My first Sifu held me back doing the same Siu Nim Tao for years which was boring I was paying Him to learn Practical Wing Chun that I can actually use for Self Defense, so I left with Classical Ving Tsun school and found a better Wing Chun Teacher that didn't do things slow and boring at all which was better. And I'm now a Wing Chun Master at 40 years old
Won't happen in Wong Sheung Leung lineage either, Don't look at China mainland, although it is from there, for now, it has a relatively bad environment for martial artists, especially for traditional arts, People there discrediting their own culture, lots of haters that don't believe and think all those fake things are real so they discredit without even understand it.
