I use to dumpster dive every night, it’s amazing to see some of the things people call trash. I have found old books that were rare and I made good money on them. It got to the point to where my wife and I would rent a spot at our local flea market . We paid $ 10.00 a day (Sat & Sun ), and in those two days we made up to $ 400.00 sometimes more ! I almost forgot, always check the pockets on clothes , and every book check them out money on many occasions, yep! hidden between those pages , paper money !! Thanks Mike ! Beaumont here!

I enjoy watching the picking. It's only metal scrapping, true, and the real money is the youtube income but the curiosity of finding dumpster gold is the same. 35 years ago, this was me, diving right in. Miss that era for my youthful attitude about life as much as the compujunk I built a business with. But my time is over, and there are young guys to take up the slack, like Mike here. Go get em, dude!

The problem is - he is profoundly clueless as to online marketing / arbitrage and flat out business itself and profits / profit potential. While simultaneously being obsessed with scrounging for what he considers "scrap" - and literally EVERY video he posts - he throws away hundreds or thousands of dollars of ( many times new in box ) retail items.

Bear in mind that millions of people go through trash each day, some of us to make a few more coins and others just to survive. It shows how wasteful we are when you see food thrown away and perfectly reusable items of all descriptions. Look at videos of people discovering old rubbish tips and dumps. If they are old enough there will be no plastics, only wood and metals, potteries and other natural materials. In the year 2121, you could envision most of our dumps and tips to be seen as pollution rather than just waste. Will we leave it to future generations to clean up all the plastic and so on or could we maybe employ hundreds of millions of people to do this now? Mike does his bit by recycling what he can. The politicians seem to blab on about green policies but don't come up with a green workforce to clean up the polluting rubbish which has been accumulating for a century on planet Earth. We have a pollution crisis not a climate crisis and we have the people power to begin the mammoth task of cleaning it up.

Our UK politicians made dumpster diving a criminal offence in the UK a few years ago, so everything goes into landfill here now!
If the 5-0 see you in a skip/dumpster they will arrest you if you do not have permission to be in it.

That just shows that it’s not about the health of the planet to these politicians….it’s just a ploy to get more money from us and to u more restrictions on us…in the UK where they made it illegal…they’ve done that in some of the cities around here..I almost wonder if there isn’t a way to sue the cities for the negligence because in the end..the people at for it…either in fines or fees for the disposal or another tax they want to impose on us for the green excuse..so if we have to pay for it then why aren’t we able to get a benefit from it…they say identity theft blah blah which is bs cuz 99% of that happens from online fraud and hacking….

I sometimes work on computers in restaurants. A few times at the end of the business day at a buffet, I have seen an employee filling up a trash can with perfectly good food. I wish I could have loaded up a few containers to take home, instead of seeing it all go into the trash.

It is shameful. I live in a state where it is illegal. And I find it so frustrating because schools and government buildings do not recycle paper, cardboard, aluminum, plastic, food in the lunchroom, anything. If a child has an unopened package of food, carton of milk, or untouched fruit it has to go into the garbage instead of leaving it out for someone else to have. Less fortunate or not, why just throw it in the trash if its unopened? It has been paid for.
Our whole society has become so wasteful, it is like we have an unending supply of everything so no need to worry. And the government is perpetuating the problem. It does not want to help, and most certainly does not want us to help ourselves!

Mike, Did you know that there is COPPER in those Lithium Ion Batteries?
It's not much, but there is a thin sheet of copper along with a thin sheet of aluminum in there. Trick is getting it out without Starting a fire from the Lithium coating on the insulator. (air and moisture will ignite lithium)

Those w"Walking boots must be from a medical supply place or a Doctor's office! They look like the one I have for when I fractured my right ankle a while back. I actually had another one back in 2006 from a broken left foot. I don't know if you could resell them or not...or if a local free clinic would take them as a donation for their patients.

Those dumpsters are on a scheduled pickup per dump. When we used to have a dumpster that could be dumped again that was extra, if the company took care of us we would load all the extra crap outside the dumpster. If they wouldn’t take care of us we would tell them to call for another dump. Mostly restaurants would give us a free lunch’s and market’s would give us stuff, sometimes money and sometimes beer. You scratch our backs and we’ll scratch yours, most people wouldn’t believe what we would find, although you would. Even money like you, mostly at apartment buildings.( clean outs) that’s why I love to watch you, I’m from Miami but I’m always watching from Panama City Florida, USA. 🇺🇸. Retired. !

That was a good haul for you! I am so curious how much change you find and what's all in there. Lol I use to wait tables and get a lot of change it adds up fast. I'd put it in a large jar on our fridge and cash it every so often, I think the most I got was about $200. I dont waitress anymore but still love finding change to throw in the jar.
