I work in the garage and set my furniture on moving wheel cart, when I paint or repair it. Then I move it out in front of my white garage door in natural light. 👍
Thanks Melanie. Great tips. I I've been taking photos of my upcycled furniture for several years, now, but your pointed out some things I had not thought of.
Thankyou so much for this video! The tips helped me so much to stage my upcycled furniture. Styling and accessories really do help with negative space.
Love your tips, Melanie! Photography is one of the most important aspects of a business. Thanks for sharing your insight and talent! The dresser is lovely too!
I have been binge watching your videos for the past week. I absolutely love all of the education you have given us for a new booth owners. I scored a spot at the antique store after being on the waitlist for months. I’ve had to pull things together quickly although I had a lot already… I’m noticing I probably should get a blog started because I DIY a lot for my Decour and collectibles as well. Do you by chance have a video you could link on blogs that are best for booth owners? I know there are several on Etsy I could purchase but I’m not huge tech savvy even though I am a family photographer… I hire my work out for that type of work.
Hi Tasha! Congrats on your new booth venture 👏👏 I am so glad I started my blog over 8 years ago, it’s been a great thing for my business. I don’t know if a good RUclips video on blogs, but can say mine is built on Wordpress. I’ve learned a lot over the years from KariAnne at Thistlewood Farms, and believe she has a blogging course she teaches
I always enjoy your staging videos! The furniture piece is GORGEOUS! How did you hide the picture hooks in the final photo? Is there a way to edit a photo in that way on an iphone? Thanks, Melanie!!
Thank you! I usually edit my photos in Adobe Lightroom on my computer, there is a spot correct function you can use. You can get Lightroom for your phone free as well, but to use the spot correction feature you have to upgrade to the $4.99 a month plan. Totally worth it though in my opinion!
This is such a helpful video! Thank you! Yes, this has given me a place to start from. I need to create a background for my online photos. I will do that. The area I’m confused about is in my booth. The flea market is really dark and has artificial light. I’d like to take more photos of my space to post online but they’re just so dark. When I try to lighten them up they just look off. Any tips?
Yeah… that’s so hard! I have the same issues with my booth. Have you downloaded Adobe Lightroom for your phone? There’s a free version and you can do lots of editing there. I’ve also bought packages of present edits from people in the interior design niche, and it does a bunch of edits with one button. Makes it super easy! Also, perhaps try staging some vignettes at home in better lighting before you take stuff up to your booth. Those can be your “beauty shots” for your social media 🙂
@@LostFoundDecor Absolutely awesome advice! I just got Adobe Lightroom last night and just got a set of presets! Now to play around with them and see what I can come up with! Great idea about the home photos! I just cleared a space in my home where I can photograph. Thank you so much for your comment/advice! Coleen
What if there isn't any room in your house with good natural lighting? The only room in the house is my kitchen but the only wall would have a window on it.
That can make it a bit tougher… try a ring light or add white light lightbulbs in your overhead lighting. Or, find a blank wall outside somewhere not in direct sunlight, or in a flat spot with a pretty background behind it-outdoors works also!
Sure, if that would be helpful! If you take a peek at my website, you can see lots of photographed smalls in the meantime :) lostandfounddecor.shop/collections/found-objects-and-decor
