I have an old dog kennel too that I've wanted to turn into a chicken run. I was planning to use pvc pipe like you did, but I wasn't sure how to connect it. I didn't know about those brackets. I will have to get those.

Awesome! I got mine at Lowe’s, and they’re called “galvanized fence rail clamps.” They were about $4.00 each. Hope this helps! 😊

Great job on redoing the coop and adding the run. I live in the mountains so the chicken wire on top of the run wouldn’t work here the raccoons would eventually get through it. Have you had any problems with rodents coming in to eat the chicken food?

Thank you!! 😊 We haven’t had any problems with mice yet. We have a lot of hawks and some owls around, so I’m wondering if that is keeping the mice under control. We do have moles that have tunneled under the run and I haven’t been successful at trapping them yet. They’ve torn the ground up pretty good, but at least they’re not after the chicken feed. I’m hoping that any raccoons and opossums that may come around will leave the run alone. Luckily, we don’t have too many.

Great idea on the coop I will be doing that myself now that I know I can.
