Has this movie been seen on a basic cable tv-channel known as the Military Channel at least once? The Coast Guard is part of the United States Armed Forces whether anyone in the US Navy have any respect for them or not.
I'm a firefighter/EMR as well and I know the feeling, you can't let that crap get to you. Some people like to watch the world burn, some people have zero consideration or dignity. No matter what you say or do will stop it, all you can do is keep going on. It's tough sometimes but necessary to keep us tough. Never look back, never look down and never let go. :)
I'm a firefighter and I have only cried at two movies in my life this and ladder 49. My grandpa was in the navy and I know how they feel about the coast guard. But I would be proud to shake a hand with anyone brave enough io save a life just like I would want the same to be done for me... You need a strong heart and mind to do what we do and what they do.

If anyone in the United States Navy has seen this movie and had said bad remarks about the United States Coast Guard,they should take them back. The Coast Guard has been part of the United States Armed Forces since 1790 and who knows how many of them were lost during a rescue or even during combat at sea?
i remember watching this movie in a hotel at around 1 in the morning... we were sooooo into the movie that we didnt realize how loud it was until we had someone come to our door complaining it was too loud :P SUCH a good movie.
I to cry every time I see this movie. But even though I am 17, I still have several years to decide what I want to do. But I have one thing to say - No matter what, do what you heart calls you to do, no matter what anybody says, Follow your heart.

A movie made from reality. I was a rescue swimmer and diver. The best I ever did was saving two little Italian boys. I have made my freedom.
