I need help...my dad has built race cars his whole life. But now he has memory issues were thinking dementia. He cant remember most of what i need to know to help keep his cars running. He has. 1973 gremlin with a 406 sbc 6-71 blower on it and im hearing a noise behind the belts right on the front of the motor. It sounds really clanky when its a low idle. Give it some gas and it goes away. Ive looked into the gear oil and other things but im so scared to mess somthing up even more. I just wish i knew what was causing the noise

Engine doesnt know if its on the street or track. So add some VP or Torco to a full tank of premium its cheap in the long run. 2 pts less compression isnt gonna make it more streetable. Youll just lose torque and throttle response.

The short comings of the Thumpr cams is the lift. They really wake up with 1.6 or 1.7 ratio rockers.

looks an awful lot like the specs of the ford performance crate . . . same torque and HP numbers, like lmost identical. only difference is the efi.

Crate racing SUCKS! Just allow them but allow normal tear down rules and no need for seals! Problem solved. All crate racing did was allow tracks to get lazy on tech in our area at least. Folks used to buy Brezenski acid ported stuff to cheat in street stock classes years ago now Brezenski has videos on here showing how to get past the seals and sells cheated parts. The idea of crate racing was great. The result SUCKS and has hurt racing in my opinion

Scat 383 rotating assembly, comp cam w/464 total lift, profiler heads I’m getting 437# of torque n 403 hp, been a while since I looked at the specs, this what stuck in the brain.

That a mean little 383 Stroker. That would go real nice in my 66 C10 Stepside.
