I've seen this movie like 3x. Last time, just now. Micheal Mann is one of my favorite auteur of my generation. The 3rd act is what all final acts should be. A climax to the plot brought about by the motives of the protagonists. I refuse to spoil it but will say the following. The end can not be simply described. It was a sorrowful joy or a poignant satisfaction or a tragic sweet love. Each ,IMO, is true. FYI, that is true for all Michael Mann's movies.
@carltontaylor6500 agreed alot was going on. My biggest complaint, you could see the potential for Foxx and Farrell to have the Crockett/Tubbs chemistry but it felt like they barely said 3 words to each other in the movie!
@@hanibalking7593That's interesting; to me they gave off the relationship vibe of twin siblings who could almost finish each other's sentences and can tell what the other one was thinking without either having to say anything. Initially to me it felt like a partnership that had been around long before they were even cops, but I think I might have to rewatch it again although I just did a month or 2 ago(i have not watched original show). Something I felt like was a bit of a drag though is Farrells love interest in the villains wife/girlfriend, I grew somewhat impatient with their whole thing they had going on.
One of the best films of the 21st Century. And such a great tribute to the original TV series too, picking up on what was so exciting about that.
The loudest gunshots I have ever heard in a movie lol.

a must watch 🐺
The trailer is much better than the movie
Not Mann’s best work. When remaking/rebooting you should always go simpler he went into WAY too many plot threads
