- SB Chevy 427 Pump Gas Monster making 675+ horsepower, Yes that's right, on "PUMP" gas. This is one bad little beast. 100% machined and built in-house by CNC-Motorsports. We used the following basic components, Dart SHP block, Eagle 4340 forged steel crankshaft, Eagle H beam connecting rods, JE / Dimond pistons, Total Seal piston rings, CNC custom ground solid roller camshaft, AFR aluminum cylinder heads, Jesel shaft rockers, Edelbrock Intake manifold. Topped off with an AED Holley carburetor and MSD Ignition. Call us for all your engine or part needs. www.cnc-motorsports.com
nice job , that is a really nice street Strip engine , 10.5 or 11.1 pump gas , 675 hp small block , yes it is achieve able with high quality heads and top engine builders !!
WIDE L.S.A., like the newer LS engines use. look at those ports and compression on their engines
Damn 687 hp 598 torque that's crazy my big block 427 that's 60 over only makes 661 hp and 605 torque that is a mighty mouse
Very nice numbers for a small block
I'm running Dart SHP 400 cid in my Chevelle. It's only 580 HP with street cam and dual plane but man does it haul ass.
That is impressive
Beautiful curve and torque everywhere.
This or the 14-71 540 BB Chevy engine for me..hopefully !
My 516 made 739/697ft lbs at 10.88 actual compression and it doesn't like straight pump gas. Hopefully EFI will help me out some. But anyways sounds like a pretty decent combination
You may have a sharp edge somewhere in the cumbustion chamber that glows, causing detonation. Using aluminum heads is the same as being able to raise your compression ratio one full point, allowing higher compression without pinging.
Yes 10.1 actual compression is all 91 pump gas will do 9.75 and you will be safe because all 91 is not the same in the back woods of Oklahoma anyway
John reeves not true, my 2014 mustang gt was 11.1 compression from the factory with 420 horsepower and ran on 87 octane every day of the week
@Benjamin Carvin You are making a comparison to 2 completely different engines. One engine was designed in the 60s, the other 10 years ago.
@@gumballer133 My 415 SBC @ 12:1 Runs just fine on most premium pump gas. It has a lot to do with the way your heads are prepped.
I would enjoy that...WOW
What's the price tag on a motor like that and what size stall it going to need cuz I probably need both in a couple of months
Love jesel, but would have chosen T&D, unless you went with steel rockers, beautiful combo regardless!
I’d love to know the lift an duration of the cam unless it’s top secret information lol. I know those heads max out at .700 lift but from what AFR advertises you only gain 4CFM from .650 to .700 that’s why I’d like to know what the cam was to get that.
NICE IM BUILDING 427 THIS SPRING PRETTY MUCH THE SAME AS WHAT YOU DID, WHAT LCA ARE YOU RUNNING I WAS THINKING 106, DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE, THANKS
when i see it at engine masters competition on their dyno surrounded by witnesses then i'll believe it . and alot of those guys run high compression on pump gas . they rattle at low rpm's under load but they do make power. they just dont last .
Nice motor boys. It would surprise you how much cam you can put in that thing and still run it on the street. It sounded pretty thumpy at idle, but only peaking at 6500 says you could put more..
The way the torque is tipped, its more at the intake position the ran it a bit advanced. You spend more time at 4500 to 6500, so more bottom is appreciated unless you are on a long high bank all day. -Sandy
Very nice!! What size heads?
A friend of mine bought a car with one of your motor in it. I raced him with my 383 on nos, he beat me and he was all motor!! What size carb you got on your dyno engine ?
Hey CNC... seeing this is a old video and combo.. Can you tell us the cam specs ??? exact comp ... what octane pump gas... thanks...
10.5:1 compression, 91/92 octane. Camshaft specs we don't share.
@@cncmotorsports Ball park, within a few degrees.. ???
@@cncmotorsports I'm in Australia. no threat to you
How much for that motor thats sick
Nasty!
Good God! That is awesome. What is the price tag on something like that?

Would the AED 1000HO be enough carb for E85?
Is this an 18 degree or 15 degree build? I don't see how this would be possible with a conventional 23 degree engine.
This is a 23 degree head CNC ported, Does the number all day long. Very popular combination for us.
@@cncmotorsports I cannot argue what I don't know. That is very impressive!! I bought a 427 from y'all a few years back and it was a strong running engine! You guys do good work! That I do know.
@@bluedemon79 Greatly appreciated..
wow
Twin turbo
i dont know how a sbc 427 can make that much power .. my 388 makes 535 - 550hp
+demarques t High compression, low overlap, with good aluminum heads, all forged, and high rev limit you can make 700+ on dart sbc 427's naturally aspirated 1000+ on boost/nitrous but that's risking failure with use.
+Christopher Manno depends on the builder but I'd recommend a short block they are about 4800 for all forged lower.
Christopher Manno Also pretty much any GM transmission will bolt right up to dart shp sbc's besides maybe 4l80E and above, they are Gen 1 style blocks with a few extras. obviously it needs to handle the power though.
+Christopher Manno no problem!
Damn....man that's exactly the house range that I'm looking for. Any advice? What's the max hp with vortec iron heads that have been port matched and bowl blended? Everything else identical. I cant afford to cough up 2 racks on some aluminum heads
maybe a 600hp build would be way more fun
Does anyone know when Canfield production stopped or are they still being machined ??
Canfield has been gone for quite a few years. sweet heads if you can find em but AFR is the go to heads now.
AFR bought out the Canfield tooling. Canfield heads can be bought new for big blocks again, but not small blocks. Flow numbers are identical for the canfields and the AFR's.
@@brianbuck8875 I bought a set of promaxx 225cc cnc ported and the flow numbers are comparable to afr 220. The afr makes more mid range average flow but for the money the promax is a good set of heads
Estimated price tag
NASTY ???
Or a manual transmission I don’t like autos
