Update...after not driving my truck for a few weeks my battery was completely dead And this started my 5.4L no problem.
It is winter here and The jump pack was put in my truck at 100% a few months ago when I went to use it it was at 71% so it did lose a little charge from sitting. It was very coldand the pre-heat technology actually kicked on and worked, It preheated the pack before allowing me to jumpstart the truck and used about 5 to 6% of the battery for the preheating Cycle. I was excited to see this feature work because when I tested it I put it in the freezer and did not see anything happen after 20 minutes but it definitely does work when stored in cold weather for an extended period of time.

What is the difference between the 8.5 and the 8.5s

How cold was it outside when the preheating function kicked on? Wondering if the 85S is worthwhile even if it doesn't get to subzero temps where I live.

This may sound weird (suffered a severe head injury during military service '91) but you are the VERY first one to discuss how TO RECHARGE the unit. This was a very informative video ~ you did not assume everyone watching knows what to do!!!

Just got one at Amazon. I had a car rover which I had to dump due to swelling. It actually broke out of the case! Anyway, looking forward to getting it and hopefully it will give me years of service without swelling.

I just bought one, are you afraid of it exploding or catching fire from the battery?
    I've seen others do this.

I'd like to see this thing being tested with a partial charge. They say it can produce 2000 cranking amps when it's fully charged, does that mean it can crank at 1000 amps when it's at 50% charge? and 500 amps when it's at 25%? If so then I need to see some testing to be sure it's true!
500 amps should be enough to start my car. It would be awesome if I knew I could drain this thing down to 25% and still have enough power left jump start my car if necessary. That's the only way I'd feel safe using it to charge my phone and other devices when I'm out in the woods. But I definitely would have to see some testing to be 100% sure this works, first.

Love your presentations. How about doing one on TireJect for cutting out flats. I see that you have a RZR as I do and I have used this stuff in all of my tires. Has saved both my son an me when we have hit sharp objects and even sealed a leak on my sons tire when he dinged up a rim and lost the seal. It is hands down better than slime. Some repair shops will not even fix a tire that has slime installed.

How long can you keep this in your vehicle, fully charged, before use? On the other hand, how long can it last without recharging?

Mine was just sitting for 6-8 months and I just checked it it’s at 70% but I can’t remember what it was last time I used it.

Curious as to how that much power can come out of such a small battery. My guess is Capacitors must be involved, allowing for a quick recharge. If not, the recharge rate must be a very high "C" number, which can significantly reduce the number of times this unit can be recharged. Do you have any knowledge of these things, specific to this charging unit?

This KS item 'IS' in production (most if not all are) or you would have not received a completed item, neatly packaged in the printed box.. What KS money does is to help pay for the marketing which is more $ than making the item.. If people don't know about it, the company can't sell it... Thanks again, JM...

Thanks for the info. You are correct I just seen today on the Kickstarter campaign that production has started in the updates and will start shipping in December.

@@JeremiahMcintosh I did not peruse their web site, but I know how these so called 'investment before production' money raisers work.. Either there is already a product waiting in the wings and the company is looking for some extra bread to get it out the door, or the entire KS offering is a boondoggle, chinese style rip-off, to scam buyers, primarily the super gullible USA buyer who will buy anything.. BTW, it looks like this might be a worthwhile product, but on the super expensive side..
JM, keep up your good work.. Like you, I am riding the Lectric bike for more than a year and continue to enjoy it.. I'm just about ready to order a new handle bar as that scooter configuration could be better and instill more confidence.. Although I am 6'-3", 230lbs. and in great shape, I am always amazed as to how you steer it with one hand while making a video.. Crazy good..!! (BTW, I'm the guy w/the repurposed patio umbrella base for a bike frame holder....) Take care..

It cranked, but not start. I'd be hesitant to buy one of these until they get up to full production. Furthermore, there level of customer service leaves a lot to be desired if you're unable to get a quick response - which would frustrating in and of itself - but putting a random phone number the manual post publication is disappointing. Are they too busy focusing on the product and not proofing the operating manual for mistakes? Jeremiah, your video is a roughly 2 years old, are you planning an update?
