the allies did, it wasnt the soviets nor america, but the allies. while it's true the soviets fought fiercely and faced the majority of the german forces, they simply wouldn't have been able to do so without america and britan. the same however could be said of them, without the soviets, any attempt at landing on europe would result in disaster. in the end, the coordination and symbiosis between the allied powers was probably the main factor in their victory over the axis.
Fun fact: More Dutch soldiers died in the SS than defending their own country. Don't let the flag waving crowds fool you - The Netherlands has a murky WWII history.
Google NIOD: "It is estimated that between 22,000 and 25,000 Dutchmen served in the formations of the Waffen-SS, of which between 4,000 and 6,000 were killed, killed or missing". Your comparison with the numbers defending The Netherlands are out of context. Either you mention how many Dutch men defended The Netherlands before it capitulated or mention how many were in the resistance and fighting in the Navy or elsewhere abroad thereafter. oorlogsbronnen.nl/ "300,000 Dutch soldiers must prevent a German invasion." NLVeterareneninstuut.nl: "In the years 1939-1945, more than 380,000 Dutch military personnel and many thousands of militarized civilians served the Kingdom." Nationaalarchief.nl: "Towards the end of the war the number of resistance fighters had increased to 45.000". So you simply are talking rubbish. No "fun fact" at all, but wild fantasy or stupid hear-say. Yes, I get very cross about such comments.
I know that complaining about the Netherlands is a favourite pasttime for some uber-nationalistic Poles. You are frustrated. Also your claim is incorrect.

Yes god bless the British
my oma passed last year, she was very young when the nazis took over the netherlands. at her funeral they talked about a photo of her at the dutch liberation parties. i dont remember much but i remember apparantely there was a drunk chicken or something lol. she didnt really talk about those days much which i cannot blame her, she wouldnt have had the best memory and wouldnt want to remember such a terrible part of the history of the country she is from. the last time i think i saw her was before lockdown, i remember her having a bunch of papers on the history of her then house in england, it apparantely used to sell guns or something. always had interesting stories and i remember often wondering what it was like to grow up in nazi occupied countries like germany, poland or the netherlands.
my oma in den Haag was German/polish she had to hide away during the war, the Gestapo took my father who was 15 at the time, he escaped and ran away & joined the army, lied about his age! I remember oma saying they loved off potato peelings and bulbs, she wore straw in her clogs to keep warm, times were tough back then!
Pracht herinnering. Alleen jammer dat die Oorlogsplayboy en charlatan Bernard met zijn ziekmakende smile in beeld kwam.
Were they really so young
50 000 Nedelanders was in SS commando!
And way more were not. There will always be some traitors. They can be dealt with. The mojority did not like the Nazis.
Amsterdammers sold the Jews out in seconds the king made an apology last year in his speech
Impressive footage of the NL liberation after nearly 5 years of Nazi occupation & terror.
Mooi footage
No wonder they had a baby boom
La fame,la sofferenza, la paura...e'finito tutto !!! Si volta pagina...liberi tutti
America!!! Freedom!!!!
Sorry, but 80% of the Dutch liberators were Canadian, not American :-)
@@Rick88888888 Yes this is true.
@@Rick88888888 I’m American and that makes me so proud, just like the Brits in Belgium, we really came together to do the unimaginable🇨🇦🇺🇸🇬🇧
@@Rick88888888 Regardless without US backing there would be no liberation of the Netherlands by western powers

En toen kwamen de bange konijnen van Oranje ook weer naar Nederland toe.
But now, for Dutches Germans are the nearest ve most favourite nation.
Not really, Most favo in Europe are the Brits for the Dutch.

I think the Netherlands is probably the favourite country of most British people too. I know it's mine. The Netherlands and Dutch people are very similar to Britain and British people.
PB buiten beschouwing gelaten. Prima!
The world was never liberated, the enemy won!
kind of yeah, look for operation Paperclip.
So what does the Germans won after 45?
@@erikvermeer2933 Check out Operation Paperclip, A LOT of the Nazi's were pardonned and they were refuged in USA, C.I.A was founded by them, NASA was founded by them, etc.
@@erikvermeer2933 and answer this to me, are we really free in this world? And how come USA can do what ever they feel like and no one does anything, but when Russia invades a country oooee everyone loses it.
Well D P, I am sorry that you were not "liberated" but thank to some other countries - you can get your version of freedom within some "friendly people's countries" such as North Korea, China, Venezuela, ... (if they will accept you that is), enjoy! Ciao, L
we all lost, see the shit happening now.
@W Thank god, let us hope it stays defeated.

So quit crying on a commentary board and go do something about it. Dd ummy
Not a dent or scratch on any of those vehicles. It's sad but it's true USSR did defeat Nazi Germany.
the allies did, it wasnt the soviets nor america, but the allies. while it's true the soviets fought fiercely and faced the majority of the german forces, they simply wouldn't have been able to do so without america and britan. the same however could be said of them, without the soviets, any attempt at landing on europe would result in disaster.
in the end, the coordination and symbiosis between the allied powers was probably the main factor in their victory over the axis.
why is it sad that one of the allies defeated nazi germany?
Both Zhukov and Khrushchev said that the USSR could not have won without the Americans
You dont have a clue..
How do you know, since you were not there?
Fun fact: More Dutch soldiers died in the SS than defending their own country. Don't let the flag waving crowds fool you - The Netherlands has a murky WWII history.
Google NIOD: "It is estimated that between 22,000 and 25,000 Dutchmen served in the formations of the Waffen-SS, of which between 4,000 and 6,000 were killed, killed or missing".
Your comparison with the numbers defending The Netherlands are out of context. Either you mention how many Dutch men defended The Netherlands before it capitulated or mention how many were in the resistance and fighting in the Navy or elsewhere abroad thereafter.
oorlogsbronnen.nl/ "300,000 Dutch soldiers must prevent a German invasion."
NLVeterareneninstuut.nl: "In the years 1939-1945, more than 380,000 Dutch military personnel and many thousands of militarized civilians served the Kingdom." Nationaalarchief.nl: "Towards the end of the war the number of resistance fighters had increased to 45.000".

It's now "Hollandistan", along with Britainistan, Belgiestan, Franceistan, Swedenistan (the WORST), etc, etc, so it was all IN VAIN.
