Something I've noticed is how much more refined the 92X feels when compared to my FS96 Vertec. The front and rear checkering on the grips make a big difference and it being lighter makes it that much more enjoyable as well.

Thank you for sharing your video. My husband and I have numerous Beretta pistols. I usually CCW one while outdoors river fishing. The classic design along with the excellent engineering.
Beretta is an extremely reliable pistol. We've never experienced any relaibity or quality issues.
    God bless 🙏

Why home defense only? It carries very nicely with a quality IWB holster. It is indeed a carry gun for some and is mentioned as such.

Nothing wrong with getting what you're comfortable with, especially if you're trained on/with it.
    I'm retired 28 years Army.
I started by carrying the 1911 and ended carrying the M9 Beretta.
Gun stores ask why I gravitate to firearms with external safeties and hammers.
Because several thousands of your tax dollars trained me on them and I'm getting to old and unwilling to retrain myself on something different.
I've fired expert on both platforms and been a basic and advanced marksmanship instructor for both.
#1 thing I never liked about the M9 was the safety.
It works in the opposite directbof the 1911 and never felt right even after getting muscle memory as a natural reflex going.
    I retired i carry a 1911.
Then the Beretta 92 Performance, Beretta 92 Xi, and the Beretta 80X Cheetah all came out.
The safety works the same as it does on the 1911 but with a higher magazine capacity.
Now the Xi is a single action only like the 1911. I do not own this one.
As far as the others starting out in double action, honestly I don't even notice it any more.
As I unfortunately get older I also acquired some old man issues and currently the 380 is the best fit for me.
But I still get out the .45 1911 for old time sake and give some targets hell.
But you should train with what you carry, and if you have a choice you should carry what you're comfortable with, and everyone eise just chew on crap.

I keep mine as my primary home defense. It’s crazy accurate and I’ve only ever had 1 malfunction since I bought it in 2019.

Overall I'm pleased with my 92x. It's a great gun for the money. Double action trigger pull was not as smooth as I'd like so it's currently at Langdon Tactical getting an upgrade. Can't wait to get it back!

Why is decocking on an empty chamber is bad? Never heard that one before and I’ve carried, shot, and decocked 92s for three decades.

@@peterrussell798 some think that this procedure (on an empty chamber) causes unnecessary ware on the components… you are after all containing a micro explosion which forces the slide back and forth. I just say thanks for watching. If you put videos on YT you can’t let comments get to you but YT does track engagements.

When mine is on safe the trigger still activates the hammer. It’s an F series so it’s NOT decocker only but all the videos I see the trigger is useless like this when on safe. mine brings the hammer back and forward but because the firing pin is blocked it obviously doesn’t fire

So no idea why my trigger activates the hammer while on safe? Every Beretta video I have seen, when the safety is on the trigger does nothing. Mine brings still brings the hammer back and forward but because the firing pin is blocked obviously nothing happens.

I did 8 years in the service and never liked the 9mm. Come to find out, it wasn’t the cartridge - I didn’t like the M9.
For 9mm, it’s hard to beat a Glock. And I now prefer 9mm.

Thanks for the comment. Maybe splitting hairs a bit but the the Beretta you reference is the M9 or M92. The new series 92X included has some significant upgrades especially in the trigger area. But I stand by my “underrated” because in the world of less expensive striker fired polymer pistols you don’t hear a lot about these pistols unless you are specifically looking for them. These sort of SA/DA all metal frames tend to be an afterthought. Let me know what you think. Thanks again, and if you haven’t please like subscribe and share.
