Hey Guys in this episode we head out chasing some Barramundi. As luck would have it on the very first dive of the day I came across a decent Barramundi and managed to get a good shot into it. On top of this Luke found a special bomby holding some big fat coastal trout. After a curious encounter with a decent shark I managed to secure one of the slob trout from the bomby. From here we check out the project boat, there has been a lot of progress since last episode.

No pin stripe. Keep it clean with circle numbers / Haines decal and name . Great video mate, can’t wait to see the Haines running
Thanks for commenting mate and checking the vids out 🍻
Boat's looking good mate - nice and clean without pin stripe. Leave it off and you can always add it later if you want.
Thanks mate I was thinking the same. I’ve sourced the stripes so I’m ready to pounce if I decide to do it haha.
Definitely add the pin stripe. Gives definition to the entire boat.
Thanks for your input mate. It would definitely add to the lines of the boat 👍🏼
How good is that boat looking! Ide wait until you've got your gunnel rubber on it then run a stripe with just tape and see what you think. Easy enough to waste the tape then waste a pin stripe. Are you doing a shade with clears that could change how it looks with a themed colour too. Ide black and white theme the boat with that big shiny donk on it. Black gunnel rubber with a white centre and lots of chrome 😍 awesome build you've gotta be proud of your efforts mate!
Thanks mate, that’s a good idea. I did originally say in the vid (but removed it to cut back on the endless chat haha) that I’ll have a powder coated black canopy, blacked out windows etc as well. Thanks for the input mate 👌🏻
No pinstripe for me! You've made it your own, keep it that way!
I wild Hutch appears, FYI you would be proud of my tafe efforts! Thanks for the comment I’m definitely leaning more that way mate.
Great video dude, well done. No pin stripe for me! That's a beautiful clean Haines, just fine the way it is!
Thanks mate, I’m glad you enjoyed it. They are a beautiful hull. Cheers 🍻
Clean....Keep it clean!
Thanks for your input mate 🍻
No pin stripe for sure. Clean and mean
Yeah that’s what I was thinking. I’m a big fan of keeping things original as well which is tearing me apart haha.
Yeah leave the pin stripe off. Good vid, great to see good fish in close
Copy on the no pin stripe. We have some amazing fish in close around here!
Hey mate, personal preference i wouldn't do the pin stripe. if you have any mates who are good on the photoshop give them a good side shot of the boat and see if they can edit one in so you can compare with/without.
I’m half decent at it, I was going to give it a crack and see what I think. I do like the clean look without 👌🏻
Leave it off. Bloody awesome job.
Thanks for the input mate, and checking the vid out 👌🏻
The tub is looking Mickey Mouse bro. Videos are epic keep it up
Thanks mate, cheers for checking the vids out man 🍻
Jesus mate, absolutely beautiful job🤩 re pinstripe, it def sets it off, but considering your build is clean af, you could always chuck it on later.
Thanks mate, I’m thinking that’s what I’ll do hey. Get it all done and decide on it after 👌🏻
No pin stripe for me, clean look all the way 👌
Thanks for your input, that’s definitely the way I’m leaning.
definitely no pinstripe, its too clean, youve done a hell of a job mate! awesome footage too
Thanks for your input mate. Looks like this is the general opinion haha. Thanks for checking my vids out as well mate 🍻
You make me keen to get out spearfishing your boats looking great. Awesome adventures to come with that
Thanks mate, I’m keen to get it out there. I’m trying to work through and do everything right rather than rush towards the back end.
Been watching from the start a no vote for the pin stripe looks awesome
That’s awesome mate, thanks for checking them out. Thanks for your input, I’m definitely leaning that way 👌🏻
No to the pin stipe for me. I think it dates them too much.
Yeah that’s where I’m stuck with it because of the whole keeping it original thing. Thanks for your input mate 👌🏻
I agree with bendiver6224. Leave the pin stripe off. You can add it later
Yeah I think that’s the go as well, thanks mate 👌🏻
No to the stripe, keep it clean. Have loved watching this build, it’s getting so close to being done! Should be ready for Cloughy Challange this year?
Copy on the no stripe. Hopefully it will be mate. Just time and effort at this stage, fingers crossed for Cloughy.
Boats looking nice mate
Thanks mate, it’s taking a while but I’m enjoying the process 🤙🏼
I rate the pin stripe breaks up the white in my opinion. Currently have it on my white 17 Haines. Only downfall I have noticed, the sticker vinyl you buy off the shelf for the pin strip is pretty average quality and is easy to mark/rip.
Thanks for the input mate. I found a company that does custom sizing etc for the pin stripe. Hopefully the quality is a little better if I decide to go that way 🍻
Nice video mate💥
Thanks for checking it out mate!
No pin stripe, I reckon. If you change your mind down the track you can add it but if you put it on now and then change your mind, it twice as much work!
I was already leaning towards this. I’ll definitely get everything else on and done before I do it….if I do it.
Keep it clean looking no pin stripes
Thanks for your comment, it's the way I'll go I think 🍻
Boat looks wicked mate no to the pin stripe
Thanks mate, it’s been a long time coming. Glad it’s finally coming together!
No pin stripe. You can always do it in a year from now if your still thinking if it
Definitely no pin stripe mate. Gunnel rubber went on today. Stickers go on tomorrow. It’s looking stealthy 🥷
Coming along great 👌 I vote no to the pin striping 👍
I’m definitely leaning that way as well man 🍻
I think a pin stripe might actually be ok. How do you stop the barra bending the shafts? Some decent force there!
Yeah I know what you mean I recon It will definitely look alright with a pin stripe. I'm just really digging the 'cleaner' look haha. I've got a few old bent shafts there from Barra, the first Barra I ever speared turned a brand new Riffe shaft into a right angle. The very first Barra I speared with the new replacment spear did the same thing haha. My Rob Allen shafts seem to put up with the Barra a bit better, my shot placement is probably better these days as well.
Don’t do the pinstripe bro. Love the channel too 👌🏻🤙🏻
Awesome thanks for watching mate 🍻
Boat is looking great Kurt! I reckon no stripe.
Thanks mate, copy on the no pin stripe. I’m definitely leaning that way.
Unreal job on the boat mate looks bloody brilliant I reckon go the pin stripes it’s an old school Haines makes them stand out 🤙🏼either way it’s gonna look good 👍
Thanks for you opinion mate. Keep it original you recon, I’m pretty big on that as well hmmm
@@ExhaleAdventures have a beer or three to think it over 😂
Has definitely been plenty of those decisions haha.
Love the channel mate! I’m with you on keeping it sleek, it’s a no to the pin stripe for me. Unless your going for the fully traditional look.
That’s what I’m stuck on, the whole keeping it original thing hahaha.
@@ExhaleAdventures yeah that’s fair enough too, with how you’ve rebuilt it you’d be able to keep it all original with the finish which would also look pretty mint!
So many decisions haha.
@@ExhaleAdventures haha yeah good problem to have though!
No pinstripe mate 👍
There has been an overwhelming response to this question haha. I recon 90+% have said no to the pinstripe 👌🏻
Love the progress, on the Haines, question as I’m new to spearing, what happens when you shoot a gut shot? That trout was close?
Gut shot is definitely not the best shot haha. Good chance of loosing the fish as there is bugger all meat there to hold that spear. See in the vid I kind of chased the fish down and grabbed it, rather then pull it towards me. With any poor placed shot you sort of need to keep some pressure on the fish but not to much, it can be a fine line.
great vid man i went out lsat weekend and the water was soo cold i only got a 2m shark skin wet suit for the summer but the trout were quiet probably from the cold water and the neap tides. i have a haines my self and the blue pinstripe fills the emptiness of the boat but i like the clean look it has. also what is your tip for getting the yellow ocean stain off from the bottom of the boat. cheers man have a good one and keep on making great vids man
Shame the fish were quiet mate. You need to be comfortable in the water when your diving and a good wetsuit plays a HUGE part in that! RE - Yellowing hull, do a search on some of the Haines FB pages mate, I know guys have had good results with some cleaning products, depending on the condition of the hull you could potentially wet sand it as well. But if you do a search like I said you should get a few options to help you out 👌🏻
Cracking videos , no for the pin stripes
Thanks for you input mate 👌🏻
@@ExhaleAdventures my old boy dun up a 773 in white with no pin stripe and it looks nice
I’ve see a few without that look mint. Once I’ve chucked the windows etc back in and the canopy etc I’ll get a better idea. Thanks mate
Sweet vid mate! Just curious , random question but do you mind sharing what computer you do your videos on? I’ve been asking a few guys just trying to get some feedback to help purchase one myself
Hey Mate, I use a MacBook Pro. It has been a great laptop, I haven’t had a single issue with it. I still just use iMovie to edit videos though and the only reason is my Mac is getting older now (2016)and it can’t run the latest Premier Pro and Davinci Resolse. Well it can run the programs and I can edit a full video, but if I do any colour grading or any funky stuff it really struggles.
@@ExhaleAdventures ah cool man. I’ve just ordered the new m2 air 16gb ram 256 ssd and will opt to use the external drives for storage. Hopefully do the trick! Keep up the sick content
I think it might look a bit bland without something to break it up. Pin stripe I think.
Looks great!!
Thanks for your input mate. I’m still torn haha
@@ExhaleAdventures yeah but if you remain undecided then it'll be longer before you use it. Suppose with the crap weather it doesn't matter. Saturday was awesome, heading up to Lucinda soon I reckon so I can hit the reef.
I was a little Jealous about Saturday. I’m yet to dive Lucinda, not far to the reef from up there 👌🏻
@@ExhaleAdventures well next time we head out come with us. We could do with some spearfishing education. Both my son and I are reasonable boaties now.
No to the pin stripe ive watched you through the whole haines rebuild that looks mint, are you going with a windscreen or are you going to a blank screen,
That boat looks amazing great finish.
Thanks heaps for watching for so long mate. The original windscreen is going back in but I’ll be etchpriming and painting it in epoxy. I was going to possibly build a glass windscreen with glass/Perspex inserts in the future as well. Also black but in Gelcoat.
@ExhaleAdventures oh yeah its gonna look awesome what eva you do to it.
Looked chilly in the morning. What thickness wetsuits do you use?
That was a 3.5mm opencell, was perfect in the water 👌🏻
I'd say no to the pin stripping. Looks nice and clean without it
Thanks for the comment mate. I think the general consensus is a no to the pinstripe 👌🏻
Boat looks sweet! What u doing for a boarding ladder, she’s got pretty high side?
Thanks mate. Part of the aluminium work getting done is a couple of boarding platforms/duckboards for the stern. One on each side of the motor.
@@ExhaleAdventures nice! Be a awesome rig when u get it on the water
Leave the pin stripe, I'm about to get rid of mine! looks better clean
Thanks mate for the comment mate. I’m definitely leaning that way 🍻
you should not put on the pink slip, also what gear do you use cause im trying to save up for a good spear gun
Roballen Tunas/sparids. My main gun is 1200 long, I’ve also got a 900 (gun I shot the Barra with) and a 1400. All very similar set ups, open muzzle, 7.5mm spears, double 16mm rubbers.
It’s a no from me. Are the gunnel rubbers black or white?
I’ve got white end caps and a white with a black insert. I was going to go full black but I think the white will wear better in the weather.
No to the pinstripe. It’s built bigger and better, so you don’t need to follow the old way exactly. The old school stickers give the nod to its past.
Thanks for your opinion mate. I'm kind of thinking along the same lines 🍻
@@ExhaleAdventures it’s been awesome to watch the build. Your attention to detail is fantastic.
Plus the spearing is kick ass too! 😂
Clean boat is a mean boat I’d keep it clean and simple mate
Thanks for watching the whole vid haha. Cheers mate
No pin stripe mate..
I wild Geoff Opie appears! Thanks for the comment mate, where’s the first trip going to be?
To the wreck... or a pinicle would be great
Perfect 👌🏻
Yep thats a bull alright
Yeah I though so, only a little fella but to curious for me haha.
