Thanks so much for releasing an updated tutorial! Quick question, I noticed that I get fairly low frames in UE5 sometimes, such as when I tried the Medieval village bit at the end of the previous tutorial despite having a 3080ti and overall a very recent and up-to-date system. Are there any settings in UE5 that I can adjust to make using the program a bit smoother?
Can we all just take a second to commemorate this man as he made not one, but TWO FREE unreal engine 5 in depth tutorials. This is knowledge that should be paid for but is given to us for free because a legend wanted to help those who wanted to learn. Thank you Unreal Sensei!
It's truly incredible. It's pretty much the best tutorial out there, better than any paid one or even the ones from Epic Games. Zac just explains it way better and clearly.
More like three, if you count also the one for Blender artists. Plus, tons of other in-depth tutorials for specific topics in his channel. His Masterclass is also fantastic, definitely an amazing investment!
Honestly, ngl, it absolutly ticks me off when people pay-wall knowlage. Imo, everyone has the right to learn as long as they are willing and know where to get it. I really respect people like this creator who don't pay-wall videos or "classes" like this and not only do they not pay-wall it, they are very informative, detailed, and well struictured. I have seen a few who will cut their work a bit and to a glossed over free version of their classes and it is just so cheep. Hats off to this creator for balancing making a living and being a supportive member of the UE community.
For anyone that finds themselves seeing an empty desert at 3:50 instead of the table and the chairs: Go to File > Open Level... Now (assuming you had correctly ticked 'Include Starter Content' at the Project Creation screen), in the 'Open Level' Dialog, navigate to 'All/Content/StarterContent/Maps' and select 'Minimal_Default'.
FOUND THE SOLUTION TO MY ISSUE IN 2:06:37 For those who don't see automatically the layers that Unreal Sensei has when applying the Material to the Landscape, on the upper menu of Landscapes, to the right, there is a button that, when hovered, says "Create Layers from assigned materials", click on it and UE will create them. I've been stuck in this point for like half an hour in UE5.5.1, so hopefully you won't! Btw, this tutorial is amazing
If you had no changes to your lighting at 1:48:00 after baking, you might still have Lumen enabled in your project settings. Go to Edit > Project Settings > Global Illumination and turn off Lumen. If it’s still not baking properly, static lighting may not be enabled. Go to Edit > Project Settings > Engine > Rendering > Misc Lighting and check Allow Static Lighting.
Thanks , my room was still dark and after doing this ^ and pressing build all levels. my room is now lit with lights baked :) i appreciate your comment
@@swoodc Not true actually. I am in Bachelor of Science in Interactive Entertainment and Multimedia Computing Major in Game Development, and I will say that Unreal Sensei is way ahead of most of my professors teaching us students.
@@kuuly3334 Is it a good university? I study Architecture and my teachers teach me better than any content I find on youtube. But sometimes they tell us to research examples ourselves, instead of teaching. That annoys me.
Lol really does feel like that. Got to admit, now I've had a chance to have a proper look round our new home I feel like I should've jumped ship ages ago. Thanks for the nudge Unity!

I'm into about 1.5 hours as an absolute beginner with Unreal Engine. I would like to say that this is one of the best tutorials I have seen, not just on using Unreal Engine, but any product. Well done and thank you.
To anyone just starting, they've changed the starting level for blank projects to a sort of desert-ish landscape. To find the level with the chairs and table, go to File > Open Level > Minimal_Default.
This is some of the most polished and comprehensive education for a software I've ever watched. The way he does stuff incorrectly and then tells you how to get out of it - subtle but it's a massive reason why this video works so well. Great job.
Guys, i am in the middle of rhe tutorial and this is the first time that i am using youtube for learning a software. I know zbrush, substance, blender very well and bought a lot of courses. And i can tell you that this is the best course i have ever seen so far. Not just for unreal engine i am talking. The way you explain everything in order and giving only necessary informatinos are amazing.
As an 18 year old who has played console all his life and never touched a pc my family recently got a gaming laptop and I was stoked. I love creating things and making games and stories. Your videos are so helpful in getting me started with understanding how UE5 works and I want to say thank you. Hopefully you can inspire more people like you did me. 😎👍🤘
Hey thanks homie when I clicked on this video, and see 5 hour video had me bit scared. Though reading your comment and having a similar story at 20 is giving me motivation!
I am a retired backed programmer, over 45 years C/C++ in UNIX/Linx. I have decided to learn VR. First was Unity, now Unreal. Wow, if I was still working I would send you a thank you gift. This video is amazing. When I finish, I will be looking for more of yours videos. THANK YOU!

Anyone using 5.5 and you are at or around 3:30:00, when you drag the M_Landscape_Inst to the "Landscape Material" slot, you will see black but not any target layers. I am new to UE, and starting with 5.5 and 5.5 won't show the layers automatically like in the video. You need to click on "Create Layers From Assigned Materials" icon that is located on the "Layers" sub-section of the "Targe Layers" section. It's the icon on the far right. This will generate the layers.
Really blows my mind that you give all this for FREE! This would be priced $$$ too much in a school or an institute. But this guy ....FREE EDUCATION! Also... no ads, no distraction, no unnecessary talks, calmly explaining everything in an easy to understand manner. I am here since your first video...and really thankful for providing all this. @@dylanbruhhh4208 Well yeah, but the product ultimately comes to us for free, so don't really care if the guy is getting paid or not, the fact that he gives us this tutorial for no cost is very nice.
This is by far one of the best tutorials I've ever used. Clear, good pace, and engaging. No steps are skipped or skimmed over. Thank you for this in depth, professional learning material. Please make more!
This is a great tutorial! I started watching your first one, then noticed this one. Honestly my man, the effort you're putting into this goes well above and beyond. You explain everything perfectly; to the point, and concise. Its not just the best UE5 tutorial I've seen, its the best tutorial. Great work, and thanks! I used to be a mechanic, but I lost my arm in a motorcycle accident. Since I can't do my job anymore, I figured I'd try making a video game. I picked up UE5 last week, and went through a few tutorials, and got nowhere.. except how to light a scene. I'm 3hrs into your vid, and I've created an open world, textured the landscape, built custom buildings, textured those, and brought in a playable character... until I found this video, I thought I'd never figure this out. Thanks so much. 👍

You can't compete vs people who have done this all their lives... you just can't ... especially if you are low IQ or average and if you are already 20 or 30 ... just face reality you are poor a loser and you will stay like that for the rest of your life... time to wake up... real life is not like your MAGICAL THINKING in your head.
For anyone following along in 5.4 that can't find the Bloom/Exposure settings under Global Process Volume at 32:20: The Global Process Volume doesn't appear to be in 5.4, instead it is PostProcess Volume. To get the Exposure settings menu press the +Add button at the top when you select PostProcessVolume, and then select "Post Process" which is under Rendering. That seems to be the same menu that he's using in the tutorial.
Thanks for taking the time to write this comment! To add to this, to get the settings he adjusted to appear in the details pane, I had to close out the details tab that Unreal had open (clicking the 'x' of that particular tab) and then re-open the details pane by going to Window>Details>Details 1
I managed to find it hiding in the Lighting folder as 'PostProcessVolume'. And the gadget is hiding underneath the floor of the level, if you've been following along you will need to press G to turn them back on.
I'm 27 and I've been tiptoeing around my dream of making a game for years because of how much work in so many areas it will require to make it to my standards, but with UE5 and all the free resources for asset creation, music creation, and this video right here, right now I have never felt more empowered to make my dream a reality. Thanks Sensei!
I have to say, this is probably the best tutorial I've ever followed. The way you concisely explain relatively complex issues whilst communicating likely issues as you progress is outstanding. Thank you so much for this.
I have been teaching myself unreal over the last year. while this video might have some stuff ive already learned, i cant emphasize enough what a complete compendium of basic knowledge this truly is. I ended up watching all the way through just because of how thorough and well expressed all of the topics are in here. Honestly the Lighting and Nanite sections really helped me to see and understand these subjects way better than i did before. THANK YOU THANK YOU for the time you took to make this. You truly are the unreal sensei! I have this bookmarked and i know i will end up going back to this many times, as well as ive already been sharing it to others!
This video alone has helped me more than all the learning videos provided by Epic put together. I had started to learn UE5 from a couple sources including Epic's own learning page, after only a short time of watching this, I decided to go back and learn the fundamentals the way you laid them out. It has helped me grasp Unreal so much better and in record time, weeks worth of tutorial videos covered in a single 5 hour video and in a way that actually stuck with me. Starting the castle level section as of writing this, but if all your classes are of this quality, can almost guarantee I'll be investing in that Masterclass. Such a legend, cannot thank you enough!
If your a beginner, or advanced Unreal Engine user, watching this 5 hour tutorial will be so helpful! I've been studying game art & 3D Animation for over 3 years now and I'm still learning new things watching this! Definitely worth the watch!
1:28:54 For those who, like me, build and the lights didnt change anything. After some considerable amount of time, I found out that in the Project Settings (on the right upper corner) you need to enable "Allow Static Light" if, for some unholy reason, it was disenabled 😤
Wow. My experience with UED goes all the way back to the beginning, literally, and I have recently returned to relearn UED with 5. My hat goes off to you, man. This is by far one of the best tutorials I have ever encountered. EXTREMELY thought out, very coherent, very understandable. Pacing is fantastic. Very well done, sincerely. This one is definitely going in the bookmarks
You are one of the best teachers on RUclips, while most tutorials are mostly disorganized and have lots of rambling, this had excellent pacing, organization, and a high production quality. Thank you for sharing this course for free! This video will be invaluable to everyone aspiring to make 3D video games.
I personally struggle to sit through his videos as even tho he’s very clear, he’s very boring to me. However he does get his points through and does a good job. Just not my style of teaching ig
Love how patient you are with your audience. There's a lot of teachers on RUclips who don't seem to care about the student actually learning what they're trying to teach by going way too fast. This is a long video yes, but it explains everything in good detail, which is great for someone like me with learning disabilities. Thanks for going slow man.
Heads up for anyone working on this in later versions (I'm on 5.5.1). When you get to the lighting section around 1:28:28 it won't build the lighting until you go to Project Settings, Engine - Rendering, and make sure that "Allow Static Lighting" is checked. Mine was off on a fresh install.
Mine still is not working with that. Anyone else? I have tried what I could find in the comment section. Even when I bring a point light onto a map it has no light.
As a student of low-level graphics programming, I must salute you! Not only do you explain how to use unreal, but you are also on point with explanations on global illumination and texture compression. I found this video highly educational!
I just found this channel, and 1:24 in, I was inspired to get to the comments to commend you! I really appreciate your professionalism. I've never encountered such an ambitious, generous, and clearly well though-out tutorial in all the many years I've been on browsing RUclips. I'm praying for your success in whatever you are pursuing!
Only wanted to watch for a few mins but got sucked in to how thorough this tutorial is and found myself watching over half an hour. Will be coming back to this. Thank you!
I just spent two months following a £120+ course and this free video tought me more in 5 hours that that course did in 150 hours. Thank you for all that you do.
i am currently 1 hour in to this video, with a whole load of pausing and rewinding, but i have to say im very impressed in how you set this out. ive watched so many videos lately and they didnt always explain things very well for actual beginners which made me frustrated and confused. this video is very well explained and easy to follow, even for a total newbie like me. thank you so much for all the time and effort you put in. heres to the next 4 hours. EDIT: followed along with lots of pausing and rewinding but this was so well done, thank you so much, i now have my very first world created. now to start from scratch and make my own unique world.
I've only been trying UE5 for 3 days in my freetime and using this video as a guide and I already feel comfortable with the nodes for material building. I never imagined that I could be a game dev before and yet now I am inspired
bro, youre teaching skills are incredible, youre so detailed and well spoken, and you cover every single point, like a few times during the course i was following along, then something in my settings or what not didnt match yours so i paused to try and figure it out with no luck, then i press play and see you literally cover it in a "what if" like 5 seconds later. thank you for this, it was really useful, will definately check out your masterclass
Small hint for others encountering the same issue as me. At the Lumen chapter if you see no changes even after enabling infinite extent and lumen in the PostProcessVolume, it is because of the Engine Scalability Settings, mainly the global illumination option being set to medium or lower. You need this set to high in order to actually see lumen activated.
@@anhtuan-zn6gq you go to setting tab (with below the X button on the top right corner) chose Engine Scalability Setting tab and set it to at least high quality
@@anhtuan-zn6gq I'm exactly at lumen right now and been stuck for about an hour...can't thank you enough for the tip .... While this is an amazing course in order to make it even better the creator should look into missed details like these in future courses so ppl don't get stuck....otherwise great tutorial!
I come from Premiere and After Effects. This was my first introduction into 3D. I followed the whole thing, and I have to say you are one of the best teachers! Straight to the point and very concise! Thank you!
Hope this helps someone combing through 4700 comments. If you can't bake the lighting: You need to enable the following option (this will require a restart): Project Settings->Engine->Rendering->Allow Static Lighting.

This tutorial was great! I followed all of it and I also streamed on Twitch while I was doing it. It took me around 10 hours to finish, since I was stopping the video, try stuffs on my own, play the env also not finished, showing to my wife, friends and viewers. Huge kudos. I'm hopeful that there are more resources like this one that I can delve into once I've completed this tutorial.
💯🎉 This is by far the most immediately useful series of introductory tutorials on Unreal I have looked at, including paid: engaging, logically progressive, avoids too much detail and too many generalities, downloadable props for illustration and interaction. Zach's passion for the subject is infectious, and his clear teaching style makes UE5 accessible to a much wider audience. Thank you UnrealSensei❕
This is an insanely useful video for beginners! As the author predicted - there have been changes over the year and now you can use Nanite on trees and they fixed the blur bugs with wind movement) THANK YOU!
I'm currently studying 3D Animation and VFX at university in New Zealand and thought I would take a look into UE5 during the break. I was 15 min into your last video when I saw this one pop up. I'm (slowly) working my way through but wanted to say thanks for providing this content. Its well structured + concise and moves at a pace that is easy to follow. Great job, much appreciated.

@@jonathanwennstromm1578 bro even though everything is different depending on people but what you say is so much bullshit lmao, and you are not the first I see making this kind of statement. You might had a bad expereince at Uni but it's certainly mostly on you. I just finished my first year in a 3D animation School, the amount I learned this year is huge as fuck, because of the knowledge of the teacher but also because i'm now allowed to only do 3D and VFX and not work 8H or 9h a day on a regular job like I did for many years. because you can't focus enough on 3d if you work on the side (or you are rich and don't need to work). I spent a year working 8/9hours only on cinema and 3D! I don't see the problem here lol. So seeing this kind of comment always makes me laugh. sorry this is so long lol but i needed to say this, cheers!

Incredible timing. I had just started watching the first 10 minutes of your earlier version of this and kept noticing that the UE5 default view has changed a lot since you made it a year ago. In that video, you mentioned that you will post links in the description when you make a newer version of it. Don't forget to update that description :) I just happened to click on your YT channel and found that you released this new video just 1 day ago! I am grateful for this tutorial, and I'm incredibly excited to finally start making a few little learning projects in UE5 as I slowly build my experience towards being able to create a small, simple, and fun game. Thank you very very much for this detailed tutorial. In 5.1, new blank game projects don't seem to start you in the Minimal_Default map anymore, though it's still there under StarterContent\Maps. (Looks a bit different though)

@@the.author.0813 Ctrl+Space You can find it in the explorer thingy. He shows it in the tutorial I think. I gave up after ten minutes... or well, my computer did. I need a new GPU.
All I can say is wow. I have always wanted to get into game design and what I have researched about coding just seemed so daunting that I gave up. I have been playing more and more games that have been made with Unreal Engine so I looked in to it. Aside from the shock of how big projects can be (definitely need to invest in an external drive), the sheer feeling of being overwhelmed when firing it up the first time. I sat looking at the menus and toolbars without absolutely no clue where to even begin. I looked up some other tutorials but as a complete beginner with no knowledge, they were not as clear in the explanations. I applaud you for making this tutorial and while it took me 3 days to finish it, it has given me hope that I can take what I have in my imagination and bring it to light. I was afraid of having to create everything from scratch. 3D modeling is fine but texturing, coding, debugging, all of that can be frightening. While I am seeing this 2 years later, I so excited to begin! Even if I am the only one who will ever play what I make, just the knowledge that I did it is enough for me. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise. You made something incredibly complex so much easier to understand. Upon finishing the tutorial, you earned a life-long subscriber!
Just a tip for the future that I'd greatly appreciate; Announce the neccessary download earlier, as some people like me still have shitty internet, even living in a western country. So far I enjoy the tutorial a lot! Gonna take a break for the download, but I am sure I'll continue to learn a lot through you! By telling us earlier about the download, it could download in the background while doing the first hour.
This is BY FAR the best tutorial out there when it comes to explanation, detail, depth of information and usefulness! Such a clear way of explaining too. Thanks a lot!
Man, you're the best at explaining. For those of us who speak Spanish, English tutorials can sometimes be a bit tiring. You speak clearly, concisely, and at just the right pace. You did a great job with this tutorial. Your knowledge and effort really show. Thank you so much, bro...
This has been so helpful! I recently started getting into unreal and most tutorials get complicated so fast for a true beginner. I really needed this to match my level and get all the basics in and now understand all of it so much better! Thanks a bunch!
Well, this was, by far, the best tutorial I have ever used. Period. I am a psychology professor, and teaching is kinda my thing. I am an avid gamer and fiction writer and have always wanted to learn unreal because I want to create my own games and cinematics. Sure, I am years away from that (I mean, I can't figure out how to toggle the landscape flatten to work with a click instead of just auto-flattening everything. Weird glitch, I think), but anyway, I have been tinkering while following other creators to learn what I can. This video taught me more in a few days than I have learned in over two years. I am 100% doing the masterclass when I get a break from class. From here on out, if you post it. I'm doing it. I finally feel like I might actually learn to do this stuff. Thank you!
Holy crap this was a dense video! I feel like each minute was a weeks worth of information! Thank you so much for taking the time to make this! To anyone like me who has ZERO experience, I recommend pausing OFTEN and practicing each concept and messing around with it. This will help you remember and better understand each concept.
Totally agree, the pacing is on point but worth taking the extra time to practice and expand on the lessons provided. Fully grasping these fundamentals will no doubt save countless hours down the road.
@@RobBossOne disagree that the pacing is "on point" -- if it were, it wouldn't require SO much stopping, going back, starting again. There are also parts where he rushes through details (2:17:15 for example), which again requires stopping, going back, starting again, just to try to follow. These things are so familiar to instructors that they forget that students who are brand new need more time to follow what's going on on the video and then find it in their own UE on their own computer screen.
What a fantastic tutorial. Best place to start for learning UE, full stop. What I'd pay $500 for a two-week course has been condensed into a few days work for absolutely free. I especially appreciate the repetition of shortcuts over the duration of the video. I've started habitually pressing Ctrl+Space in other programs.
I bought the Masterclass by you. Tutorials are super east to understand and the members discord is always a blast to go through. I have a problem with procrastination, I spent almost 3 hours wandering the Australian outback world before I moved on. Ue5 is amazing xD
I am 10 years experienced Unity Game Developer. I have worked on tens of different projects. Published my own Mobile games, Steam games, VR game and even multiplayer co-op game. But I have to admit that if you are not very very skilled on Unity, it is difficult to make the game reach the same quality with Unreal. Before getting old, it is wise to learn Unreal. I passed first one hour very fast because most of the things are same. Let's find my old C++ programming books from University years :D
Absolutely loving this tutorial and SUPER GRATEFUL for it. I just want to share my experience as someone who leans more towards being a Kinesthetic Learner intertwined into a Visual Learner. While I understand all of the beginner parts of this video are teach fundamentals into the application of the Castle Building, and there are constant drills to get hands on right away. Where I feel the overall tutorial could have supported my learning strategy would've been starting at the End and building from there. IE: We jump right into building the castle world, and as we move forward with each piece we then look at the fundamental associated with what we are learning. Such as, "We are going to work on building this wall first. So let's look at how to make a wall, then talk about objects in general in Unreal 5, then we will texture the wall, and look at the fundamentals so you understand how this application process works with EVERY material in the Engine outside of specific cases." This is just my perspective as someone who HAS NEVER TOUCHED A SINGLE program like this. There is a certain level of knowledge in the front end of the video that seems to be more from a place of Wisdom, and it feels slightly disconnected from someone who has never seen the top of any of the mountains to look down and understand the journey. I am diligently putting my nose down and just focusing on the climb knowing it will make sense later, however, I feel deconstructing from the end and teaching from the end to the beginning would've made more sense to someone like me who has 0 fundamentals at all and 0 reference for any of this. I feel I would've felt far more accomplished seeing the master project come together in association to the related goal as opposed to theoretical things such as building chairs/tables/material balls that I have to do loose association with. Thank you again, and my castle looks spectacular! I can't wait to share this work with others and to help others with their film projects by providing this type of work for them to elevate their own work.
Hands down, the best UE5 tutorial I've found! As a complete beginner, I couldn't have asked for more. I'm so glad you went over and actually explained things that you were clicking on. Not to mention, this was all COMPLETELY FREE! Which means I didn't have to sift through garbage "courses" on sites like Udemy and Skillshare just to gamble my money away on whether or not I will get a good instructor. Thank you so much Unreal Sensei!
I'm one hour in and this is great. Not only do you go over the tools and navigation but also give some advice on why certain things work like they do and how we can use them. Most tutorials just go over the controls and that it but this video goes one step further. Also the fact the previous tutorial started with a reminder to check if any new tutorial had been made was a great help in me finding this one. Can't wait to make my first proper environment. Mine just crashed at: 1:49:42

There arent words to describe how thankful i am for your effort to share this information. I cant wait to see all the passion projects that will start from your instruction.
OMG!!! This tutorial couldn't have come at a better time. I finally built my dream 3D animation PC last week after months of saving money for it, and I had just started watching the other 4-hour full UE5 course you had published. I was already learning so much from it, and now I get a notification about this new one in my email (I rang the bell :-)). I can imagine it's packed with even more cool tips and tricks to help complete beginners like me get familiar with UE5 super fast. Thanks a millie, Zach. Thanks for your unsolicited two cents, @@tanelviil9149. Contrary to all your wild assumptions, many of us just like tinkering with technology because it's fun and we're curious, not because we want to get rich as you put it. Fantastic series that helped me get into UE5 very quickly. I work in computational design and BIM in the architecture industry, but have become curious about gamification and immersive walkthrough recently, so this series had so much for me to learn the fundamentals. I particularly appreciate that you covered level and actor blueprints and introduced widgets. I really appreciate that you offered this resource in public domain, and will look into your course package once I get my hands on a better laptop - those trees were pushing my MSI rig to its limits I think. Keep up the great work, Sensei!

For anyone that finds themselves seeing an empty desert at 3:50 instead of the table and the chairs:
Go to File > Open Level...

For anyone following along in 5.4 that can't find the Bloom/Exposure settings under Global Process Volume at 32:20:
The Global Process Volume doesn't appear to be in 5.4, instead it is PostProcess Volume.

Small hint for others encountering the same issue as me. 1 year on and this is still such a massive help. In between parenting, self teaching programming languages and working full time, watched the entirety of this video over the span of 3 days haha. Getting stuck in with creating a princess oriented castle for my daughter ^.^ Thank you Sensei! New sub and watching out for more of these!
This tutorial was great! I followed all of it and I also streamed on Twitch while I was doing it. It took me around 10 hours to finish, since I was stopping the video, try stuffs on my own, play the env also not finished, showing to my wife, friends and viewers. Huge kudos. You gave me a lot more motivation to actually build my very own game.

The quixel bridge wont work with 5.5. You will have to install Fab UE Plugin. Chances are if you are running latest UE this should come pre installed ifnot then install it manually.
Once that is done Goto your project - Window - Fab & rest you will know how to proceed with.
Unfortunately some of the referred to assets are not in FAB...
Not even finished the tutorial yet, but you are truly awesome for making these tutorials. If I ever make a successful game, I'll make sure to give you a shoutout.

Thanks for the great tutorial, I went from never touching any type of this kind of software to making a full stage in under a week.
UE5 is so dope.
Thank you so, so much! I completed the 5 hours of this course with a big smile on my face. Every single thing I learned felt more and more fascinating. I truly appreciate it, thank you!
I've now dedicated over an hour to this tutorial, and I'm genuinely impressed by how clear, smooth, and easy-to-follow the explanations have been. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that this tutorial is among the best I've encountered. As I progress, I'm curious if there might be additional video tutorials available on their channels specifically covering UE5. I'm hopeful that there are more resources like this one that I can delve into once I've completed this tutorial.
"delve" 🤓🤓🤓⬅ thats you
💯🎉 This is by far the most immediately useful series of introductory tutorials on Unreal I have looked at, including paid: engaging, logically progressive, avoids too much detail and too many generalities, downloadable props for illustration and interaction. Zach's passion for the subject is infectious, and his clear teaching style makes UE5 accessible to a much wider audience. Thank you UnrealSensei❕
This is an insanely useful video for beginners!
As the author predicted - there have been changes over the year and now you can use Nanite on trees and they fixed the blur bugs with wind movement)
THANK YOU!
Right? It's everything Uni isnt haha.
Hlo I am suman from Nepal.
I am also interested to study animation and vfx in New Zealand. Where are you studying. Which uni. Fees and how was the course and education.
I have studied diploma in 3d animation and VFX in Nepal. Any suggestion for me.

@@jonathanwennstromm1578 youre definitely right bro.
I’m almost finished with the mastercourse (and it’s totally worth it) but you can bet I’m taking this beginner course again now that it’s been updated. I need a cool castle for an upcoming video, and the review won’t hurt a bit…
Same here! So excited for this one.
thats my question, should i take the full mastercourse or focus on this 5 hour
@@niccolon8095 I took the 5 hour course and after I finished knew I wanted to learn more so I took the mastercourse. There's no downside to starting with this video, it's free and you'll learn a ton and you'll also know what Zach's teaching style is like.

the fact this tutorial is in 1080p60 HD is awesome. i can see it on the big screen like it's my own! thankxx
I'm confident this comment will represent tens and even hundreds of thousands others who gain a lot of knowledge from your generous efforts in creating this tutorial. Easy, convenient, and free knowledge for a cutting edge video game creation tool. I couldn't ask for more... Until I get stuck in super advanced stuff one day - hopefully, if I don't give up!
Happy video game creation everyone!
I have been using Unity for the past 8 years, but have wanted to try learning Unreal for a while. These videos are so comprehensive and well done, thank you!
In 5.1, new blank game projects don't seem to start you in the Minimal_Default map anymore, though it's still there under StarterContent\Maps.

@@the.author.0813 Ctrl+Space You can find it in the explorer thingy. He shows it in the tutorial I think.
I gave up after ten minutes... or well, my computer did. I need a new GPU.
@@fredrik8685 What GPU do you have?
Just a tip for the future that I'd greatly appreciate;
Announce the neccessary download earlier, as some people like me still have shitty internet, even living in a western country. So far I enjoy the tutorial a lot! Gonna take a break for the download, but I am sure I'll continue to learn a lot through you!
By telling us earlier about the download, it could download in the background while doing the first hour.
Amazing - the most concise and easy to understand tutorial I've ever seen on any topic. You should be proud of yourself for this
This is BY FAR the best tutorial out there when it comes to explanation, detail, depth of information and usefulness!
I just finished your previous UE5 tutorial and loved every second of it. The timing on this one cannot be more perfect
20 mins in and much better than some of the other tutorials I came across. Thanks for this!
Thank you!
This tutorial is just the perfect length! I can watch it while my Unreal editor starts up.
Holy crap this was a dense video! I feel like each minute was a weeks worth of information! Thank you so much for taking the time to make this! To anyone like me who has ZERO experience, I recommend pausing OFTEN and practicing each concept and messing around with it. This will help you remember and better understand each concept.
Yeah... In other words it will take 50 hours to watch 5 hours of LEArning CODING video.
My same thoughts, totally new to ue5
Wow...just wow. This man explains everything in a best way possible, no rush, not being too slow, also shows shortcuts and tips. God Bless!
With the news about Unity yesterday - Now it's time to do the switch.
So let's look at how to make a wall, then talk about objects in general in Unreal 5, then we will texture the wall, and look at the fundamentals so you understand how this application process works with EVERY material in the Engine outside of specific cases."
This is just my perspective as someone who HAS NEVER TOUCHED A SINGLE program like this.

Thanks for your unsolicited two cents, @@tanelviil9149. Contrary to all your wild assumptions, many of us just like tinkering with technology because it's fun and we're curious, not because we want to get rich as you put it.
