and every single one of them was top notch. No need to smooth or tune these pens once you have checked them ! They were pristine !
    Thank you for this video and much warmth from France ❤

      Thank you so much - I always try to help people with my content. Regarding what you mentioned on the adjustment is the fact that you develop a foot on the nib, if a sphere (im referring to the iridium ball) is touching the paper, the contact surface is small, once you start to put it to the abrasive paper and take a chunk out of it without rotating and making figures of 8 while adjusting it, you are like cutting and maximising the contact area that is why a smaller nib size writes thicker lines after this.
      I always try to adjust the pens of my customers in order to have them smiling once they get to try them out of the box :D

    Where do you get these pads ?
    I usually use simple 6sided nail polishing stripe for 1euro and it works.
    Indeed this knowledge is underrated, I can even make a fude nib out of simple jowo6*

    • @pen.venture
      @pen.venture  Год назад +3

      I bought those pads in a kit on eBay - its like stuff for painting and buffing paint :D - that nail polishing stripes work too - if im not mistaking I think a few of those where also with the kit I bought I must have a look to see where they are :D
      Every pen person must know how to do these small things in order to make a pen write how they like - then if we talk grinding and all of that - that is really a talent, an art that needs both practice and vocation :D for that - I like to pay the people that really have the skills and talent

    Start with the finest abrasive, not the coarse

    • @pen.venture
      @pen.venture  Год назад +2

      it doesnt have logic what you say - you start from the most coarse and move downwards polishing more and more, thats the point of making it smooth, shaping with coarse and moving down to making the tipping shiny, you dont start with the finest

    Why do so many youtube speakers have awkward spaces between words, but edit out every pause between actual sentences, which is when you’d want an actual pause?

      This is done to maximise the time of a video and to help the person get the best info in the shortest time possible - mostly when it comes to tutorials and educational content, its a must - this is why we cut the lag time and make it as short and as informative as possible
