i’ve been fasting from all social media except for youtube because i’ve been watching a lot of sermons, I like to have a prayer paddle board ride because i live on the lake and it’s nice and peaceful in the morning. whenever i feel tempted, i watch a sermon.

Is awesome to see that our God has called many of us to fast from our phones/social media ❤ I am on day 7 of my 40 day social media fast. I deleted , Facebook, Instagram,TikTok and all gaming apps from my phone and only kept RUclips because that is where I listen to worship music and sermons. The first day was horrible and hardest but I've been having such a good time with God so far, my ears have been more opened to the sound of his voice and on day 2 while I was listening to instrumental soaking Christian music on RUclips, I was able to experiencea breakthrough and for the first time ever I was able to worship God in the spirit... and let me tell y'all, It was AMAZING!!. I pray God gives you all the will power to push through your fasts and experience breakthroughs during or after fasting 🙏🏽 ❤

Then the temptation won't be as hard because you will not have all of your entertainment apps readily at your fingers and you gotta make sure to spend time with the Lord, talking to him, reading his word. Make him a part of your day at all times and before you know you will be fasting! Imma tell the same my sister told me which is very through the hardest day is the first day when we decide to do something for our God because our flesh wants nothing to do with it! I'll say a prayer for you brother! God bless 🙌🏽

I also pray you feel his precense strongly especially during times of temptation! I pray you feel so much closer to the Lord at the end of your fasting journey and that the ears of your heart and soul are more sensible to the quite whispers of his voice ❤️
You know what’s perfect timing, ive been on a social media fast, today i hit one month and that was my goal! I mean I did go back on tik tok, but it was to preach God’s word because when there’s something that God puts on your heart, you know it’s something that needs to be shared. God bless everyone’s soul!
Im on week 4 and I feel completely fine without it! Prioritizing certain aspects of my life such as focusing on school, working as a nurse, my self-care, my family, and of course using this season to grow spiritually with the Lord. It feels great to remove the root of what makes you envious of others that you miss the mark on your blessings, that root, to me, is social media. I’m starting to find new and healthy hobbies such as studying theology ( from the Bible of course ), Bible journaling, worship, and having long convos with God! I am planning to go on solo dates, although it won’t be technically solo ( going with the Holy Spirit 😂 ). It feels great to remove such toxic platforms, you won’t regret it, thank you 🫶🏽

When I go to the park I have that same Hammock Chair, and it has been a life-changer regarding how much longer I read my Bible. People always walk by and asked me where I got it and then I get to talk to them about Christ.

3:50 Oh my goodness!! Lucy is looking so much like Lokelani, she is absolutely adorable. This video had so many great pointers, {Psalm 119:37} "Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to your word." Social media (unless being used to spread the Gospel) is a timewaster. We as Christians need to be spending time away from screens and picking up hobbies that work our Spirits or bodies. We could read the Bible, or learn to roller skate, or we can learn how to paint and worship God through art. Its the little things that we can implement God in that makes our day centered around Him. May God bless you Alex, Lokelani & family and this ministry that is being used by God to strengthen the body of Christ and place us into community. Man this is so good! I used to go on social media fasts for months at a time while in college and it was amazing. Now it’s just part of my lifestyle to only have Instagram on my phone when I need to post about something, check messages, etc. Other than that, it doesn’t have a home on my phone and it really makes a different in my life.
Been social media free dor a year. So much release of stress and seeds of temptation.

I dont have any social media other than youtube. The only other one that I had was Facebook and it caused me a lot of painful problems in my marriage and family. Awesome video! I think picking up a new hobby (or an old one) would be good too :) Learn a new instrument, paint, draw, learn a new language, etc. Something that keeps your mind engaged in a healthy way and can also help you express your faith in truth. Also maybe hold conversations with the people around you if you can. We get so stuck on our phones sometimes we hardly even know what's going on with those around us.

the park or the beach is my favorite place to be to read my word. there is something so refreshing about sitting out and enjoying Gods creation while reading & it has definitely helped me get out of a lot of spiritual ruts!

Thank you God for this video, temptation gets hard but this reminded me to pace myself and enjoy the days I have for what they are. Time to get some puzzles for my Husband and I. :)
I’ve recently decided to let social media go permanently. It was mastering my life and keeping me away from God. Today makes 1 week since I’ve made that decision and I don’t even miss it, I never needed it. It’s just that I was comforted by the dopamine hit.
After a long day I would use social media to relax and unwind instead of reading my Bible as relaxing or listening to worship music. I prayed and asked God to refill my spirit and repented because I was the one who drained my spirit because I wasn’t supplying myself with the things of God.
Doing this has allowed me to be still and God heard and answered my prayer to be healed from the damaged my use of social media has inflicted on me, that is- a short attention span, comparing myself to others, seeking validation and pretty much an addiction.
I’m not all the way there yet, I do have some desire and curiosity to take a peek at it but I have to be steadfast and feed my spirit more.

I’ve been fasting except for watching sermons. God is teaching me so many things on this fast. I’m fasting because I’m getting baptized and I want to learn as much about God as possible before I take this massive step in my relationship with him

I have been off social media since February 2022. I would wake up and check my Facebook then I realized I’m on my
Phone for 15-20 mins watching just random videos. I was so bothered by it God told me to take a break so I did and I’m so thankful I did because mentally I am better. More time to be thankful for what the lord has done for me and my family. Also PACE is big as well because I was able to slow down and take my time. Thank you for this the prayer walks sounds amazing ❤️❤️❤️

I’m a growing christian, I know this is supposed to be private but I fast a week every month since january (march i tried it for 40 days and finished it successfully), however i notice it isn’t entirely God focused, my mind wanders wantonly for hours without food for days consistently, but i think of Jesus every day. Again I know I’m not technically following the given model but, I’m hoping I change, not sure where I wanna grow but I enjoy fasting, thinking and praying on my free time to say thanks is more frequent. Just a suggestion btw :) big tip: Christian youtubers can blow your mind a lot to help make the hours go by easier lol!

And you have more power than you think :) The Holy Spirit gifts us power and the grace to do whatever God leads us to do. If giving up social media it something you truly believe He wants you to do, trust He will help you through it.
Maybe you could start small with just one day of no social media a week (or even a few hours where it is off limits in one day) However he leads you. I believe in you :)

Hi! Could any brothers or sisters give me some advice on this, About 2 months ago I kinda felt like Jesus wanted me to fast for a week so I kinda did (I gave up halfway through then finished it out eventually) and about 3weeks ago I felt on my heart that Jesus wanted me to fast so I did. The second time I started prayer pacing and I felt so much peace after I walked with God. Now I can’t really tell if He wants meto fast again. I think so but I’m not sure. Mainly because I listen to the voices in my head and sometimes I second guess if it was really God who told me something. The other reason for me not wanting to fast is my family’s reactions. I really don’t want them to be like “why are you fasting again”. Because I’m unsure myself. My family love the lord and they would encourage me but I still don’t want the questioning 😩💖

For thought for thought I would recommend the New Living Translation(NLT) or the Message(MSG) version. Both are very good at conveying the scriptures in a contemporary easy to understand way in English. I personally use NLT when I don’t understand what the ESV Bible is saying. God bless

Choose the Word of God as it is life to those we read and breathe to one’s whole body. Many have claimed to be the savior or the one who existed before his time but seek the Holy Spirit. You will know what the truth is. It took me feeling the love of God through the Holy Spirit to really know. Pray without ceasing about it. You can never annoy God
Hey, it’s really admirable that you have this desire to follow the "right" God. I know your question isn’t adressed to me, but I encourage you to read the Bible in order to learn more about Jesus and the God that christians are devoted to. Here is a brief overview of the difference between the christian God and other deities.
In many religions, the believers need to accomplish rituals and live a “good life” in order to please their god and to wash away their sins / their evil way of living.
But the God that is presented in the Bible is a God that is completely aware of our sinful nature. And He knows that whatever the ritual or “good deeds” that we do in our life, we‘ll always fall short from His glory and will never be able to please Him, on our own. That’s why He sent Jesus on earth.
By living the sinless life that we can’t live and by taking our sinful life onto him when he was sacrificed on the cross, Jesus became the *THE* way for us to go to God.
Jesus became like a bridge between God and the people who believe in him. Jesus restored the relationship between God and man, which was broken because of our sin. And no one and nothing else can restore this relationship, except him.
So I strongly encourage you to read the Bible, which is inspired by God. Maybe start with the Gospel of John, of Matthew, of Luke and of Mark, as they carry the words that Jesus spoke when He was on earth.
Then, read the rest of the New Testament, which illustrate the life of early Christians, the struggles of Christian life, the victory and the grace that is available for us, and prophecies concerning Jesus’ return on earth.
And finally, read the Old Testament, which will help you further understand the character of God, and how over a period of thousands of years He prepared Jesus’s coming and sacrifice on this earth in order to deliver humans from their sins and restore His relationship with them.
Reading the Bible in this particular order is not mandatory of course, but I believe it will help you better understand the christians’ God to whom you want to devote yourself. And pray! Ask God to help you understand what you read and to speak to you... and He will :)
