Hi Naresh, thanks for posting this video, I picked up one of these for an installation I was doing this week, a full rewire of comms and aerials buried in ducting around a building. So was pleased to see a British video, showing set up by phone app rather than American on a computer. Always apprehensive about the tech side of things, particularly with kit I've never fitted before. I couldn't believe how easy it was to set up this little white rabbit for my customers back garden. So simple, just a user name, a password and then 2nd step just copy the ssid and password of the modem, job done, seamless handover between house and garden. Customer happy. Thanks mate.
For anyone wanting to implement this setup would recommend the following: 1)Use a password generator to generate a strong password as you are increasing your network range. 2) Wire the network cable directly into the Power injector and then a port on your router 3) If your setup permits ideally put it on a different network (vlan) to isolate it from your main home network also hide your SSID on this device if possible.
Hello. Can I ask if I need to setup this on my router too? My isp dont want/didn't provide a password/user on my router isp. All they provide is the password for the wifi on the router. So can I just plug this one and use it or do I need to set it up on my router's portal?
I got this one. I had before 110 model. I can say this EAP 225 is not better than the other one at all. The bonus for this one is 5G , but you can use it 10- 15 m range ..., if you go 50, 100 m you go on 2Ghz, and the maxim I got is 55mpbs at 50 m probably and 10 Mbps at 100 m - the same speed as the 110.Conclusion: If you need the signal to reach long distances, this is not better than EAP 110 half of the price.
Cheers Naresh. I've been investigating this unit (and similar ones) for about 6 months but wasn't sure if it was going to do what I wanted so I procrastinated. I saw your video yesterday and it was more informative than the info from TP Link. So I picked my EAP-225-outdoor up this morning,! Very simple to set up (and as I wanted to use it to to extend my wifi range without having to set up another SSID I just gave it the same SSID/password and security mode as my existing network and it works great. I live in a semi-rural area and our mobile reception is practically non-existent but now with this AP and wifi calling I can actually get calls out in the paddock. So, it needs to be connected to a switch/router for the best Wi-Fi? I'm looking for something that works like a 'repeater'. No connection besides strengthening my indoor Wi-Fi, so that I could get internet near my workshop outdoors.
You need to angle the two screw on aerials away from themselves - in a V configuration. Do not have them bolt upright, parallel to each other. Thats why there is a hinge in them
Lots of good explanation. Thank you for that. However some critical information was totally left out. Namely is how to secure the AP setup after it is installed. Secondly it would be useful if you would show more detail on the wiring connectors you used and plugging them in. What do you recommend?
I've literally just installed this and was looking at how to configure the settings in the app when I saw your video. I have exactly the same set up as you and run a few Ring cameras at the bottom of the garden to protect my caravan etc. My old set up with a router in my shed was very glitchy at times but now the cameras are immediately spot on picture quality. Thank you for your video, my system is now password secure and I can relax :)

Although I am tech savvy, this is my first time using technology like this. I greatly appreciate your help!

This is all depend where you are living in UK most of walls are three times, there is significant decline in signal strength but Internet was arround 100 mbps where as my broadband speed is 350
I just bought this and received it today. I had thought that I would not need to connect it with a Ethernet cable, but it appears the unit requires it. I was looking to extend my wifi signal from inside my house, to areas away from my house where house wifi signal strength is weak. Is it possible to get this unit to work without physically connecting it to my network via ethernet cable ? I had hoped to mount this away from my house on an outbuilding (tool shed).
I just picked up this one for my property too and works pretty well but was wondering if you had any experience with any other products that are a bit less wire/power dependent. Do you know of any wifi repeaters that are battery powered, and also don't require a cat5 back to the router as well, but can extend wifi almost like a mesh? Would be nice to be able to just extend the wifi outdoors with no wires coming back into the home... but its surprisingly hard to find a product that can do this.

Hello I had a question, please help If i use the Access Point TP-LINK TL-WA801ND_V1 Wireless N300 And use an outdoor parabolic dish instead of access point antennas, to send the Wifi 2400 MHz frequency, how far can I receive the frequency 100% without loss of quality ???
Hi Naresh, can you recommend a wireless wifi range extender that will work outdoors? I have power outside but am unable to use an ethernet cable so am looking for something like a TP Link but one that works outdoors. Thanks in advance.
When setting it up it will ask you to make a security code. Once you log into your wifi router using the app settings and change your router at anytime
This works fine if you pair it with a outdoor extender and let that extender be in Line of sight of this one. I recommend www.amazon.com/dp/B00N2RO63U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_3DCTX7V1DSYCTAD4XFXZ as long as you can see the access point this extender will do the rest.
So when you are outside are you having to switch to a new network? I am concerned about this with the functionality of wireless speakers connected to my WiFi inside and outside

I would highly recommend you to install this outdoors, there is a drop in signal when passing through walls especially in the UK, it is not only one wall all together three walls, what I did is made up my pwn RJ45 Ethernet patch cable but if you don't bay tools to build patch cable go for simple 5-meter cat 6 Ethernet cable with rj45 connector toolless plugs search on amazon here is a link for one: the UK Get it Here: amzn.to/3f0OUGS and for the USA Get it Here:amzn.to/2VTIoZE i hope this information would help, let me know if you would like to know more
We live remotely and have couple buildings on one lot that we own. (2 acres) Sounds silly, but one is our house for the winter and the other is our cottage closer to the lake for summer. The 2 buildings are about 500ft away from each other. The house has Starlink wired to TP-Link router. What is the best way to get WiFi internet in the cottage (500 ft away from the house source) strong enough to be able to stream movies and run 6 devices. We are not techy so easier the better. Ethernet is hard to run on terrain as many roots, rock and trees between the 2 buildings but we could do a few feet. Any ideas or suggestions??? This model of the TP-Link AC1200 looks interesting. Would you be able to have it run 500ft and strong enough to be good indoors for watching Netflix and streaming other shows with about 6 devices or so?
Great video. Multiple AP question. I want to get a signal from my house to my boat in the lake about 450 ft away. There are some trees between but I still have line of site as they are spread about 5-10 feet from one another. Question: should the 225 give a decent signal to my boat? If not, can I add a second AP in between where there is a power outlet (but no physical network cable). Thanks
If it had WPA3 it would be worthy, tech been out there since around 2018, sad slow on implementation... only a few items on market that do WPA3 under $400 USD.. 1 requires subscription, 1 allows 1 side to connect and the other to share, taking place of 2 devices so can see slight premium for that...

Electric socket inside, a CPL ok it. The passive poe connected tonthe CPL (electricity) thén RJ45 from CPL to thé poe and RJ45 from poe to thé unit.
And it should work right ?
I’m guessing I can use this with my own Poe switch
How many feet height can be installed on the top of the house?
Hi Naresh I was inspired by your video and subscribed following a purchase of the eap110 outdoor version of this product, however I seem to have issues that weren't present in your video. My device shows up in wlan section but not in the stand alone section of the app. What can u suggest, any advice would be appreciated, thank you take care

Hello
I had a question, please help
If i use the Access Point TP-LINK TL-WA801ND_V1 Wireless N300 And use an outdoor parabolic dish instead of access point antennas, to send the Wifi 2400 MHz frequency, how far can I receive the frequency 100% without loss of quality ???
Hi Naresh, can you recommend a wireless wifi range extender that will work outdoors? I have power outside but am unable to use an ethernet cable so am looking for something like a TP Link but one that works outdoors. Thanks in advance.
Let me check
Naresh Lal thanks
nice video... question: did you use category 5e cable for your poe? If not, what did you use?
no it was cat 6
Can i also install 2 tp-link AC1200 if yes can you also tell us how? Thanks
How do you setup security to keep someone using your connection?
When setting it up it will ask you to make a security code. Once you log into your wifi router using the app settings and change your router at anytime
Thanks so much for the video. I was thinking about getting this for my brother who lives 4 houses away but this is not very strong sadly :(
how about going with line of site kind of wifi? thin about you can have up till 5km
@@nareshkeswani80 what line of site would you reccomend?
This works fine if you pair it with a outdoor extender and let that extender be in Line of sight of this one. I recommend www.amazon.com/dp/B00N2RO63U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_3DCTX7V1DSYCTAD4XFXZ as long as you can see the access point this extender will do the rest.
So when you are outside are you having to switch to a new network? I am concerned about this with the functionality of wireless speakers connected to my WiFi inside and outside
Mobile has feature of selecting best network and this feature works without any issues whereas for wireless speaker it is bit difficult because OS on them does not have feature of selection from multiple networks, i have got many well market know wifi speaker even in that i have to specific the network to use using app every time when changing location i hope this answer your question
Have a TP-Link Deco Mesh system but need to improve wifi to the front and back gardens for Wi-fi cameras, video doorbell etc. Will this work and will I have one network or two (Deco+EAP110's)
i don't see why not what i have is three deco in house and one EAP 225 outside
If you have another name for it than your wifi inside are you able to control for example your smarthome stuff? I think everything has to be on the same network or not?
no you can't have same names of wifi's around house it will create confusions unless you have Mesh Wifi network
Awesome information.
What cable do you recommend?
Is it good for getting a signal through brick walls as I am fitting wireless cameras. Also I would need ethernet cable which also gives you the PoE power supply. Can you recommend a cable?
I would highly recommend you to install this outdoors, there is a drop in signal when passing through walls especially in the UK, it is not only one wall all together three walls, what I did is made up my pwn RJ45 Ethernet patch cable
but if you don't bay tools to build patch cable go for simple 5-meter cat 6 Ethernet cable with rj45 connector toolless plugs search on amazon here is a link for one: the UK Get it Here: amzn.to/3f0OUGS and for the USA Get it Here:amzn.to/2VTIoZE i hope this information would help, let me know if you would like to know more
how many user can connect into it and tellus about its range?
Very good review and demonstrations! With clear line of sight, do you think this would be able to send 100m with respectable ping and speed?
For 100 meters it should be fine at least in open and especially out of UK
Would you be able to have it run 500ft and strong enough to be good indoors for watching Netflix and streaming other shows with about 6 devices or so?
this one might not be a good option, you need to try something like this amzn.to/3v6dlu6
Thanks
Can we use this as a WiFi extender? Without any Ethernet internet cable?
The effectiveness is not as expected. Try to get a newest Mesh WIFI 6
seria la diferencia entre la ACP 210 y 110, gracias
Greetings: How about a test in MiMo?
Does this always have to remain connected to the router. Looking to set up using just an ethernet cable via POE switch and no LAN cable if possible?
that should be fine to you can us your own POE switch
If you have Virgin why don’t you get a wi-fi exstender Free if you get all tv/sports and the fasted broadband.
Wifi extender which will work outdoor, no chance, and virgin media router doesn't even cove the whole house specifically old Victorian
Yes but doesn't have WAP
So i see this supports mesh, so does it work as a standalone extender? I don't want to wire my garage but want to extend my wifi to it. My current mesh system has to clients that are wireless other than power, can we use the POE adapter just plugged into power and not the LAN and use as an extender in my current mesh setup?
Did you find an answer for that? I would like to use it with Mesh.
Is there a limiter for clients connected?
Hi Naresh, im experiencing problems with this AP
Can I use this with wireless access point mode?
Thanks my friend. This answered a ton of my questions
Glad I could help!
I'm worried about the coverage. 300+ meter mentioned in the web/box. But what is the actual coverage area?
for me it is working around 150 meters with strong wifi signal no issues what so ever
@@nareshkeswani80 thanks a lot for your valuable opinion. ☺️❤️❤️❤️
I cannot connect to the EAP network. I can see both 2.4 and 5 GHz but simply cannot connect to them. So I cannot set up the EAP. Please help
Great video! Very well explained, Subscribed!
Cheers
@@nareshkeswani80 Hi, just 1 question, the way it is setup at the moment, I have to join the TP Link via another password (for both 2g & 5g (which is a LOT faster)), is there a way of using the same password as my router so connecting is seamless?
@@rickhyde4183 for that you need to use controller from tp link that will handle all for you
@@nareshkeswani80 Controller??
What if this is install inside my house like in the meddle so how will it be ?
It will work, but you will have good signal inside house but not outdoors this is due to single been passing through walls
@@nareshkeswani80 oh ok and if outside the rain water will go inside after some time and will rust the parts inside right
Does this work with a range extender? I want to install this outside without running a long cable through the house or drilling a hole.
No this is a POE look at this one www.amazon.com/dp/B00N2RO63U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_3DCTX7V1DSYCTAD4XFXZ
can you mesh this to an AC1750 router?
Hi Naresh,
first of all thanks for the video, wanted to check can I use EPA 225 as wifi repeater.
thank you as far as i remember reaper option isn't avaiable but can be used in mesh network but for that a dedicated controller is required.
Once I have configured the device inside and I put it outside... I only need to connect the poe wire right? not poe and lan right?
Yes
@@nareshkeswani80 Thanks. I guess if you have more than one EAP225 , one must be connected to hardwire and the others can just mesh to it? That is how I did it.
what antanae is the 5ghz? left or right?
Is this still the wireless outdoor gigabit access point that you would recommend?
Yes, totally
Great video, you've helped me in making my purchase decision
Glad I could help
How much customer connect at a time on this device
by default the network is dynamic? so if you attach eap225 to main router.. the eap225 gets ip address from the main router ?
Yes, and it will a located other whci h are connection with from it
@@nareshkeswani80 ty
As I understand this the access point requires POE. POE requires an injector signal. My question is do all routers provide the injector signal?
not all router only ones with POE's
@@nareshkeswani80 Unless I missed this critical point in your video, It is my opinion that you would provide a great service to your readers if you made the point that your readers validate that their routers had POE before purchasing a POE dependent advice. It is just my opinion, I hope you don't mind.

Mesh option is available but you need to have controller too and obviously and couple of router eap225
Make a video on the setup 😁😁 please 😁 many thanks for your video. Good job

what is the reccomended elevation/height for tp link ac1200 eap225?

Thank you for the video. Are you experiencing any issues with the 2.4Ghz network?
I am not, what kind of issues are you facing is it to do with signal strength or data transfer?
@@nareshkeswani80 it was to do with data transfer - almost no connectivity and speed when I’m around 7 meters away from the EAP. Signal strength is fine. 5Ghz works best.
Your issue for 2.4 Gh is seems to be with wifi channel, you need to change is it with some thing not used around, use wifi analyzer app from netgear to help you with it
@@nareshkeswani80 thanks. I have already changed channels and it seems not to have fixed the issue. I guess I’ll have to stick to 5Ghz - but that’s a bummer.
@@lop_dan OMG I HAVE THE SAME ISSUE BUT COULD NOT REALLY USE 5G BECAUSE MOST OF MY DEVICE ARE 2.4G
Wasn't there a need to ground the device in case of lightning strikes ?
Very true, but i have already check in specification they mentioned no need to worry about it protection for that is avaiable within device
